TIME VACATION PAY. Vacation pay for part-time employees shall be retained by the Co-operative. TIME VACATION PAY. This Letter is for the purpose of clarifying the meaning of Article 21 as it pertains to the payment vacation pay to part-timers.
TIME VACATION PAY. Subject to maintaining superior conditions concerning entitlement, vacation entitlement shall be as follows: A part-time employee who has completed less than hours of continuous service as of June shall receive of gross earnings. A part-time employee who has completed hours but less than hours of continuous service as of June shall receive of gross earnings. Effective in the vacation year where the date for determining vacation entitlement in the individual Hospital falls on or after October the service requirement for of gross earnings shall be hours. TIME VACATION PAY. Effective upon the first full pay period following September 16, 2011, the Employer will cease paying out vacation pay to part-time employees biweekly. The Employer will continue to calculate the part-time employee’s vacation pay biweekly on the same basis as previously, however, the Employer will retain the biweekly vacation pay in a vacation bank for the employee to be paid out when the employee takes her vacation or the employee may request the vacation pay in the pay period before their vacation. Such request must be made at the time the vacation request is made. For the purposes of this article, gross earnings shall include all earnings from the previous year, including, but not limited to vacation payments. Where possible without extensive programming changes, the amount of vacation pay will be separately identified on the pay stub. A part-time employee will qualify for holiday pay if the employee worked her scheduled day before and scheduled day after the holiday (unless excused by an illness as confirmed, if required by the Employer, by a doctor's certificate) and must have worked at least one (1) day in the two (2) week period immediately preceding the holiday in question. Holiday pay for part-time employees will be based on a pro rata basis of hours regularly worked in relation to seventy-five (75) hours bi-weekly. All work performed on any of the designated holidays by a seniority employee shall be paid for at time and one-half (1½) his regular rate of pay in addition to the holiday pay for a qualifying employee. For the purpose of clarity, an employee who works a shift commencing at 11:00 p.m. on the day preceding the paid holiday and ending at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the paid holiday is considered as being at work on the designated holiday throughout all the hours of that shift. The calculation of pro-ration percentage shall be determined by dividing the hours paid in the previous predetermined six (6) month period by 975 and then multiplying by 100. The predetermined six month period shall coincide with the posting of the seniority list.

If the Employer currently has the computer systems’ capability to implement vacation pay, they shall do so by the start of the next vacation year or earlier. If the Employer does not so implement, it will provide reasons in writing to the Union. Where possible without extensive programming changes, the amount of vacation pay will be separately identified on the pay stub.

It is the responsibility of the employee to ensure that they take a minimum of two (2) weeks off for vacation. The Employer has the right to schedule vacation time off if the employee does not do so. RE: ELECTED OR APPOINTED TO FEDERAL, PROVINCIAL, MUNICIPAL OR REGIONAL MUNICIPAL OFFICE An employee who is elected or appointed to Federal, Provincial, Municipal or Regional Municipal office, who is required to be absent from work because of her elected or appointed duties shall upon written application to the Employer, be granted sufficient time on of absence to comply with her duties. Seniority and service shall continue consistent with the Collective Agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence. Such payment shall be in advance of when the monthly premium is due.

  • VACATIONS AND VACATION PAY 9.01 All employees who are covered under this Agreement shall receive vacation pay as a percent of the employee's total earnings exclusive of the Employer's contribution to the Union's Pension, Health Benefit Plan, Education and Assistance Fund and Industry Fund. Income tax shall be deducted weekly from the employee's earnings increased by the amount of vacation pay. a. Employees shall, upon hire, receive ten percent (10%) vacation pay, and up to three weeks of vacation. b. Employees with ten or more years of service with the Employer shall receive twelve percent (12%) vacation pay, and up to four weeks of vacation. 9.02 Vacation periods shall be arranged by mutual agreement between the Employer and each employee. Employees shall be granted their vacation periods as requested insofar as it is practical and in accordance with seniority, unless the Employer decides to grant all vacations at one time, in which case the Employer shall give the employees at least six (6) weeks advance notice. 9.03 The Employer agrees to remit the Vacation Pay of each employee as agreed upon in 9.01 of this Agreement and in accordance with the regulation set by the Employment Standards Branch, Ministry of Labour, monthly before, but not later than the fifteenth of the following month to the Union using a separate cheque marked "Vacation Pay", accompanied by a list on which all deductions and contributions as mentioned in 6.01, 13.02, 14.02a, 14.02b, 18.01, 19.01 and Schedule "A" are recorded. 9.04 In accordance with the agreement with the Employment Standards Branch, Ministry of Labour, the Board of Trustees of the Union's Vacation Pay Trust Fund, is obligated to take any steps which may be available to them either in law or in equity or in bankruptcy as may be necessary or desirable to effect collection from delinquent Employers. All costs incurred in the collection of said payment will be charged to such defaulting Employer. 9.05 The Employer agrees to give the auditor of the Union's Trust Fund the privilege to examine the Employer's records concerning hours and monies forwarded to the Union, if and when the auditor so desires. Any date for such an examination will be pre-arranged in writing between the auditor, the Employer and the Union.

  • Vacation Payout Where an employee requests in writing to have a specific number of vacation days paid out, and the Employer agrees to the request, the Employer will issue pay in lieu of vacation. Pay in lieu of vacation, if agreed, will be granted only after a minimum of 15 days' vacation time has already been taken in the year.

  • Vacation Benefits During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible for 20 vacation days annually, which shall be accrued and used in accordance with the applicable policies of the Company. During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible to participate in such medical, dental and life insurance, retirement and other plans as the Company may have or establish from time to time on terms and conditions applicable to other senior executives of the Company generally. The foregoing, however, shall not be construed to require the Company to establish any such plans or to prevent the modification or termination of such plans once established.

  • Accrued Vacation It is further agreed by the parties hereto that, upon sale or transfer of ownership of any store or upon dissolution of business, vacation pay for all months worked for which no vacation pay has been given shall be immediately paid to all employees coming under this Agreement, regardless of length of time said employee has been with the Employer.

  • Paid Vacation Except as otherwise provided in this Article, paid vacation shall be granted no later than the fiscal year immediately following the fiscal year in which it is earned. Following the completion of six (6) months of service, the employee shall be entitled to use earned paid vacation.

  • Vacation Bonus Employees shall receive one day's base pay (or adjusted earnings) for each year of service beyond twenty-five (25) years, to a maximum of ten (10) days’ pay.

  • Entitlement to Vacation Leave With Pay An employee is entitled to vacation leave with pay to the extent of his earned credits but an employee who has completed six (6) months of continuous employment may receive an advance of credits equivalent to the anticipated credits for the vacation year.
