Extra-Curricular Trips. A. Extra curricular trips will be assigned from seven (7) availability lists:
1. Trips occurring during school hours. (Day)
2. Trips occurring after school hours. (Night)
3. Trips occurring on weekends and isolated holidays. (Weekend)
4. Trips occurring on three (3) day or longer holidays will be assigned from special pre-posted sign-up list. (Holiday)
5. Trips that are in town but conflict with the regular schedule and can be split between two (2) drivers. (Split)
6. Trips occurring during the school day that conflict with regular runs but result in three (3) or more hours additional pay with a non-city destination. (Switch regular) This applies to drivers who are contracted for less than eight (8)hours per day only.
7. Trips occurring during the school day that conflict with regular runs but result in three (3) or more hours additional pay with a city (New York, Philadelphia or Trenton only) destination. (Switch city) This applies to drivers who are contracted for less than eight hours per day only.
8. Any driver not previously on the trip lists, may request to have their name placed on the lists by memo five (5) days in advance.
Extra-Curricular Trips a. A Bus Driver’s trip will be defined as the transportation of students to and from regularly scheduled academic activities as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.
b. All single trips up to one (1) hour in length shall be paid as though the trip took one (1) full clock hour. All trips between one (1) and two (2) hours in length shall be paid as though the trip took two (2) full clock hours. Any trip that is over two (2) hours in length shall be paid a pro rated hourly amount in ten (10) minute segments based on the hourly rate.
c. With respect to extra-curricular activities, the parties agree that for all runs involving 8 or less students, the Employer shall have the option to use a van or small bus and have a coach, advisor, and/or other representative of the Employer drive the same. All other trips shall continue as at present, subject to the overtime provisions of this Agreement.
Extra-Curricular Trips. No employee of the school district presently excluded from the certification by the Labour Relations Board shall drive any vehicle for which a Class driving license is required, except in the case of an emergency or where no bargaining unit employee is available.
Extra-Curricular Trips. Drivers shall be paid $20.00 per trip, plus the per kilometer rate for actual kilometers travelled, plus the minimum wage rate for wait time.
i. Day Trips: Wait time to a maximum of 8 hours per day with additional hours paid at the overtime rate of double (2X) the minimum rate.
Extra-Curricular Trips. Driving for extra trips and other extra-curricular trips must be approved by the Superintendent of Schools and the Director of Transportation and Maintenance.
1. All drivers have an opportunity to sign up for extra-curricular trips. Trips will be awarded on a rotated basis from the seniority list.
2. If a driver does not desire extra trips, he/she shall have the option of withdrawing his/her name from the rotation list.
3. The Director of Transportation and Maintenance shall assign buses and drivers for all extra- curricular trips.
4. Any coach, or advisor, who is also a certified or classified employee of Xxxxxxx Xxxxx Local Schools, with the proper credentials, will have the first opportunity to drive for their athletic contests.
5. When a member of the certified staff uses a regularly assigned bus for an extracurricular trip, it is expected that the bus will be returned in the same degree of cleanliness as when taken.
6. Drivers are responsible for transporting only authorized personnel unless prior approval is obtained.
7. Regular drivers will be able to take field trips and place substitute on regular route if the trip pay exceeds the regular route pay for the day/shift.
8. Overnight Trips: Drivers on overnight trips will be paid up to twelve (12) hours per day. The Superintendent may approve additional hours on an as needed basis.
9. Minimum Pay: The Board will provide a minimum of two (2) hours of compensation for any extracurricular trip which is outside of the regular student day.

6. Down Time
a. Drivers shall be paid “standing time” or “down time” for all of the time a driver is on duty and not driving a bus. “On duty” means that the driver is away from the central bus storage station waiting to complete the transportation of students.
Extra-Curricular Trips. “Driving time” will be defined as the time the bus leaves the bus lot until arrival at the destination and from the time the bus leaves from the destination until the bus returns to the bus lot. Fifteen (15) minutes will be allowed for the pre-trip inspections and bus clean-up. Bus drivers on extra-curricular trips will be paid beginning bus driver rate of pay for on- the-road driving time including time spent on the road due to emergencies such as mechanical breakdowns or emergency delays Driving Time Rate of Pay: Beginning Bus Driver Rate of Pay Bus drivers will receive Florida minimum wage for non-driving time (wait time). For overnight or weekend trips, compensation at the Florida minimum wage will only apply to time between the beginning and end of the student activity. Non-driving Time Rate of Pay: Florida Minimum Wage (Note: Becomes effective on date of ratification and School Board approval.)
Extra-Curricular Trips. For extra-curricular trips, the provisions of Appendix A (Bus Driver Administrative Policy) shall apply. A part-time employee working fewer than the regular working hours per day or week shall be paid at overtime rates for hours worked beyond the normal working hours identified in Schedule B.
Extra-Curricular Trips. 2 Extracurricular trips with eight (8) passengers and one driver or less may take an owned motor 3 pool vehicle. Nine (9) passengers or more will require transportation by buses if buses are 6 The district shall offer trips to drivers based on the criteria outlined in paragraph two of this 7 section. In the event that a trip is not filled with a driver, then the district shall fill the need as 8 desired.
Extra-Curricular Trips. At the start of each new school year, a list will be compiled of all drivers (including spare drivers) wishing to be offered Extra-Curricular/Field Trips. Whenever possible, the transportation supervisor will offer available extra curricular/field trips on a rotational basis, taking into consideration school service area, length of trip and whether or not the bus driver’s regular bus run will be affected. At all times regular bus runs shall receive priority.
