Protective Wear. (a) The College shall provide adequate rainwear for employees in the grounds and maintenance departments.
(b) The College shall provide regular employees who work in tool-cribs, grounds, shipping/receiving, including bookstore receivers, xxxx’x training and maintenance, with adequate safety footwear up to a non-accumulative maximum of one hundred and twenty dollars ($120.00) annually, plus taxes.
Protective Wear. When it is necessary for an employee to wear protective devices (goggles, safety masks, gloves, etc.), the employer shall be responsible for their provision.

Protective Wear. 28.01 The Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario, as amended, requires that where a worker is exposed to injury to head, eyes and/or feet such worker shall wear protection appropriate in the circumstances.
28.02 Protective wear will be provided as required and without expense to employees, according to hazards identified in the position. Said protective wear shall remain the property of the Corporation and must be returned to the Corporation on termination, or when an employee requests a replacement item. The protective wear will include, but is not limited to, the following: - Hard Hats - to be supplied as required and replaced as specified by governmental standards – date for replacement shown inside brim of each hat; - Hard Hat Liners – to be supplied as required, once per year under the supervisor’s control; - Rubber Boots (Safety) – to be supplied as required. The old boots must be presented for inspection prior to replacement; - Eye Protection – Plano Safety Glasses will be supplied as required – C.S.A. Standard Z94.3-92. - Appropriate gloves and rainwear as required - High Visibility parkas/coats/jackets as required - Breathing apparatus as required - High visibility coveralls or overalls as required
28.03 The Corporation shall provide the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars ($180) per annum by direct deposit, payable prior to July 1 each year, to each employee normally required to wear safety footwear. These employees are required to purchase and wear appropriate footwear at all times while at work. New employees who receive their first shoe allowance less than six (6) months prior to the next July 1st issue date shall not receive another shoe allowance until the second July 1st in their term of employment and thereafter shall receive such allowance annually as indicated above.
28.04 All safety footwear - rubber boots, safety boots or safety shoes shall be equivalent to or exceed the Grade 1 green patch standard as outlined in the Canadian Standard Association's Standard on protective Footwear Z195-M92 unless such other standards are established and published by the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Protective Wear. The following lists the items of clothing provided by the Corporation to Construction Inspectors for wear while performing Corporation business and must not be worn during off duty hours.
Protective Wear. 26.1 The Corporation will provide a safety boot allowance of one hundred and fifteen ($115) dollars each calendar year. Effective September 1, 2008, the Corporation will provide a safety boot allowance of one hundred and thirty ($130) dollars. Effective April 1, 2009, the allowance will increase to one hundred and forty ($140) dollars, and effective April 1, 2010 it will increase to one hundred and fifty ($150) dollars. Employees may roll their annual allowance to their next year’s entitlement. The Corporate standard for safety footwear is a Canadian Standards Association “Green Patch” safety boot providing ankle support and sole protection unless otherwise approved by the Director of Facilities and Property Management.
26.2 The Corporation will provide winter parkas to full time employees where deemed appropriate by the Corporation according to the nature of the employee’s job responsibility. Replacement will be at the sole discretion of the Corporation.
26.3 Employees will receive an annual clothing allowance of $200.00 to be used purchasing items from Central Stores. To utilize this allowance, employees must submit their uniform requests to their Supervisor for approval. Employees may use this allowance to purchase a parka.
26.4 It is understood and agreed that employees, where directed, must wear a City uniform. Employees are responsible for maintaining their uniform in good condition.
26.5 It is also understood that all safety equipment provided must be worn/used and employees must abide by all safety instructions and regulations during working hours.
26.6 Any employee who has had their City clothing damaged in the course of carrying out their duties, may have such clothing issues replaced or repaired upon approval by their Supervisor.

Employees may only carry over the current year’s annual allowance to their next year’s entitlement. Any unused portion of the maximum reimbursement cannot be carried over to future years. Employees may also use this allowance to be reimbursed for their uniform alterations, provided an original receipt is submitted. Part-Time Employees will receive an annual clothing allowance of $200.00 to be used for purchasing items from the City’s Supplier, or elsewhere with advance approval from the Director, Facilities and Property Management. To utilize this allowance, employees must submit their uniform requests to their Supervisor for approval. Employees may use this allowance to purchase a parka. Employees may also use this allowance to be reimbursed for their uniform alterations, provided an original receipt is submitted.

Protective Wear. 39.2.1 All Teachers who work in one or more of the following classroom settings shall be provided with and wear protective footwear and eye and ear protection: Construction Shop Manufacturing Shop Transportation Shop
39.2.2 In addition to the above, when a Teacher assigned to Cooperative Education enters a worksite that requires protective footwear, he/she shall also be provided with and wear protective footwear and eye and ear protection.
39.2.3 Notwithstanding the above, if a TBU member is providing on-call coverage in one of the aforementioned technology areas, CSA approved protective footwear shall not be required.
39.2.4 The Board shall reimburse each Teacher who is required to wear safety footwear and/or prescription safety eye wear up to a maximum of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) total every year for C.S.A. approved protective footwear and/or prescription safety eye wear, upon receipt of proof of purchase.
