Unit Security. 6.01 On commencing employment, the CEO or designate shall introduce the new employee to her Union Xxxxxxx. An Officer of the Union shall be given an opportunity to interview each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay for a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, during the first month of employment for the purpose of acquainting the new employee with the Collective Agreement. 6.02 All employees shall complete and sign an application for membership and pay an initiation fee on a form supplied by the Union within one week of commencing employment. 6.03 The Union copy of this form will be forwarded to the Union upon completion. The Union will notify the Employer in writing of any change in the amount of Union dues and/or initiation fee to be deducted. 6.04 In consideration of deducting and forwarding of the Union dues to the Secretary-Treasurer of CUPE Local 905 no later than the 15th of the month following the month the dues were levied by the Employer, the Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Employer against any claims or liabilities arising or resulting from the operation of this article. The cheque shall be accompanied by a list of the names, amount of dues paid by each employee from whose wages the deductions have been made. This list shall indicate promotions, demotions, hirings, lay-offs, transfers, recalls, resignations, retirements, deaths and other termination of employment. 6.05 At the same time that Income Tax (T-4) slips are available, the Employer shall type on the amount of Union dues paid by each Union member in the previous year.
Unit Security. (a) Employees covered by this Agreement at the time it becomes effective, and who are members of the Union at the time, shall be required as a condition of continued employment to continue membership in the Union for the duration of this Agreement. (c) Employees hired, rehired, reinstated, or transferred into the bargaining unit after the effective date of this Agreement and covered by this Agreement shall be required as a condition of continued employment to become members of the Union or pay to the Union each month a service charge in an amount equal to the regular monthly dues, for the duration of this Agreement, on or before the thirtieth (30th) day following the beginning of their employment in the unit. (d) Any employee who is a member of and adheres to established and traditional tenets or teachings of a bona fide religion, body or sect which has historically held conscientious objections to joining or financially supporting labor organizations shall not be required to join or financially support any labor organization as a condition of employment except, that such employee shall be required, in lieu of paying the monthly Union dues uniformly required of all Union members, to pay sums equal to such uniformly required of Union members to The American Cancer Foundation.
Unit Security. The Rental Management Agreement does not include security checks of rental units during unoccupied periods. Unit security is the responsibility of the owner and/or the condominium management company. The Association as exclusive representative of the employees of the unit as described in Article I will represent all such persons fairly, whether members or not. B. No employee shall be required to join the Association, but membership shall be made available to all who apply, consistent with the Association’s Constitution and policies.

Both parties recognize the importance of providing work opportunities for students under the various programs which are available from SEED, Co-op, etc.). Participation by the Board in such programs will be discussed with the Union and would be on the basis that students would not replace Bargaining Unit members, in whole or in part. It is understood that this clause does not preclude the hiring of students, on a casual basis, for summer projects. (i) The amount of such fee shall be determined by the Association. (ii) The Association will certify the amount of the fee and a list of non-unit members to the School District. The School District shall collect the fee from the non-unit members and transmit the monies to the unit in the same manner specified above for the collection of dues. The District will provide a form to be executed as a condition of employment by each employee not a member of the Association, authorizing a payroll deduction of the representation fee. (iii) Any dispute concerning the amount, propriety, or the method of collection of the representation fee shall be solely between the affected bargaining unit member and the Association. The Association will provide an internal review procedure wherein non-members may challenge the determination of the fee for unit services in representing members of the bargaining unit in the process of negotiating and administering the collective barga...
