Federation Representation. In situations where the Federation has been requested in writing not to represent the grievant, the District shall not agree to a final resolution of the grievance until the Federation has received a copy of the grievance and the proposed resolution and has been given the opportunity to state its view on the matter.

Federation Representation. A representative from the appropriate exclusive bargaining agent will accompany the grievant upon request at any level of the grievance procedure. Any party in interest, including other employees, supervisors, administrators and the District may be represented at all stages of the grievance procedure by him/herself or, at his/her option, a representative selected or approved by the legally responsible District administrator or the elected representative for the bargaining unit, whichever is appropriate. The appropriate bargaining unit representative will be present at all steps of the procedure if requested.
Federation Representation. 6.1 Neither party, in negotiation, shall have any control over the selection of the negotiating or bargaining representatives of the other party. The bargaining committee of the Federation shall consist of not more than six (6) employee representatives, only one of whom shall be an employee regularly assigned to the night shift, and who may attend all bargaining sessions during working hours at no loss of pay. The Federation will furnish the City Manager or designee with a written list of the Federation's bargaining committee prior to the first bargaining meeting and substitution changes thereto if necessary. 6.2 The membership of the Federation shall be represented by its authorized Business Representatives. It shall be the responsibility of the Federation to notify the City Manager or designee in writing of any change in the designation of its authorized Business Representatives subsequent to the execution of this Agreement. 6.3 The Federation shall also notify the City Manager in writing of the names of all of the union stewards at the beginning of a new contract and anytime there is a change. There shall be no more than six (6) union stewards designated at one time.
Federation Representation. An employee shall be entitled to Federation representation at each step of the grievance procedure. However, the Federation shall not be required to represent, for purposes of grievance hearings, those employees who are not dues-paying members of the Federation. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this Article, any employee shall have the right to present grievances to the Administration and to have such grievances adjusted in accord with the procedures set forth in this Article, without the intervention of the Federation, as long as the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of this Memorandum of Understanding, and provided that the Federation is given an opportunity to be present at such adjustment.

Federation Representation. 8.07.01 The Local shall notify the Employer, in writing to the Human Resources Administrator, of the names of persons who are elected to office and/or appointed to perform specific roles within the Local. 8.07.02 The Employer shall provide bulletin board space for the use of the Local in the school staffroom or other appropriate location in each workplace, and upon which the Local shall have the right to post notices relating to matters of interest to the Union/Local and its Members. 8.07.03 The Local shall continue to have access to the Employer's courier system, fax, e-mail, phones and mailboxes for regular formal communication between the Local and its Members. Inasmuch as this paragraph 8.07.03 recognizes the Local as an internal user for the purposes of e-mail, courier, fax, etc., the Local, for its part, agrees to abide by any policies and procedures which are established by the Employer regarding the use of these. The procedures for the acceptable use of the Board’s e-mail services shall be posted on the Board’s e-mail system. 8.07.04 The Local shall, upon reasonable notice and subject to availability, be permitted to carry out Union/Local business on Board/School premises, at reasonable times and in reasonable locations. It is agreed that the Local will reimburse the Employer for any additional direct costs incurred in relation to general meetings of the Local membership held on Board premises. 8.07.05 Subject to the authority of the Principal or appropriate Superintendent related to school and Board premises, representatives of the Local shall have reasonable access to its Members for Federation business at all schools and workplaces, normally outside of instructional time.

The chapter chairperson will be released with pay to attend union related meetings convened by the School Committee and Mayor.

The Program Director shall recognize the Federation Program Representative as the official representative of the Federation in the Program. 3. The Federation shall supply the office of the Superintendent with an updated list of Federation Representatives and Program Representatives. 4. A representative(s) from the District shall meet no more than once a month after school hours with the school or program Federation Committee to discuss local school or program problems and policies as they relate to established School Committee policies and procedures and this agreement. Both parties may submit items for the agenda. 5. The discussion of other matters, as agreed upon for discussion by the Principal and/or Program Director and the school or Program Federation Committee, is not precluded by the above. However, the Principal and/or Program Director and the Federation Committee do not have the authority to reach any decision which changes this agreement or any established School Committee policy or procedure. 6. A committee of Federation Representatives, not to exceed five (5) members, shall meet at least twice per year with the Superintendent of Schools or designee for consultation on matters of educational programs during the school year. Both parties may submit items for the agenda. The Federation President and the Superintendent or designee shall establish a mutually convenient time and place for these monthly meetings.
