Autism. Full-time paraprofessionals (6 hours or more) working in the District’s specially designed classes for children with autism (excluding those at ESE center schools) will receive a supplement of $535 to be paid in two equal installments. Those paraprofessionals working less than full-time will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the number of hours they work per day in a specially designed class for autism. The first installment will be paid the last check in December. The second installment will be paid in the final check of the school year. A. All educational support employees are paid an hourly rate according to the employee’s paygrade and years experience using Salary Schedule 3 & 3A.

Autism. A developmental dis- ability significantly affecting verbal and non-verbal communication and so- cial interaction generally evident be- fore age 3 that adversely affects edu- cational performance. Characteristics of autism include irregularities and impairments in communication, en- gagement in repetitive activities and stereotyped movements, resistance to environmental change or change in daily routines, and unusual responses to sensory experiences. The term does not include children with characteris- tics of the disability of serious emo- tional disturbance.
Autism. 7.7.9.1 The physical health services that the autism population need to access through specialists as gastroenterologists, neurologists, allergists, and dentists, will be offered through Special Coverage. The Uniform Guide for Special Coverage (Attachment 7 to this Contract) includes the procedures to follow for this condition. The MBHO will cover all Behavioral Health Services relating to autism, including collaboration and integration with any treatment plan developed by the Contractor. The Contractor shall submit, according to the timeframes set forth in Attachment 12 to this Contract, a plan for coordination with the MBHO to meet the integration requirement.
7.7.9.2 The Contractor shall require in its Provider Contracts with PCPs that the PCP carry out the M-CHAT screen to detect Autism in Enrollees under age eighteen (18) months, or in any other age range established by the Department of Health. Once the PCP diagnoses autism, the PCP will refer the patient to the mental health Provider. The M-CHAT test may be accessed through the Internet, and does not entail any cost, nor does it infringe any copyright.
7.7.9.3 The Contractor shall also require, through its Provider Contracts, that PCPs administer the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) to the parents of child Enrollees. This questionnaire must be completed when the child is nine (9), eighteen (18), and thirty (30) months old, or at any other age established by the Department of Health. ASES acquired the license for the exclusive use child Enrollees in MiSalud and will provide the questionnaires to the Contract, which shall transmit the questionnaire to PCPs and mentor them in its use.
7.7.9.4 The Contractor shall audit PCPs’ use of the M-CHAT and ASQ as part of its Physician Incentive Plan.

BREAST CANCER PATIENT CARE Covered Services include Inpatient care following a mastectomy or lymph node dissection for an appropriate length of stay as determined by the attending Physician in consultation with the Member. Follow-up visits are also included and may be conducted at home or at the Physician’s office as determined by the attending Physician in consultation with the Member. Additional charges may apply. Mastectomy bras are covered, up to 3 per calendar year. BREAST RECONSTRUCTIVE CARE Covered Services include care following a mastectomy for reconstruction of the breast on which the mastectomy was performed, surgery and reconstruction of the other breast to produce a symmetrical appearance, and prostheses and treatment of physical complications, including lymphedemas. CLINICAL TRIAL PROGRAMS FOR TREATMENT OF CHILDREN’S CANCER

This Contract shall provide benefits for the diagnosis of autism in accordance with the conditions, schedule of benefits, limitations as to type and scope of treatment authorized for neurological disorders, exclusions, cost-sharing arrangements and copayment requirements which exist in this contract for neurological disorders. This contract provides for habilitative or rehabilitative services (including applied behavior analysis) and other counseling or therapy services necessary to develop, maintain, and restore the functioning of an individual with ASD who is six years of age or under. There is an annual cap of $30,000 on claims paid for applied behavior analysis for the purpose of treating a person with ASD when applying the benefits required by Georgia House Bill 429. This cap only applies to applied behavior analysis and does not apply to the other treatments (such as counseling or therapy services) which may be required by HB 429. Covered Services are provided for Inpatient care following a mastectomy or lymph node dissection until the completion of an appropriate period of stay as determined by the attending Physician in consultation with the Member. Follow-up visits are also included and may be conducted at home or at the Physician’s office as determined by the attending Physician in consultation with the Member. Additional charges may apply. 7.7.9.2 The Contractor shall require in its Provider Contracts with PCPs that the PCP carry out the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (“M-CHAT R/F”) In its last version for the screening of autism spectrum disorders at eighteen (18) or twenty-four (24) months of age, or in any other age range established by the Department of Health. The Contractor and Providers should follow the “Protocolo Uniforme de TEA” government plan version, published by the Department of Health.
7.7.9.3 The Contractor shall also require, through its Provider Contracts, that PCPs administer the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (“ASQ”) to the parents of child Enrollees. This questionnaire must be completed when the child is nine (9), eighteen (18), and thirty (30) months old, or at any other age established by the Health Department. Each Contractor shall acquire the license for the exclusive use of the questionnaire for child Enrollees in the GHP and transmit the questionnaire to PCPs and train and educate them in its use.
Autism. A maximum of eight students, plus at least 12 hours per day of paraeducator time. When the class size exceeds eight students, the employee and the district coordinator of the Autism program will discuss choosing overload pay or adding a six-hour program needs paraeducator. When the class size exceeds 12 students, the employee and the district coordinator of the Autism program will discuss choosing overload pay or adding an additional six-hour program needs paraeducator. A maximum of seven students per half-day session, plus at least six hours per day of paraeducator time.
Autism. All expenditures authorized for early intervention services for children with autism
