PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. 26.3.1 When an Employee temporarily relieves in, or performs the principle duties temporarily of a higher paying position for which a salary range has been established, they shall receive the next higher step or a minimum of ten per cent (10%), whichever is greater, but in no event shall the increase be greater than the salary of the person replaced.
26.3.2 When the higher position is outside the bargaining unit, the Employee shall receive the rate of pay for the position filled but in any event the increase shall not be less than ten per cent (10%), however, at no time shall the increase be greater than the salary of the person replaced.
26.3.3 The Employee shall be deemed to be covered by all provisions of this Collective Agreement, including check-off of Union dues, during the period of temporary transfer.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. An employee who is temporarily assigned to perform the duties of a position which has a higher pay rate than the position normally held shall be paid the negotiated rate for each full day of the assignment. For the purpose of pension eligibility, the assignment shall be deemed to be an acting assignment.
(a) When a job is being performed involving three (3) or more persons of the same classification, a Working Charge Hand shall be designated. The most senior person on the job, with ability, shall be designated and shall be paid at the rate of: per hour above the employee’s regular rate of pay. For the purposes of this article, any maintenance worker(s) assigned to assist another classification shall be counted as a person of that classification. Additionally, for the purposes of this Article, Maintenance Workers I, II, and III shall be considered as being the same classification.
(b) Employees who are designated as Estimators or Inspectors will receive the Working Charge Hand rate for the period they are so designated.
(c) Employees who are designated as Senior Storesperson, Maintenance Worker Charge Hand and Dispatcher will receive the Working Charge Hand rate.
(d) Staff at the Distribution Centre designated as Charge Hands will receive the Warehouse Receiver rate of pay plus the Working Charge Hand rate.
(e) When the Xxxxxxx requires assistance with a large-scale project or projects, the Manager may on the recommendation of the Xxxxxxx appoint an employee as Assistant Xxxxxxx. Employees who are designated Assistant Xxxxxxx will be paid: per hour over and above the rate of the highest paid tradesman that they co-ordinate.
(f) When the Manager requires assistance, the Manager may appoint an existing Xxxxxxx as Senior Xxxxxxx. Employees who are designated Senior Xxxxxxx will be paid: per hour over and above the rate of the highest paid Xxxxxxx assigned to them.
(g) Increases to the allowances in this article will be consistent with the date and amount of increases to the wages in Article 24.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. An employee may be directed to temporarily perform duties at a higher classification level.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. Where an employee, at the request of the General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary or section supervisor, performs higher duties when relieving for another employee for one day or more, they shall be paid the higher relevant rate of pay for such day or days.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. 24.1 An Employee who is required by the Company to perform the job of an Employee in a higher classification (as per the Classification Structure of either this Agreement or the Eastern Australia Airlines Group 2 Agreement) shall be paid the rate applicable to the first increment of the higher classification for the whole day or shift involved on such higher level duties.
24.2 Employees who are certified to conduct Dangerous Goods training courses for other Employees shall be paid higher duties at level 4 for all time that they are involved in conducting such training courses.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. 2.9.1 Developmental/Training Prerequisite: an Officer may be required to perform an aggregate of up to fifty six (56) hours of work at a level above their current classification level without additional payment, for the purposes of becoming familiar with the duties required at the higher classification level.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. Where an employee is directed to assume the duties and responsibilities in the role of a Correctional Supervisor the minimum qualifying period to receive a higher duties allowance shall be one full shift where the relevant percentage of work performed is 100%.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. (1) The parties to this Agreement acknowledge that from time to time, staff may be directed to perform some, or all, of the duties and responsibilities of a position of a higher classification to meet operational needs. In these circumstances, staff employed under this Agreement will receive extra remuneration in accordance with the conditions prescribed by the Higher Duties Directive (as amended from time to time), with the exception of the application of the “minimum period” and the “relevant percentage”. In lieu, when an Officer is directed to relieve in a higher classified position that requires them to be qualified as a Senior Protective Security Officer (SPSO) for more than 3 consecutive shifts, the following conditions will apply:
a) Officers who have not completed SPSO training will be entitled to receive an allowance of 90% of the difference between the salary of the Protective Security Officer (PSO) and the minimum salary of the “higher classification level”.
b) Officers who have completed SPSO training, and have been appointed as a SPSO, but who are not employed as a SPSO, will receive a higher duties allowance of 100% when directed to relieve in a higher classified position that requires them to be qualified as a SPSO.
c) Staff who are engaged on shift work and who are directed to assume the roles and responsibilities of a position at a higher classification level for more than 3 consecutive rostered shifts within their standard roster pattern, regardless of whether these consecutive rostered shifts occur on consecutive days, will be eligible for the payment of higher duties allowance.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. Substitution occurs only by assignment and neither employees nor the Supervisor should assume it takes place without voluntary agreement. Where an employee agrees to perform duties of a higher paid position, the rate of pay shall be adjusted equivalent to that of the person replaced, or a minimum of seven (7) percent. Remuneration shall be payable under this subsection for all assigned days worked. Substitution shall not exceed ninety (90) assigned days. Extensions may be granted by agreement between the Employer, the employee and the Union. Periods of temporary performance shall not produce any change in increment date but shall count for increment purposes. The rate in the position shall be, from time to time, adjusted based upon increments received in the employee's regular position.
PERFORMANCE OF HIGHER DUTIES. 7.1 Where an employee at the request of and authorised by the section head, performs higher duties than those specified in their job description when relieving another employee for one half day (4 hours) or more, the employee shall be paid the higher relevant rate for such period providing employees carry out all duties associated with this position.
7.2 Higher duties are to be authorised by the section head or appropriate manager. Where no appropriate authorisation is provided no staff member will undertake higher duties.
7.3 If there is special work being done by a member of the staff, the General Manager will consider any request that an increment be paid weekly where the member of the staff concerned undertakes duties entailing substantial additional responsibility, evidence of such additional responsibility to be submitted with the request.
