– UNION REPRESENTATION AND ACTIVITY. 4.01 The Union shall notify the Company in writing of the names of its Executive Offices, Bargaining Committee members and Stewards before the Company shall be required to recognize them. a) The Company recognizes the right of the Union to select two (2) employees who have attained seniority, to act as a Bargaining Committee who, along with a full-time Representative of the Union, will meet with the Company to discuss matters which are properly the subject of negotiation concerning amendments to the current Agreement and proposals for the renewal and modification of the Agreement. Also, the Company recognizes the right of the Union to select one (1) alternate xxxxxxx from the shop who may act in the absence of a regular xxxxxxx. b) The company will compensate the two (2) members of the Bargaining Committee for all scheduled working time lost in attending negotiating meetings with the Company at their respective hourly rate of pay. 4.03 Union Stewards may assist employees working in their respective departments in presenting their complaint to the designated representative of the Company in accordance with the grievance procedure. It is understood that the two (2) employees selected for Executive Officers, shall also act as Stewards and Bargaining Committee. 4.04 It is understood that Union Representatives have their regular work to perform on behalf of the Company and, if it is necessary to service a grievance during working hours, they will not leave their work without obtaining permission of the Plant Manager, or his designate. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. If they have to go to another department other that their own, they must also notify the supervisor of that department of their presence and the reasons therefore. On resuming their regular work, they will advise the Plant Manager, or his designate, of their return. Time spent in servicing grievances during the Xxxxxxx’x normally scheduled hours of work shall be considered time worked at his normal rate of pay 4.05 The Company agrees to recognize a Union Grievance Committee of not more than two (2) members of the Union Executive. – UNION REPRESENTATION AND ACTIVITY. 6.01 The Company shall recognize and deal with such representatives of the employees as the Union may elect or appoint. Any Union Representative shall, upon obtaining permission of the designated official of the Company have the right to enter the plant, excluding the offices, during working hours, for the purpose of investigating any grievance, or dispute arising out of the administration, interpretation, application or alleged violation of the terms of the Agreement. The Union Representative or representatives in performing such duties, shall not interrupt or delay production. 6.02 The Company agrees to recognize a Union Grievance Committee of not more than two (2) members of the Union Executive. The Company will compensate the Grievance Committee for scheduled working time lost in settling grievances at their regular straight-time hourly rate on the following conditions: (a) The time spent must be in meetings between the Union and the Company. Employees having grievances cannot discuss these with the Xxxxxxx in working hours, except in the case of a discharged employee. (b) The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of grievances. (c) The Company reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time so taken to be unreasonable. 6.03 The Company agrees to provide the Union with a copy of all job postings. 6.04 The Company agrees to permit the Union to post notices of meetings and other Union business and affairs on a bulletin board provided by the Company for such purposes. It is agreed, however, that such notices must first be approved by the Company.

Before conferring with an employee, the Association representative shall make his presence and the purpose of his visit known to the Fire Chief, or, in his absence, to the Officer then in command. The Association representative may confer with an employee if the conference will not interfere unreasonably with the performance of the duties assigned to the employees.

– UNION REPRESENTATION AND ACTIVITY. 3.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select Union Stewards for the purpose of representing employees in the handling of complaints and grievances. 3.02 The Company agrees to recognize one (1) Union Xxxxxxx for each fifteen (15) employees or major fraction thereof with a minimum of one (1) Union Xxxxxxx for each department, plus one (1) Xxxxxxx on each shift other than the regular day shift. 3.03 The Company shall be notified by the Union of the name(s) of the Union Xxxxxxx(s) and the areas they are representing and any changes made thereto. 3.04 When the legitimate business of a Union Xxxxxxx requires him to leave his workstation and/or department, he shall first receive permission from his xxxxxxx (such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld). 3.05 The Company agrees that Stewards shall not suffer loss of pay for time spent in the handling of grievances.

Such leaves of absence will be requested in writing. There will be only one (1) employee absent at any one (1) time from the day shift, and there will be only two (2) employees absent at any one (1) time from the entire night shift. However, all Stewards may be absent at one (1) time for one and one-half (1½) hours per month for Union business. 6.03 The Employer shall provide bulletin boards for the use of the Union at locker rooms, or other appropriate locations as the parties may agree from time-to-time, upon which the Union shall have the right to post notices. 6.04 The Employer agrees that the Union Stewards shall be the last employees laid-off in the event of a lay-off temporary or otherwise and shall be the first employees recalled after lay-off so long as they are capable and willing to perform the available work.

Notice of changes in Union officers or Platoon Representatives shall be provided to the University within one (1) business day from such changes becoming known to the Union, but not later than five (5) business days from the effective date of the changes. It is the intent of the parties that Union representatives shall represent individual Employees on the shift and in the area where the Union representative works to the extent this is possible.
