Workyear. A “workyear” shall be determined by the District in accordance with the Assignment Bases established in Board Rule 1990. The District reserves the right to add new bases or modify existing bases to meet the operational needs of the District.
Workyear. 1. The employee work year for each Bargaining Unit classification will be:
1.1. The work year for Instructional Assistants will not go beyond the maximum of the contract year for teachers.
1.2. The work year for Library Assistants will be a maximum of ten (10) days beyond the Instructional Assistant contract.
1.3. The work year for the Food Service Employees will not go beyond the maximum of the contract year for teachers.
1.4. The work year for Security Guards will be equal to the number of student attendance days plus up to three required days of training to be provided and paid for by the District at the employee’s regular hourly rate.
2. All employees will observe unpaid holidays identified as the days students and teachers are not required to attend school.
3. In an unusual or emergency situation, an employee may be required by his supervisor to work on a holiday designated by the school calendar. An employee who is assigned to work on a holiday will be compensated at the rate of twice the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for each hour or fraction of an hour the employee works on the holiday.
4. The seven day work period identified for FLSA purposes is Monday 12:01 am to Sunday Midnight. The normal workweek is Monday through Friday.
5. An employee will not be required to work weekends, exclusive of extra-curricular activities that do not exceed a forty (40) hour week. An employee who agrees, upon request of the supervisor, to work during a weekend will be compensated at a rate equal to one and one-half (1 ½) the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay for each hour or fraction of an hour worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a single week. If Compensatory Time is agreed to by the employee and the supervisor, it will be scheduled or taken within twenty (20) days of its having been earned or the time will be compensated with overtime pay.
5.1. The twenty (20) day time limit may be extended by mutual agreement.
6. Employees will also be responsible for keeping a record of earned Compensatory Time, in addition to the employer’s record and will have it signed by the site supervisor.
7. Employees will not be allowed to accrue compensatory time by extending their time or working weekends unless expressly approved by a Supervisor.
Workyear. Education Administrators shall have a workyear beginning September 1 and ending the following August 31. Education Administrators will be paid for all Board of Education holidays and all other days on which their office is closed for special observance or emergency pursuant to action of the Chancellor or community superintendent.
Workyear. The workyear begins on September 1 and ends on August 31. Effective February 2006 full-time adult education teachers shall have 10 minutes of preparation time added to their workday, and they shall report the Thursday and Friday before Labor Day and on Brooklyn-Queens Day for professional development. In most cases there will be a ten month year scheduled to the extent possible between September and June. The Office of Adult and Continuing Education reserves the right, when programs dictate, to create ten month schedules other than between September and June and other than in a consecutive mode. Furthermore, it may be necessary to continue programs into the summer to meet the 189 ½ or 191 ½ days.
Workyear. 9.1 The calendar will be 180 instructional days, plus 5 days of additional service. The additional service days will be used for District/site meetings, inservices and professional
Workyear. The regular work year for bus attendants will be 180 days per year plus eight-hours per year for safety workshops.
Workyear. The normal work year shall be 254 days for maintenance, transportation, and custodial employees and 190 days for food service and 188 days for bus drivers. Training days for food service and bus drivers shall coincide with the teacher work year. Maintenance and custodial employees will not work during the winter break. Employees may be employed for a shorter work year when agreed upon with their supervisor at the time of employment. Any such agreements will be reduced to writing and be submitted to the district supervisor or Deputy Superintendent for approval.
Workyear. The school district calendar will be developed by the Superintendent and approved by the Board. The Superintendent may consult with administrators, faculty, and staff in developing the school district calendar. To the extent possible, the calendar will be coordinated with the school calendars of area vocational schools and regional special education programs. Students shall begin school no earlier than 5 calendar days before Labor Day. The work year for teachers shall consist of 186 days, including 180 instructional days for students. The six non-instructional days shall be utilized for professional development activities and for building level activities. Two of these days shall be used at the sole discretion of the administration, and two days shall be developed jointly by the administration and representatives of the LEA. At least a portion of the two jointly developed days will be for activities that may be used for recertification. It is agreed that one day will be used during parent teacher conferences which are held at each school. It is agreed that one day will also be used solely for teachers to prepare their classroom or other workspace prior to the beginning of the school year. No more than three of the six non-instructional days may be scheduled any sooner than seven calendar days before the first day of school for students. Teachers who are contracted to work more than 186 days shall submit biweekly to the principal a list of which days and/or half-days in excess of the 186-day teacher work year they have worked. Any days that the schools are closed for emergency reasons will be made up by first, extending the school year; second, by holding Saturday classes, except when the Saturday immediately precedes or follows a scheduled school vacation period; third, by extending the school day; and then, as a last resort holding classes during a scheduled school vacation period. Under special circumstances, the School Board may request a waiver from the Commissioner of Education for the State School Board of Education attendance requirement. Workyear. AEA members will continue to work their same contractual days as stated in the contract. An additional two (2) days prior to the work year (August 3rd and 4th) will be offered to provide professional development on a paid voluntary basis; schedule TBD. This time must be used on campus or virtual. The PD will include safety procedures, virtual teaching, and the hybrid model. Teachers unable to attend the voluntary PD days will complete the safety training on one of the 3 teacher prep days.
Workyear. 1. Unit members shall provide instruction for 180 days per year and shall render service for four (4) additional days, except for teachers new to the District, who shall render service for five (5) additional days. These additional days may be scheduled before, after, or within the student attendance calendar, except that they shall not be scheduled to start earlier than three (3) days before the first student class day nor shall they end later than three (3) days after the last student class day.

5. Counselor's hours.
a. Counselors shall work ten (10) additional days which will be paid at the same daily rate as the one hundred eighty-four (184) day school year.
b. All counselor work days beyond one hundred eighty-four (184) work days (regular school year) are at the direction of the administration. Additional counselor work days above one hundred eighty-four (184) shall be within ten
