College Review Committee. In keeping with Article 15.10 in a departmentalized College, the powers of the College Review Committee with respect to renewal of probation and tenure shall be: (i) to co-opt tenured employees to renewals and tenure committees where the membership is fewer than five; (ii) from time to time to require that departments review and revise standards of performance; (iii) to receive and review departmental criteria and standards of performance for renewal of probation and tenure and use them as the basis for formulating College criteria and standards. The College Review Committee shall establish criteria and standards after receiving and reviewing standards from all departments. If a department does not develop standards within a reasonable time after being requested to do so by the College Review Committee, the College Review Committee may use the standards developed by the other departments in the college as the basis for formulating College criteria and standards; (iv) to submit the College's criteria and standards of performance for renewal of probation and tenure to the University Review Committee for approval; (v) to approve departmental criteria and standards of performance for renewal of probation and tenure if they are consistent with the criteria and standards of the College and the University. In the absence of approved Department standards the College standards shall apply; (vi) to review departmental recommendations for renewal of probation and tenure and approve them if they are not inconsistent with the criteria and standards of performance established by the Department and College; (vii) to review departmental recommendations against renewal of probation and award of tenure, receiving and considering a written appeal and hearing an oral presentation from the employee concerned, if that employee wishes to present such evidence in accordance with Article 14.5.5 or Article 15.11.6; (viii) to submit the College’s positive recommendations for renewal of probation to the President for transmission to the Board; its negative recommendations for renewal of probation to the University Review Committee; all its recommendations concerning the award of tenure to the University Review Committee.

College Review Committee. There shall be a College Review Committee (hereinafter CRC) in each undergraduate college. The CRC may include between four (4) and seven (7) members of the bargaining unit in each college. Membership of each CRC shall consist of tenured faculty at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor who have served a minimum of one (1) complete year at their current rank. In a year when the CRC reviews applicants to the rank of Senior Lecturer, there shall be at least one Senior Lecturer in the CRC. Applicants for promotion shall be ineligible to serve on the CRC. The CRC members may serve no more than two consecutive one (1) year terms. The number of members is to be decided by the Xxxx and the Xxxx’x Advisory Committee. The election of the CRC shall be managed by the Xxxx. Probationary faculty, tenured faculty, Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, and Chairs may vote for the CRC members. Each Xxxx will send a list of the CRC members to Human Resources by November 1. The Xxxx of the college will convene the first meeting of the CRC. The CRC will select its Chair. The Xxxx shall attend the CRC meetings as an observer but shall withdraw prior to the formulation of any recommendations. The CRC will employ the Guidelines for Promotion in reviewing promotion applicants. An applicant for promotion will have the right to appear before speaking on their behalf. The CRC may seek further input from the DRC Chair, the Department Chair, and other faculty members as it deems appropriate. By November 30, the CRC Chair will forward the decision of the CRC to the applicant, the Xxxx, the Department Chair, the Chair of each DRC, the Chief Human Resource Officer, and the Association President. Applicants who are not recommended may meet with the Xxxx and the Chair of the CRC within fifteen (15) days of notification to discuss the reason for the decision. By December 10, the Xxxx submits their recommendation to Xxxxxxx. Xxxx notifies the candidate of their recommendation By January 10, the Xxxxxxx shall transmit their recommendation and those of the Xxxx, the Department Chair, and the tenured department faculty and senior lecturers to the President of the University. By January 20, the President shall send written notification to the approved faculty members that their Tenure, Tenure with Promotion, or Promotion will become effective in the next academic year.

College Review Committee. For departmentalized Colleges, the membership of the College Review Committee shall be the same in the case of salary recommendations as in the case of tenure. A committee member whose own case is considered shall still participate on the committee, except that when the committee member’s own case is considered the committee member will be excluded from the proceedings of the committee. 17.3.4.1 The College Review Committee may delegate its powers to one or more subcommittees. A subcommittee shall consist of the Xxxx as chair and a minimum of two other members of the College Review Committee.

Employees shall be nominated by the Nominations Committee of their College and approved by the College with the length of their term specified so as to ensure a reasonable turnover of membership. Employees shall not serve on a College Review Committee if they have agreed to serve on the University Review Committee in that academic year. The College Nominations Committee shall strive to achieve representation from a wide range of disciplinary areas while also respecting the commitment to diversity (Article 7).

College Review Committee. 1. All colleges shall have college-wide tenure and/or promotion review committees. The college-wide review committees shall provide a separate and independent recommendation of each candidate for tenure and/or promotion. The order of recommendations is sequential, not hierarchical. The guidelines for each college shall include procedures for constituting college-wide review committees. 2. In colleges without departments that constitute tenure and promotion committees as committees of the whole tenured bargaining unit, the tenure and/or promotion committee shall also operate as the college- wide review committee. 3. In colleges with departments, and colleges without departments that establish separate tenure and/or promotion committees, the college- wide review committees shall be composed of no fewer than five (5) members elected from the tenured bargaining unit of the college. Each college shall develop guidelines for the election process and the voting process, including guidelines for replacing members unable to serve and for selecting members from outside the college if needed. 4. A committee member from the department of the candidate being considered shall not participate in the discussion or voting concerning said candidate. 5. Members of the college-wide review committees shall meet the following criteria: a. Members of the college-wide tenure review committees shall be tenured bargaining unit members.

The College Review Committee shall not revise in any way these decisions for the award of Special Increases;

The College Review Committee shall not revise in any way these decisions for the award of Special Increases; (vi) review recommendations from the Salary Committees for Special Increases and to award up to two Special Increases provided that the combined maximum award from other committees and the college is no more than two special increases for any individual; (vii) award up to two Special Increases to employees who may not have been recommended for merit by the Salary Committees; (viii) recommend to the President's Review Committee Special Increases for those eligible employees in the College who may merit an award or an additional award; (ix) inform individual employees of the outcome of their salary review; (x) inform Salary Committees in the College of the College Review Committee’s rankings, decisions for the award of Special Increases and recommendations to the President’s Review Committee, as well as the Committee’s reasons for such rankings, awards and recommendations; (xi) submit the College's and Department’s decisions for the award of Special Increases to the President for the information of the Board; (xii) review the consistency and appropriateness of the rankings, awards and recommendations of Salary Committees in the College and communicate to those Committees the results of the review.
