Continuous Shift Work. Continuous Shift Work means ordinary hours of work carried on with consecutive shifts of people throughout the 24 hours of each of at least six consecutive days without interruption, except during breakdowns or meal breaks or due to unavoidable causes beyond the control of the Company. Saturday/Sunday/Public Holiday Shifts
Continuous Shift Work. Continuous shift work is when at the completion of a shift, a second shift continues to execute the work.
Continuous Shift Work. (a) The hours of work for shift workers shall be as per the hours of work for full-time Employees, provided that the method of working shifts by shift workers shall be as mutually agreed upon between the employer and the Employee's representative and/or a majority of the Employees involved.
(b) Where an Employee is engaged on an afternoon or night shift for not less than 5 afternoons or nights, a fifteen per cent all-purpose loading shall be paid in addition to the normal rates of pay. This extra rate shall not apply to shift work performed on Saturdays and/or Sundays where weekend penalty rates apply.
(c) Where and Employee is engaged on an afternoon or night shift for less than 5 consecutive shifts, Employees shall be paid double the ordinary rate of pay for all hours worked. For the avoidance of doubt, such time shall still count as ordinary hours worked where appropriate.
(d) Where more than one shift of workers is employed they shall be changed if possible in weekly alteration or rotation.
(e) In all cases where shift work is performed, one and a-half times ordinary rates shall be paid for ordinary hours worked on a designated Saturday shift and double time for ordinary hours worked on a designated Sunday shift.
(f) All time worked in excess of the ordinary hours shall be paid for at double the ordinary time rate.
(g) If a holiday mentioned in clause 7.1 falls on a day on which a shift worker is rostered off, an extra day shall be added to annual leave.
Continuous Shift Work. (i) The following mechanism will manage the introduction of continuous shift operation at the Wetherill Park location.
(a) Should the Company wish to introduce continuous shift operations in all or part of its operations it will first seek volunteers, over a period of 5 working days from that part of the business that it intends to introduce continuous shift work. Should the majority of employees in that part of the business agree to the introduction of continuous shift operations then the Company shall have the right to introduce continuous shift operations. Employees will be given a minimum of 10 working days notice prior to commencing continuous shift work.
(b) Should the Company not receive a majority vote to commence continuous shift in step 1. above, the Company will have the option to seek expressions of interest from other suitably skilled and trained employees, from departments outside the area where continuous shift is intended to be implemented. Only employees who can operate in a safe and productive manner will be considered for continuous shift work. Employees will be given a minimum of 10 working days notice prior to commencing continuous shift work.
(c) Should the Company not receive sufficient expressions of interest to effectively deploy enough labour to meet production needs, the Company can relocate labour to ensure continuous shifts can be introduced effectively. No employee shall be forced to work more than two months of continuous shift work in any twelve month period.
(ii) It is understood by the parties that the implementation of continuous shift operations may occur as a result of insufficient employees making themselves available to undertake overtime on weekends and that it is a condition of the employment contract, the award and this agreement, that employees make themselves available to work reasonable overtime.
(iii) The Company commits to giving as much communication and pre-warning as could be reasonably expected to ensure employees have sufficient time to prepare to commence continuous shift work.
(iv) It is understood that in some circumstances an employee may be required to work contrary to their preference. Any disputes arising from this shall be dealt with under dispute settlement procedure in this agreement.
Continuous Shift Work. 17.1 Continuous shift work means work carried on with consecutive shifts of Employees throughout the 24 hours of each of at least six consecutive days without interruption except for breakdowns or meal breaks or due to unavoidable causes beyond the control of HCA.
17.2 Subject to 17.3 the ordinary hours of continuous shift workers are, at the discretion of HCA, to average 38 hours per week inclusive of meal breaks and must not exceed 152 hours in 28 consecutive days. Continuous shift workers are entitled to a 20 minute meal break on each shift which shall be counted as time worked and paid as such.
17.3 By agreement between HCA and the Employee concerned, a roster system may operate on the basis that the weekly average of 38 ordinary hours is achieved over a period which exceeds 28 consecutive days but does not exceed 12 months.
Continuous Shift Work. 22.6.1 All continuous shift work is on the basis of 12-hour shifts and except by agreement, Shift Workers shall not be rostered to work more than 4 shifts in any seven-day period.
22.6.2 Continuous shift workers shall perform additional periods of duty to meet operational requirements eg To complete tasks already commenced, respond to emergency conditions, for the purpose of handing over shifts, or to make up the completion of the next/previous shift.
21.6.3 No extra payment over and above the Personal Salary shall be paid to Shift Workers for any additional hours worked in accordance with this sub-clause.
Continuous Shift Work. (10.1) (a) The ordinary hours of continuous shift employee shall average 38 per week (inclusive of crib time) and shall not exceed 152 hours in 28 consecutive days. Provided that a roster system may operate on the basis that the weekly average of 38 ordinary hours is achieved over a period which exceeds 28 consecutive days.
Continuous Shift Work a) Shift cover will be provided as requested (within reason) to meet the business needs of the Employer. Each team will formulate the methods that are required to meet this cover and these will be reviewed periodically during each year.
Continuous Shift Work. All employees shall be entitled to 42 hours sick leave after 3 months in the first year of service and 96 hours in the second and subsequent years.
Continuous Shift Work a combination of days and hours and/or rostered shift agreed between the parties commencing at 7.00am or 7.00pm and completed at 7.00pm or 7.00am, that being 12 hours.
