ARTICLE SAFETY. The Employer and the Union agree to abide by the regulations and obligations as noted in the Ontario Health and Safety Act and to this end the parties hereto agree that the safety of the employees, students and visitors to the campus of the University of Windsor and the protection of the Employer's plant and equipment is a matter of prime concern. The obligation of each employee to report safety hazards to supervisory personnel of the Employer and to take positive measures to correct the same is acknowledged. Further, the parties acknowledge and agree that the institution and maintenance of appropriate safety measures is a proper subject for consideration at meetings between the Union Administrative Committee and the Employer and matters relating thereto may be placed upon the Agenda for meetings thereof as and when it is considered appropriate so to do. The Union shall appoint a member of the Union Executive or Xxxxxxx Body to the University Central Safety Committee, and if meetings are held during working hours, the employee so appointed shall suffer no loss of wages. The Union shall also appoint a Health Safety Representative on the afternoon shift. The Union shall notify the Director of Personnel Services of the name of its appointees. The Employer will provide copies of all accident investigation reports. Members Committee will also receive quarterly accident reports. The President and Chief Xxxxxxx will also receive copies of Supervisor's Accident Reports, forms and correspondence involving Local members. No Employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until has received proper training and instructions.

ARTICLE SAFETY. The Company agrees to make reasonable and proper provisions for the maintenance of high standards of health and safety in the workplace. The Company shall comply with applicable legislation and regulations. Where the nature of the work or working conditions so require, the employees shall be supplied at the Company’s expense with all necessary tools, protective clothing, safety equipment and other protective devices which shall be maintained and replaced where necessary, at the Company’s expense. The Company will give a copy of the Form to the Plant Chairperson by not later than the working day following the day on which the Form is sent to the Workplace Safety Insurance Board. Where specified by the Company as required for work in the plant, knives, steels, hats, coats, white pants, hair nets, arm guards, gloves, cotton gloves, plastic gloves, plastic aprons, plastic sleeves and rubber boots will be supplied to employees at no cost. Such articles remain the property of the Company and, except with permission, shall not be removed from the Company’s premises and must be returned for new issue or upon separation of the employee. Such articles not returned when out or upon separation will be paid for by the employee. Full-time employees with more than six (6) months of credited service and part-time employees with part-time seniority will normally be supplied with a thermal coat or vest for use on the job at no cost once every three years. If an employee’s thermal becomes worn out prior to the expiry of the three year period, the Company will issue a replacement when required provided that the thermal has only been subjected to normal usage and not to abuse by the employee. The Employer agrees to grant membership on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee to one (1) elected member of the bargaining unit. Programs for the safety education of members will be developed by the Safety Subcommittee of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee. The Employer and members agree to abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to the Employer. ARTICLE SAFETY. The company and the union the importance of promoting safe working conditions and the safe handling of equipment at all times. It is equally to be in the best interests of all parties to at all times comply with the statutes and regulations which pertain to the operation of commercial vehicles. In the event that an employee detects any unsafe conditions as defined by the Ministry of Transport, in the vehicle that he/she is to operate, he/she shall be entitled to refuse to operate such vehicle unless it is properly repaired. It is understood that there is a specific obligation on the part of employees to immediately report to the company an accident involving a company vehicle. ARTICLE SAFETY. The Corporation shall observe all reasonable- precautions for the safety of its employees and shall supply such safety equipment as is necessary. All employees shall co-operate with the Corporation in the prevention of accidents and shall from time to time make recommendations to the Corporation as to the prevention of accidents. Safety boots are to be worn at all times during working hours. If an employee reports to work without aforementioned safety boots, he will be sent home for one- half day without pay. Safety shoes must be purchased by the employees for work. The safety shoe truck will make visits as. required to the Town Garage so that employees may purchase shoes when required. In the event an employee is eligible to return to the work place to perform modified duties, the employee shall be paid for all hours worked at the applicable rate of pay, subject to an amount equivalent to ten percent (10%) of the applicable rate of pay being deducted from the employee's sick leave credits. In the event an employee exhausts all sick leave credits, the employee shall be paid ninety percent (90%) of the applicable rate of pay for all hours worked and for such time that the employee remains on modified duties. The Corporation will request the employee attend his physician with a list of modified duties the Corporation has available to the employee, and the physician will advise the Corporation of the appropriate modified duties the employee could perform.

ARTICLE SAFETY. The Company shall make every effort to furnish and maintain safe working gear and equipment for the protection of its employees and shall continue to make reasonable provisions and rules for their safety. The Union agrees to co-operate with the Company in promoting safe practices by reporting hazardous situations to the supervisor who shall endeavour, whenever practicable, and with the least possible delay to have the situation rectified. It is agreed that any safety regulations that the Company may have or put into effect will be strictly adhered to by employees. Violations of such regulations will warrant disciplinary action. The Company agrees to make rain suits available for the use of employees while on duty. The Company policy with respect to safety footwear will apply to employees covered by this Agreement.
