Leave for Other Reasons. Notwithstanding any provisions for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant leave of absence with or without pay to an employee for any other purpose.
Leave for Other Reasons. Where conditions warrant it and an employee has exhausted his personal days, special leave with pay shall be granted, when circumstances not directly attributable to the employee, including illness in the immediate family, as defined in Clause 2.01(m) prevent his reporting for duty. The employee shall make every reasonable effort to arrange matters to allow him to report to work at the earliest opportunity.
Leave for Other Reasons. At its discretion, the Company may grant:
(a) leave with pay when circumstances not directly attributable to the employee prevent him or her from reporting for duty or remaining on duty. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld;
(b) leave with or without pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement.
Leave for Other Reasons. At the discretion of the Employer, special leave with pay may be granted when circumstances not directly attributable to the employee including illness in the immediate family, scheduling of medical or dental appointments prevents the employee reporting for duty. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied.
(a) The Employer may at its discretion grant leaves of absence without pay to an employee. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied.
(b) The Employer may at its discretion and upon such terms as it deems advisable grant leave of absence with pay to an employee.
Leave for Other Reasons. At the discretion of NAV CANADA, leave with pay may be granted when circumstances not directly attributable to the employee, including illness in the immediate family, as defined in clause 26.02, prevent the employee’s reporting for duty. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Leave for Other Reasons. At the discretion of the Employer, special leave with pay may be granted:
Leave for Other Reasons. An employee shall be granted personal unpaid leave when his or her absence is justified as a result of circumstances not directly attributable to the employee.
Leave for Other Reasons. The Employer may grant leave with or without pay for purposes other than those specified in this collective agreement, including:
(a) settling of an estate;
(b) writing of examinations;
(c) conferral of a university degree;
(d) for any purpose deemed by the Employer to be necessary in accordance with the Human Resources Manual.
Leave for Other Reasons. (a) Leave of absence with or without pay, for reasons other than those specified above, may also be granted at the discretion of the Hospital. Providing the duration of the leave of absence granted by the Hospital is one year or less, the Hospital shall return the employee to their former position. Should the position no longer exist, the employee may exercise his rights under Article 20.04.
(b) Where operational requirements permit and upon request, an employee may be granted leave for family commitments. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. An employee shall, at his discretion, use vacation, holidays or accumulated overtime for this leave.
(c) Employees in the bargaining unit shall have the right to apply for Compassionate Care Leave without pay subject to the provisions of the New Brunswick Employment Standards Act as amended from time to time.
(d) An employee named to sit on a Provincial or Federal Council or Commission shall upon request be granted leave of absence without pay and without accumulation of seniority.
(e) The employee shall have the right to apply for a leave of absence with pay of up to one (1) day per calendar year in cases of emergency as defined below, and/or family responsibility requiring the employee’s immediate attention. “Family responsibility” means situations of a non-emergency nature which have a quality of seriousness requiring the employee’s direct attention. Such leave will not be unreasonably requested or withheld. Emergency means a sudden, generally unexpected occurrence or set of circumstances demanding immediate attention.
Leave for Other Reasons. An employee shall be granted special leave with pay to write an examination in a course of study that is, in the opinion of the Employer, directly related to his/her duties.
