Suspension or Discharge Grievance. A claim by an employee who has completed their probationary period that they have been unjustly discharged or suspended shall be treated as a grievance if a written statement of such grievance is lodged by the employee with the Employer at Step No. 2 within fourteen (14) business days after the date the discharge or suspension is affected.
Suspension or Discharge Grievance. If a grievance is to ensue it shall be submitted in writing by the employee through the Chairperson or Committee Person of the Shop Committee to the Company President or his/her representative, not later than the end of the next work day following the suspension or discharge. Within two work days following receipt of the grievance the Company President or his/her representative shall arrange a meeting between the appropriate Company and Union representative. Within two work days following the meeting, or a longer time as may be mutually agreed upon, the Company President or his/her representative shall furnish the Chairperson of the Shop Committee with the Company's disposition of the grievance, in writing. If the disposition is not acceptable the grievance may proceed to arbitration upon receipt of due notice from the Union within the time limits as prescribed in part 9.02 of this Article 9.
Suspension or Discharge Grievance. Whenever an employee, other than a probationary employee, is suspended or dismissed, the grievance shall be initiated at Step Three within twenty (20) working days after the employee has been suspended or ceases to be employed by the Employer, as the case may be.

The Vice-President, Human Resources & Equity (or the designated representative of the Vice-President, Human Resources & Equity) shall meet with the Chair of the Union and the Grievance Officer within a period of five (5) working days after receipt of the written grievance at Step 3. If the grievance is not settled at this meeting, or within a period of five (5) working days following the meeting, then the Union may notify the Employer, in writing, within a further period of fifteen (15) working days that it intends to proceed to arbitration pursuant to Article 15 of this Collective Agreement.
Suspension or Discharge Grievance. A claim by an employee that she has been unjustly suspended or discharged shall be treated as a grievance if a written statement of such grievance is filed by the employee within five (5) calendar days after the employee has received notice of discharge or suspension in writing from the Employer. Such special grievance shall be taken up at Step 2 of the grievance procedure. If an incident comes to the Employer’s attention, and the Employer believes the incident may, upon investigation, result in disciplinary action, then except where the incident involves a police investigation, the employee and the Union shall be advised of the incident, and any investigation, within seven (7) calendar days of the incident coming to the Employer’s attention. If the incident involves a police investigation, there is no such obligation. It is agreed that the Union Chairperson will be notified immediately upon the dismissal or suspension of any employee within the bargaining unit.

Suspension or Discharge Grievance. The release or discharge of an employee during the probationary period shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration unless the release or discharge is a violation of the Human Rights Code. The Employer agrees that it will not suspend, discharge or otherwise discipline an employee who has completed her probationary period, without just cause. A claim by an employee who has completed her probationary period that she has been unjustly discharged or suspended shall be treated as a grievance if a written statement of such grievance is lodged by the employee with the Employer at Step No. 2 within seven (7) business days after the date the discharge or suspension is affected. Wherever the Employer deems it necessary to suspend or discharge an employee, the Employer shall copy the Union of such suspension or discharge in writing.
