Holiday Closure. The City Manager may determine that all non-essential City operations close for a Holiday Closure during the Christmas and New Year holidays. In such event, employees shall be encouraged to take time off; however, it shall not be a requirement. Employees electing to take time off may choose to take vacation, compensatory time, personal leave or lost time during the closure period. Employees who take lost time during the closure shall continue to receive the following accruals: vacation, sick leave, citywide and Department seniority.

Department Directors or designees will determine which services will remain open. In the event of a holiday closure and with approval of the Department Director or designee, employees may take time off during the closure period, but taking time off shall not be a requirement.
Holiday Closure. Contingent upon approval of this same provision by the Mid Management Employee Group, the City will close non-safety functions of City services between Christmas Day (December 25, 2019) and New Years’ Day (January 1, 2020). The City will provide for employees who are not normally required to work on holidays their normally scheduled work days between December 25, 2019 and January 1, 2020 as days off with no loss in pay. For any employee whose position with the City requires they work a normally scheduled shift during the dates identified above, the equivalent number of hours may be banked as Holiday Time to be used at a later date with prior approval of the City Manager. Such approval must be requested in writing before December 15, 2019.
Holiday Closure. If enterprise operations make it necessary, the holidays start at the closure of this. Otherwise, holidays will be implemented by successively giving the employees time off for holiday.
Holiday Closure. Employees who are normally scheduled to work will be granted three (3) days leave of absence with pay to be taken between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day unless they are required to work for operational reasons. Employees who are required to work during this period shall be paid at straight time and granted three (3) paid leave of absence days at some other mutually agreeable time.

Holiday Closure. City facilities will close for a period of approximately two weeks in December of each year of the agreement with time off for non-essential personnel.
