Workyear. A “workyear” shall be determined by the District in accordance with the Assignment Bases established in Board Rule 1990. The District reserves the right to add new bases or modify existing bases to meet the operational needs of the District.

Workyear. 1. The employee work year for each Bargaining Unit classification will be: 1.1. The work year for Instructional Assistants will not go beyond the maximum of the contract year for teachers. 1.2. The work year for Library Assistants will be a maximum of ten (10) days beyond the Instructional Assistant contract. 1.3. The work year for the Food Service Employees will not go beyond the maximum of the contract year for teachers. 1.4. The work year for Security Guards will be equal to the number of student attendance days plus up to three required days of training to be provided and paid for by the District at the employee’s regular hourly rate. 2. All employees will observe unpaid holidays identified as the days students and teachers are not required to attend school. 3. In an unusual or emergency situation, an employee may be required by his supervisor to work on a holiday designated by the school calendar. An employee who is assigned to work on a holiday will be compensated at the rate of twice the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for each hour or fraction of an hour the employee works on the holiday. 4. The seven day work period identified for FLSA purposes is Monday 12:01 am to Sunday Midnight. The normal workweek is Monday through Friday. 5. An employee will not be required to work weekends, exclusive of extra-curricular activities that do not exceed a forty (40) hour week. An employee who agrees, upon request of the supervisor, to work during a weekend will be compensated at a rate equal to one and one-half (1 ½) the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for each hour or fraction of an hour worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a single week. If Compensatory Time is agreed to by the employee and the supervisor, it will be scheduled or taken within twenty (20) days of its having been earned or the time will be compensated with overtime pay. 5.1. The twenty (20) day time limit may be extended by mutual agreement. 6. Employees will also be responsible for keeping a record of earned Compensatory Time, in addition to the employer’s record and will have it signed by the site supervisor. 7. Employees will not be allowed to accrue compensatory time by extending their time or working weekends unless expressly approved by a Supervisor.
Workyear. Education Administrators shall have a workyear beginning September 1 and ending the following August 31. Education Administrators will be paid for all Board of Education holidays and all other days on which their office is closed for special observance or emergency pursuant to action of the Chancellor or community superintendent.
Workyear. The District shall provide the CSEA Chapter a proposal on changes to the school calendar, and shall meet with CSEA as to the structure of each year's calendar prior to adoption by the Board of Trustees. This requirement shall be in addition to any other re-opener provisions pursuant to Article 20.5.

Effective February 2006 full-time adult education teachers shall have 10 minutes of preparation time added to their six-hour workday, and they shall report the Thursday and Friday before Labor Day and on Brooklyn-Queens Day for professional development. The Office of Adult and Continuing Education reserves the right, when programs dictate, to create ten month schedules other than between September and June and other than in a consecutive mode. Furthermore, it may be necessary to continue programs into the summer to meet the 191 ½ days.

Unused emergency days shall not become workdays. The work year for Employees shall not exceed 180 days which shall include the four (4) workshop/in-service days or meet state minimum standards.

WorkyearThe Superintendent agrees to perform the duties of his position for a period of 52 weeks per year consisting of 260 workdays. The Superintendent shall perform the duties of Superintendent in a competent, proficient, and professional manner, and shall not during the term of the Contract be engaged in any other activity for remuneration without prior approval of the Board or its designee. The Superintendent pledges to use his best efforts to maintain and improve the quality and efficiency of the operation of the School District. Being that the responsibilities of the superintendent exist outside of the bounders that can be defined by an hourly process, as well as the positions responsibilities on canceled school days due to weather, the Board will allow four flex days to be used on Friday's during the month of July.

Workyear. Full-time employees have a twelve month year commencing July 1 and consisting of forty-three (43) workweeks, seven (7) weeks of downtime and two (2) vacation weeks. The downtime shall consist of four (4) weeks taken during July and/or August, one (1) week during the winter recess, and one (1) week during the spring recess, and one (1) additional week during the summer or during a school recess, as mutually arranged.
