Leave of Absence for Union Duties. An employee who is elected or appointed to an office with the Union shall, upon application in writing by the Union to the Clerk-Treasurer, be granted leave of absence, without pay, for a period of three (3) months. Upon similar application by the Union within the period of such leave, the employee shall be granted an extension thereof upon similar terms.

Upon written authority from the Local Union, the Company will pay the employee's regular pay for the absence and the Local Union will reimburse the Company for such payments. The Union agrees to co-operate with the Company in order that disruption of business may be minimized.
