Use of Leave Credits. An employee may draw from the employee’s sick leave credits, then compensatory leave credits, then personal leave credits, and then vacation leave credits in conjunction with the short-term disability payments to equal, but not exceed, the employee’s regular daily rate of pay. When the insurance company makes payment, the Town will be reimbursed for that portion of leave covered by the insurance and the employee will be re-credited with the proportional amount of leave.

Use of Leave Credits. The employee may utilize any accumulated leave time (compensatory, deferred hours, annual,) in lieu of taking such time off without pay. Such time off shall not be detrimental in any way to the employee's record. When the employee elects to utilize annual leave credits, the employee may "buy back" such credits without limitation or restriction subject to the following regulations:

The employee shall be entitled to retain any Workers’ Compensation Benefits for any period for which sick leave pay is not paid or payable.

Use of Leave Credits. A pregnant employee, upon request and upon the filing of appropriate medical evidence that such employee is unable to perform the duties of her position due to pregnancy, shall be allowed the use of all accumulated sick days and vacation days, or hours in the case of part- time employees, prior to applying for a maternity leave of absence.

Employees shall be permitted annual leave absence from work for such Union business up to a maximum of their accrued credits. Use of Leave Credits. Employees who test positive for drugs or alcohol shall be permitted upon request to use any/all of their accumulated leave to cover absences directly related to leave for evaluation, treatment and counseling.
