Building Meetings. 21.01 At least two times per year each building administrator will hold a meeting with their respective custodial staff.
Building Meetings. Upon prior request, the Association shall be given a place on the agenda of all faculty meetings called by the building principal.
Building Meetings. All building meetings involving teachers shall be considered a part of the regular duties of teachers. The building administrators will try to hold down the number of obligatory teachers' meetings to a minimum level. Such meetings will commence as soon as possible after the dismissal of students and will commence no more than one (1) hour prior to the scheduled student arrival time.
Building Meetings. All members shall attend the scheduled Tuesday building staff meetings. Staff meetings may be held in the member’s building before or after school as determined by a majority vote of the school faculty. Evening meetings shall begin within ten (10) to fifteen (15) minutes following school dismissal and shall not exceed one (1) hour in length nor extend beyond 5:00 p.m. Morning meetings shall not exceed one (1) hour and shall end not less than ten (10) minutes prior to the beginning of a teacher’s homeroom responsibility. One (1) meeting may be held each month, without restriction on content except that “building concerns” will be the first item of business on the agenda. Members shall not be required to tabulate data during a staff meeting or complete assignments for subsequent meetings. A second meeting may be called in May to address building operations issues related to the closing of school. The agenda for all building staff meetings shall be distributed to the staff at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting. The principal may schedule one (1) staff meeting per school year at another Akron Public Schools building. In case of emergency, the principal may, with the agreement of the AEA Building Representative, call additional building meetings without notice. Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches shall be excused in season from building meetings. Staff meetings shall not be held on election days or on days designated as Open House or Conference Days. The principal shall not require a member to attend a “make-up” staff meeting when a member is unable to attend the regularly scheduled meeting, nor shall the member be required to view a video tape of a missed staff meeting.
Building Meetings. There shall be one regularly scheduled building meeting each month, as set by the building principal at the beginning of the year. The agendas for these monthly meetings may be decided upon cooperatively by the staff and the building principal. These meetings shall not exceed forty (40) minutes in length from inception, unless deemed necessary by the building principal and building CEA representative, cooperatively.
Building Meetings. A. Building meetings shall be those meetings scheduled by the Administration which require attendance of the entire professional staff. Building meetings shall commence within 15 minutes after the close of the students' school day. These meetings will be approximately sixty (60) minutes in duration. B. The number of building meetings shall be limited as follows: 1. Entire building meetings shall not exceed fifteen (15) per school year. Additional meetings may take place by mutual consent of the building staff and building administrator. 2. Department or grade-level meetings shall not exceed ten (10) per school year. Additional meetings may take place by mutual consent of the department or grade-level staff and the appropriate administrator. C. Building meetings will be called when necessary for school business. X. Xxx or evening school-wide parent conferences at which teacher attendance is mandatory will be scheduled by the Administration in the fall and in the spring of each school year. Parent conference days will be early release days for students. No more than two evenings of parent conferences shall be scheduled in the fall and no more than two evenings of conferences shall be scheduled in the spring. K-6 conferences shall be for a minimum of twenty (20) minutes. Building principals may approve an alternate schedule with shorter conference time as warranted by individual class size. Conferences shall be scheduled on these dates at the discretion of the parents and the teachers. When the parent/teacher conferences are completed, the teacher may leave with the approval of the building principal. E. Teachers shall be expected to attend two (2) open houses per school year, however, teachers who work in more than one (1) school shall not be required to attend more than four (4) open houses per school year. In the event of a special circumstance, teachers may be required by their building administrator to attend a third open house. F. A calendar shall be developed by the administration by September 18 of each school year for the purpose of scheduling building meetings for the current school year.

Building Meetings. All building meetings involving members shall be considered as part of the regular duties of members. Members shall not be required to attend more than two (2) staff level meetings per month, except in emergency situations. Meetings held after school shall commence as soon as possible after the dismissal of students and shall not exceed one (1) hour beyond the normal teacher school day. Morning meetings shall not exceed one (1) hour in duration unless the meeting is held on a “late-start day” and the meeting extends into what would normally be student class time.
Building Meetings. Professional Employees shall not be required to attend building meetings or other after-school meetings called by the Principal of a school more than once a month. These meetings should begin within a reasonable amount of time following the end of the work day. Such meetings shall not ordinarily last more than thirty (30) minutes. (Refer to Article 12.A.1.) Building meetings are for operations and not curriculum and instruction. Building meeting topics may include: notification of upcoming events and activities, notifications of trainings, etc., notification of special school-wide and/or district- wide changes, district-wide communications, scheduling notifications, policy/procedural notifications, procedural instruction for administration of state assessments, emergency response procedures, etc. A yearly schedule for monthly Building Meetings will be distributed in September of each year. In the event a meeting has to be rescheduled, the administrator must provide 7 calendar daysnotice of the rescheduled date. If a meeting has been rescheduled, the administrator shall not deny reasonable requests to be excused. New Bedford Educators Association representatives shall be given an opportunity after the end of each meeting to address the faculty concerning association information.
Building Meetings. Building meetings which take place after school hours shall not occur more than once every two (2) weeks and shall not last longer than thirty (30) minutes beyond the staff's normal departure time. Such meetings, except for emergency meetings, shall provide twenty-four (24) hours notice to all employees affected.
