Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. 1. A non-probationary career employee may be granted a Personal Leave of Absence without Pay at the sole non-grievable discretion of the University. Such leave shall not exceed six (6) calendar months. Personal Leave without Pay shall not be considered a break in service and shall not determine eligibility for benefits except that the regulations of the retirement systems must be specifically checked to determine the effects of such leave without pay on retirement benefits.
2. The University, at its sole non-grievable discretion, may approve extension of a personal leave of absence without pay. Total leave time is normally not more than twelve (12) months.

Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. CHSPH Faculty members teaching on a semester basis may request an unpaid leave of absence as provided in Section 11.9 of the Agreement for periods of one (1) semester or more.
Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. Faculty members may request (through their chair and xxxx) personal leave without pay for periods of one (1) quarter or more subject to the following provisions:
11.9.1 Such leaves will be granted for no more than one (1) year at a time but may be extended upon approval of the Board of Trustees.
11.9.2 Individuals on a one (1) year leave must notify the University in writing by March 1 whether they will return for the following academic year.
11.9.3 Approved leave time will not count toward years of service. Approved leave without pay will not interrupt years of consecutive service.
11.9.4 A letter of agreement detailing the specific conditions of each leave, including any agreed extensions of a probationary period as described in Section 4.1.2(a), will be prepared by the xxxx in consultation with the chair, signed by the requesting faculty, and submitted to the Chief of Academic Officer for final approval.

Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. 24.01 A department head may grant an employee's request for leave without pay for personal reasons.
(a) Applications for such leave without pay will be submitted in writing by employees to their department head, with copies to the Union and to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources who will make every effort to ensure that all such applications receive equitable treatment throughout the University.
(b) The University will make every reasonable effort to accommodate employees’ requests for personal leave for bona fide equity or medical reasons (e.g. an extension to a maternity or medical leave).
(c) In recognition of the commitment to career development by the University and the Union, the University will make every reasonable effort to approve employees’ requests for personal leave for educational opportunities or requests for job sharing under Article 18.11 to pursue educational programs. In either case an employee must have a minimum of 2 years of service at the University in order to be eligible.
(d) Where the University grants a personal leave for bona fide equity, medical, or educational reasons the Union agrees that, if a temporary appointment in excess of 7 months is required, it may be made in accordance with Article 1.03.
24.03 Given adequate notice, the University will allow an employee time off to accommodate unavoidable personal business appointments, including medical and dental appointments for dependent persons. Such time off will subsequently be made up at a time mutually agreeable to the department head and the employee.
Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. Absence from work in a non-pay status for personal reasons may be requested. Reasons may include, but are not limited to: personal business, travel, and education. Requests must be presented in writing to the Chief of Police or his/her designee and the Chief of Police or his/her designee may in his/her sole discretion grant such leave on such terms and conditions, as he/she deems appropriate.
Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. 20.5.1 Reasons
a. Personal reasons which do not unduly inconvenience the Employer. Any request for a personal leave of absence shall be submitted in writing by the worker/employee to his/her Supervisor no less than five (5) weeks in advance of the time such leave is requested to begin. The request shall state the reason the leave of absence is being requested and the specific length of time off the employee desires. Approval or disapproval for a leave of absence shall be furnished to the employee by the CEO in writing. Leaves of absence without pay may be granted to employees for a period of up to four (4) months. Employees must have exhausted all accrued vacation time prior to taking unpaid time. Requests for personal leaves of absence shall not be unreasonably denied, provided adequate advance notice is given. Exceptions to advance notice requirement may be made for unforeseen circumstances.
Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. An extended leave of absence (for personal reasons) may be granted without pay, upon written application and approval of the Nutrition Services Program Director. The request must be submitted at least ten days prior to the beginning of the leave. Leaves will typically be granted for no more than one school year. An employee who is granted a leave of absence for over 90 days by the School Board shall lose seniority for the period of time the person is on leave (Example: A nutrition services employee hired on September 1, 1987, who takes a one year leave of absence shall have a new seniority date of September 1, 1988.)
Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay. (a) A non-probationary employee may be granted a Personal Leave of Absence Without Pay at the discretion of the Sheriff. Any such leaves which exceed thirty (30) days shall not be counted in determining advancement in the Salary Steps, as defined in Article 14, Xxxxxxx 0, Xxxxxxxxx (x), 0, xxxxx, including seniority. Vacations, holidays, sick leave and all other fringe benefits shall not accumulate during such leave of absence; however, the leave of absence shall not be considered interruption of continuous service for the purpose of eligibility for benefits after return to work, and the employee shall retain any benefits accrued up to the date of the leave of absence.
(b) Health Care and Life Insurance may be continued during a Leave of Absence Without Pay, provided that the employee pays the actual cost of such coverage; failure to prepay any month's premium to the Personnel Department by the fifteenth (15th) of the month prior to the month of coverage results in loss of benefits. Once lost, the benefits cannot resume, until the employee returns to work.
