Residence Requirement. Residence requirements for holding office in any governmental unit shall not apply to any officer appointed to carry out any such agreement.
Residence Requirement.
9.1 The Employer will determine the boundaries of assigned patrol areas (APAs) and geographic areas; however, the Employer will continue to satisfy its collective bargaining obligations regarding changes to these boundaries.
9.2 Troopers issued a state vehicle shall:
A. When assigned as a line trooper, live within fifteen (15) miles from the boundary of their APA or assigned geographic area or forty-five (45) miles from their assigned duty station (detachment office) provided they meet all of the requirements of Section 9.5 below. However, employees in District 2, for whom residency was established outside of the fifteen (15) miles before July 1, 2007 and in accordance with previous residency requirements, may continue to live at their current residence. These employees will be required to comply with the new residency requirement for any future changes of residence.
B. When not assigned as a line trooper, live within forty-five (45) miles of their assigned duty station.
9.3 Sergeants issued a state vehicle shall reside within forty-five (45) miles of their assigned duty station. Line sergeants with an assigned APA shall reside within 15 miles of that APA or within forty-five (45) miles of their assigned duty station.
9.4 If compliance with the residency requirement is not practical (e.g., lack of available housing, freeway assignment, employee currently resides within a reasonable
9.5 Commute
A. The employee shall go on on-duty status while commuting;
B. The employee shall be in overtime status for the period of time preceding his/her normal scheduled shift;
C. The employee shall not be on call-out status; and
D. The employee’s normal shift will end at the regularly-scheduled time for that shift. In such event, the employee shall immediately request assistance from on-duty personnel, and the on-duty status of the employee shall cease as soon as assistance arrives that relieves the employee of the need to take appropriate action. Employees shall not abuse the “take appropriate action” provisions of this Section in an attempt to earn overtime, and employees who so abuse this Section shall be subject to discipline.
9.6 Overtime for court, callout, etc., for employees residing more than fifteen (15) miles from their areas of assignment shall commence and terminate when they reach the fifteen (15) mile boundary of their assigned area.
Residence Requirement.
A. Employees must reside within forty-five (45) miles of their assigned district, division or detachment office.
B. The Internet program Xxxxxx.xxx (shortest route) will be the official measurement of the distance from the division, district or detachment office, to the employee’s residence. If Xxxxxx.xxx does not recognize a street name or address, employees will be responsible for finding the nearest address that Xxxxxx.xxx does recognize and then driving the remaining distance with their supervisor to determine whether the residence is within the mileage limitations.
C. The mileage determination on Xxxxxx.xxx will not contain water (ferry) miles, airline, straight line or any other method of mileage measurement other than all season maintained streets recognized by Xxxxxx.xxx. In the case of a new street, the employee’s supervisor will decide whether the street meets the definition of an all season maintained street, road, highway, etc.
D. The Employee will be required to send an Interoffice Communication (IOC) through the chain of command that must be approved by the bureau chief/director before moving. The IOC will provide notice of the intent to move to a residence under the terms of this Article, accompanied by a copy of the Xxxxxx.xxx map showing that the new residence complies with the Agreement.
E. The Association will not support requests for a waiver of the mileage limitations outlined in this Article by its bargaining unit members, other than requests that meet the WSP Hardship Regulation.
F. Employees shall have one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from the report date of the transfer or appointment to comply with these guidelines.
Residence Requirement. Employees shall be at their place of residence, a medical facility, or their doctor’s office, or shall notify their supervisor of their whereabouts when using sick leave. Any gainful employment, pursuit of personal business, recreation, travel for recreation, or non-sick leave purpose, or other such activity when an employee is on sick leave is considered evidence of abuse of sick leave unless approved in advance in writing by the Sheriff or designee.

This residency requirement shall be deemed a condition of employment and a failure to meet or maintain this qualification shall be grounds for immediate termination. Such termination shall not be subject to the arbitration provisions set forth in this Agreement.
Residence Requirement. All members of the Police Department must reside within an area to be able to respond to emergency conditions within thirty (30) road miles of the Police Station. Any police officer that has not established a residence as stated above prior to the end of his probationary employment shall be rejected as a permanent member of his department and shall subsequently be dismissed.
Residence Requirement. Executive agrees that during his employment with the Company his residence and that of his family will remain in the greater Boston (Massachusetts) area.
Residence Requirement. Executive will relocate himself and his family to the DC Metropolitan Area as a condition of his employment with ManTech.
Residence Requirement. Section 17.1 All fulltime employees must be residents of the State of Ohio. All fulltime employees hired before November 14, 2009, must reside within a seven (7) mile radius of the City of Delphos. For clarification the point of beginning shall be the intersection of First Street and Main Street (St. Rt. 66). Any fulltime employee hired after the current Civil Service eligibility list expires on November 14, 2009 as a condition of employment, shall be required to live within the city limits. The enforcement of this section will be dependant upon the adjudication outcome of the current Ohio Residency Law (ORC 9.481). If the Ohio Residency Law is upheld, State Law shall be prevail for all bargaining unit members.
Section 17.2 If at the time of being hired, the fulltime employee does not live within the boundaries set forth in 17.1 the employee shall move within the boundaries set forth in 17.1 within ninety (90) days after the completion of the probationary period or because of extenuating circumstances, with the written permission from the Safety Service Director, become a resident within one hundred- eighty (180) days of being employed. Failure to comply after the specified amount of time will be reason for dismissal. Any further extension of time period of non- residency must be approved by City Council.
