Casual Rates of Pay. 13.1 If you are a casual Employee, you are paid a 20% casual loading (which has been included in the Ordinary Rates of Pay set out in the Schedule for casual Employees) in lieu of entitlement to a number of clauses as specified throughout this Agreement. The following Clauses do not apply to casual Employees: (a) Clause 6 (probationary periods); (b) Clause 12.3 (salaried employees); (c) Clause 15 (trainee rates of pay); (d) Clause 16 (apprentice rates of pay); (e) Clause 24 (hours - permanent sales employees); (f) Clause 25 (hours - permanent production employees); (g) Clause 30 (annual leave); (h) Clause 31 (personal leave); (i) Clause 33 (compassionate leave); (j) Clause 34 (parental leave – unless you are an eligible casual employee as defined in the Workplace Relations Act 1996); (k) Clause 36.3 (public holidays not worked); (l) Clause 45.2 (notice of terminationpermanent Employees); and (m) Clause 47 (redundancy).

Casual Rates of Pay. 8.1 An employee engaged as a casual will be paid a 25 per cent casual loading in addition to the appropriate hourly rate of pay specified in Schedule 1. 8.2 Where a casual is working shift work the casual loading percentage will be added to the shift penalty and then applied to the base rate of pay. For example, a casual employee working rotating shifts will be paid a total penalty of 35 per cent for day shift and 40 per cent for night shift. 8.3 The casual loading will not be paid for any period of overtime. 8.4 Casual employees will not have access to any form of paid leave, other than Long Service Leave, and will not be paid for a public holiday unless they work on that day.
Casual Rates of Pay. 9.1 Employees engaged as casuals will be paid a loading of 20% on the minimum hourly payment for the relevant classification, and for the relevant day provided for in Clause 8.1 above. When vacancies arise in any base, the next crew member on the Base Transfer List will be allocated that slot. Any outstanding vacancies will then be filled by external recruitment. • A Flight Attendant who is permanently transferred shall be given at least four weeks notice prior to the transfer unless otherwise mutually agreed. • All relocation expenses are the responsibility of the Flight Attendant • Request transfers shall be awarded in the order that applications are received. Where two or more applications are lodged on the same date, the position on the Base Transfer list will be determined by date of joining. • New cabin crew under initial training are not eligible to apply for a base transfer unless otherwise agreed. An application may be lodged on the successful completion of the probationary period • Only permanent employees of Sunstate Airlines (QLD) may apply for a base transfer. Fixed term or casual cabin crew are not eligible to apply. • Part time employees must return to full time status in order to take up a base transfer unless a part time transfer is available. • Dependent upon base requirements at the time of transfers becoming available, cabin crew check and trainers may be offered a return to the position of Flight Attendant for the purposes of the transfer • Application to be placed on the Base Transfer List is to be made on the Base Transfer Application form available from. The form must be signed by both the Flight Attendant and the relevant manager. The form will then be submitted to the Company. • Applications are entered in order of the date received. If more than one application is received on the same day then date of joining (seniority) will determine the order of receipt. • An updated base transfer list is distributed to all bases by the Company at regular intervals. • A Flight Attendant may withdraw themselves from the base transfer list at any time by competing a Base Transfer Application Withdrawal form. The form must be signed by both the Flight Attendant and the relevant manager. Casual Rates of Pay. 14.1 Subject to clause 14.2, an Employee engaged as a Casual will be paid on an hourly basis at the appropriate hourly rate plus 20 per cent of the Employee’s base rate of pay. 14.2 OCS may agree to pay a Casual a rate of pay that is inclusive of the 20 per cent casual loading without specifying the Employee’s base rate of pay. 14.3 Casuals will not have access to any form of paid leave, other than Long Service Leave.
