UNION REPRESENTATIVES AND ACTIVITIES. 5.1 The Union shall inform the County in writing of the names of its officers and stewards who are authorized to represent the Union. Such information shall be kept up-to-date at all times.

UNION REPRESENTATIVES AND ACTIVITIES. 5.01 The Employer agrees that no employee or group of employees shall undertake to represent the Union to the Employer without proper authorization of the Union. 5.02 The Employer acknowledges the right of up to five (5) designated representative(s) of the Union in addition to the Alliance’s regional office staff to have access to The University of Western Ontario premises at any one time to consult with members and Local officers to address Union meetings, and to participate in discussions with the Employer or in grievance settlement proceedings. 5.03 The Employer recognizes the right of every member to participate in any official activities of the Union, and it shall not interfere with this right. 5.04 A Union representative shall be entitled to up to 15 minutes to provide an overview of the role of the Union at any department- wide or University-wide orientation event for employees. The person designated by the Department, School or Faculty shall notify the Union by every August 15th whether or not they are having an Orientation session where a Union representative could be present. 5.05 The Employer agrees to recognize a Union Negotiating Committee of up to five (5) members.
UNION REPRESENTATIVES AND ACTIVITIES. ‌ 7.01 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select Employees as representatives. 7.02 The Union shall determine the jurisdiction of each representative. 7.03 The Union shall notify the Employer of the name and jurisdiction of its representatives as well as any updates or changes to that list as they occur. 7.04 The Employer shall provide the Union, in writing, with the names and position titles of those responsible for liaison with the Union. 7.05 Whenever possible, a representative shall investigate Employee complaints or process a grievance or undertake any other Union business, outside of their Scheduled Work times. If this is not possible, the representative will obtain permission of their Employment Supervisor prior to leaving work, and such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. 7.06 Duly authorized representatives of the Union shall be permitted to transact official business of the Union with members of the Union or with official representatives of the Employer on University property, provided such business shall not interfere with the normal operations of the University. 7.07 A Union representative shall be entitled to up to fifteen (15) minutes to provide an overview of the role of the Union at any College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies-arranged orientation for Postdoctoral fellows. The Employer will notify the Union at least fifteen (15) Calendar Days in advance of such orientation. Such orientations shall be convened at least once per year.

UNION REPRESENTATIVES AND ACTIVITIES. 1. The Union may have six (6) Employee Representatives who shall be authorized to handle complaints and grievances arising under this Agreement. The Union shall provide to the City a list of all authorized Employee Representatives. The Union may designate different Employee Representatives at any time within thirty (30) days written notice to the City Administration. 2. An Employee Representative may make reasonable visits within the work area the Employee represents for the purposes of handling specific complaints and grievances arising under this Agreement. The Employee Representative shall first notify and obtain the approval of the Department Head in advance of such visit, advising the Department Head where the Employee Representative shall be and how long the Employee Representative anticipates such visit shall take. The Employee Representative shall arrange such visits to occur at times when they will least impact City operations and the performance of work. Prior to conducting such visit, the Employee Representative shall fill out the appropriate time record recording the time the Representative left the work assignment/area. Upon concluding the visit, the Employee Representative shall promptly notify the Department Head that the visit was concluded and that the Representative has returned to the work assignment/area, at which time the Representative shall record on the appropriate time record that the visit has concluded. All time spent on such visits shall be designated on the time record as Union Leave and deducted from the appropriate Union Leave account. 3. The Union may have representatives who are not Employees of the City who also shall be authorized to speak for the Union in all matters governed by this Agreement and shall be permitted to visit any work area for the purpose of administering this Agreement at reasonable times upon advance approval of the City Administration or designee. Such approval will not be unreasonably denied. The Union shall arrange such visits to occur at times when they will least impact City operations and the performance of work. The Union shall provide to the City a list of all such authorized representatives. 4. During working hours, the Employee Representative may handle complaints and grievances arising under this Agreement with the proper City Representative. UNION REPRESENTATIVES AND ACTIVITIES. Names of employees selected by the Union to act as its designated representatives (commonly known as shop stewards) shall be certified in writing to the County. In accordance with subsection 4.4 of this Article, the County and Union agree that designated Union representatives shall be allowed a reasonable amount of time to engage in the following activities during work hours and at the County’s facilities, without loss of compensation, leave hours, or benefits (consistent with ORS 243.798 and its successors): (a) Investigate and process grievances and other workplace-related complaints on behalf of the exclusive representative; (b) Attend investigatory meetings and due process hearings involving represented employees; (c) Participate in or prepare for proceedings under ORS 243.650 to 243.809, or that arise from a dispute involving a collective bargaining agreement, including arbitration proceedings, administrative hearings and proceedings before the Employment Relations Board;
