High School Day Clause Samples

The 'High School Day' clause defines what constitutes a standard school day for high school students within the context of the agreement. It typically specifies the start and end times, the number of instructional hours, and may outline any exceptions such as early release or special schedules. By clearly establishing the parameters of a high school day, this clause ensures all parties have a mutual understanding of scheduling expectations and helps prevent disputes related to attendance, staffing, or contractual obligations tied to the school calendar.
High School Day. The parties hereto agree that there will be an eight (8) period high school day.
High School Day. 1. Teachers shall be assigned six (6) periods (instructional, academic, intervention/assistance, or duty) every year. Of that total five (5) will be graded instructional assignments or a period requiring instructional preparation. 2. Members may volunteer to teach a sixth course in lieu of a duty assignment. Members who volunteer to teach a sixth course will be compensated by supplemental contract at .80 of the supplemental schedule for a full year course and .40 of the supplemental schedule for a semester course based on a 50-minute class period. Classes less than 50 minutes will be prorated. A sixth class constitutes the teaching of six separate class periods. 3. Duties related to Continuous Improvement/school improvement requirements may be assigned by the building principal. Reasonable efforts will be made to assign staff on an equitable basis to instructional and non-instructional duty. Members may switch duties with their colleagues with the approval of the administration. Cafeteria duty will be rotated every semester. 4. A performance-based job description has been adopted for the high school department chairperson. 5. Members shall receive one (1) period of continuous personal planning time equal to the length of one instructional period.
High School Day. In high schools, the regular school day for assigned teaching, planning and consultation functions shall be exactly seven (7) hours and fifteen (15) minutes, which shall include a fifty-five (55) minute duty-free lunch. Beginning with the 2003-2004 school year, the high school duty period will be eliminated.
High School Day. 1. High School teachers shall have a minimum of one (1) period free each day from interruption for planning purposes. 2. High School teachers will have a seven and one-half (7-1/2) hour day consisting of six (6) teaching periods, one and one-half (1-1/2) planning periods and one-half (1/2) hour duty free lunch period. There will be no more than three (3) preparations for any teacher unless the parties agree otherwise. Inclusion as a preparation shall be referred to the Legal Mandates Committee. 3. No high school teacher, except for physical education and music, will have more than 156 students per day and principals in conjunction with the superintendent, will make every effort to equalize class size. 4. In September of each year the building principal will meet with the CPEA building representative at her/his request to review and discuss duty assignments for that year.
High School Day a. The high school teachers' workweek shall be no longer than 32 hours and 25 minutes (32:25) per week exclusive of lunch. b. Employee’s lunch period on “C” days may be shortened if necessary to accommodate student instructional minutes but shall not be less than 35 minutes. If an adjusted schedule is necessary on a particular day(s) that may cause the employee lunch to be shorter, modifications will be determined between the building administrator and the Association building representatives. b. Each full time employee will be responsible for teaching six periods of 90 minutes or less in an A/B day cycle, with shorter periods on C days. In addition, employees will be responsible for monitoring students and/or providing assistance in the Seminar periods c.
