Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements. The Contractor shall at all times adhere to the Site safety requirements and all national legislation including the OHSAct. • The Employer’s lifesaving rules shall be incorporated into the design for the Decontamination holding facility, Mock up and Hot laundry. • The Contractor shall conduct safety risk assessment for all the proposed activities on Site and document all mitigation measures that will be implemented. • The CAF and Hot workshopshall have photo luminescent exit and safety signage, provided and installed by the Contractor, in accordance with SANS 1186 Part 1 [9] and Part 5 [10]. • Emergency exit routes and demarcations, supplied and installed by the Contractor, shall be in accordance with SANS 10400-T: the application of the National Building Regulations Part T: Fire Protection [11]. Demarcation of exit routes shall be done by the Contractor by means of floor markings using durable photo luminescent paint. • All Contractor’s constructed facilities shall have fire protection provided in accordance with SANS 10400- T: the application of the National Building Regulations Part T: Fire Protection [11]. • The Contractor is to appoint all relevant safety personnel as required in the Construction Regulations. • The information above shall be in a form of a safety file which shall be submitted to the Supervisor for acceptance prior to commencement of the works. • All Contractor and Sub-contractor personnel working on Site are expected to have the correct Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE). • All rubble produced on Site, by the Contractor or its Sub-contractors, shall be disposed during and following Completion of the works. • The Contractor shall ensure provision is made for the collection of waste generated from the Site, by use of a skip that shall be monitored and emptied, by the Contractor as required. • All chemicals used on Site shall be accompanied with the necessary Material Safety Data Sheets. The Safety Data Sheet need to be in a 16 point format and must be submitted to the Client before Chemicals are brought on site.
Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements. In addition to the requirements of the law governing health and safety, Eskom may have some additional requirements particular to the service and the Affected Property for this Contract. The Contractor will comply with the following;  Komati Powers Station Health & Safety Standards as per SHE specification, document will be part of tender returnable.  Acknowledgement of Annexure B form.  Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, and its regulations.  Constitution of Republic of South Africa.  Labour relations Act.  National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998  Eskom Komati Power Station Policies and ProceduresCompensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act of 0000 (XXXX)  All staff will undergo a one day Safety Induction training course one week before site occupation  Adhere to Eskom and Komati Power Station zero tolerance for non-compliance  to any of Eskom / Komati Power Station’s safety rules and regulations  Lifesaving Rules; - Open, Isolate, Test, Earth, Bond and or Insulate Before Touch - Hook up at Heights - Buckle Up - Be Sober - Ensure you have a Permit to Work The Contractor must appoint Safety Representatives to assist but no limited to the following;  Identify possible hazards, dangers and risks  Fall protection plan  Eliminate potentially dangerous conditions and actions  Ensure a safe working environment Inspect and record findings of his workplace and submit a copy to the Project Manager The Project Manager/Komati safety shall be entitled to request the Contractor to stop work without penalty to the Employer, when the contractor’s personnel fail to conform to acceptable health and safety standards or contravene the health and safety sections and regulations. The Project Manager must be informed as soon as possible but not later than the end of the shift about any injury of personnel or damage of property or any equipment by means of the flash report. The Contractor must perform job observations on critical tasks as identified and provide proof to the project manager.
Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements. Provide a response detailing the technical understanding of Federal, State, Local and Xxxxx-specific Occupational Health and Safety Requirements outlined in SOW. The response shall demonstrate an understanding of typical site-specific hazards encountered in performing the requirements of the SOW. Provide a response detailing the technical understanding and approach including specific examples of complying with Federal, State and Local environmental laws in the performance of this contract as outlined in the SOW. At a minimum, identify the most likely environmental compliance issues and possible mitigation strategies including coordination with Environmental Management Office.
Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements. The offer will be evaluated based on the demonstration of overall technical understanding of Federal, State, Local and Xxxxx-specific occupational health and safety requirements outlined in SOW along with your demonstration of understanding of typical site-specific hazards encountered in performing the requirements of the SOW. As a minimum, the Contractor’s safety and health Project must address the following: - New employees orientation Project - Work site employee orientation Project - Enforcement of safety rules policy - Employee training - Substance abuse policy - Work site safety inspection/control policy - Housekeeping/clutter control policy - Emergency response policy covering fire, medical, and chemical spills - Personal Protective Equipment policy - Accident investigation, analysis, and control policy - Hazard communication The Contractor’s safety and health must also address the following if performed on the City’s premises: - Confined space entry - Crane safety - Electrical safety - Fall protection - Hearing conservation - Lockout/Tagout - Medical surveillance and exposure monitoring - Mobile equipment, including rollover protection - Process safety management of highly hazardous chemicals - Respiratory protection - Trenching/excavating - Guarding floor and wall openings - Radiation safety - Compressed gas safety - Flammable/combustible liquids safety and storage - Sanitation - Welding/burning - Bloodborne pathogens - Concrete/masonry construction - Steel erection - Demolition - Environmental control and permitting When required, the Contractor must meet the training requirements of the City and provide suitable evidence that employees are being trained when requested by the City. The Contractor’s work product must meet all OSHA requirements as interpreted by the City. The City reserves the right to inspect all work performed by the Contractor as the work progresses and prior to acceptance. Any deficiencies shall be promptly corrected. The City reserves the right to qualify or disqualify any contractor from bidding or acceptance based on safety performance and reserves the right to obtain information to be used in the qualification, including but not limited to, OSHA lost workday rates, experience modification rates, and OSHA recordable injury rates. Any contractor employee deemed unacceptable to the City shall be removed from the premises and shall be replaced by a competent qualified employee acceptable to the City at the Contractor’s expense. Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements. All people working on Xxxxx Power Station shall at all times ensure compliance with safety regulations imposed by any Act of Parliament, ordinance or any regulation or bylaw of any local or statutory authority. It is a requirement to comply with a minimum of:  The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 and all regulations made there under.  South African Building Codes and construction regulations 25207 of 2003.  All applicable Eskom Safety and Operating Procedures including those not listed in this document.  Eskom Lifesaving Rules.  Any other requirements authorised in writing by recognised legal authorities. Acknowledgement of awareness of the requirements of all the above and undertaking to employ only people who have been duly authorised in terms thereof and personnel who have received sufficient training to ensure that they can comply therewith is required for anyone entering the Xxxxx Power Station site.

  • D4 Environmental Requirements D4.1 The Contractor shall, when working on the Premises, perform its obligations under the Contract in accordance with the Authority’s environmental principles, which are to conserve energy, water, wood, paper and other resources, reduce waste and phase out the use of ozone depleting substances, minimise the release of greenhouse gases, volatile organic compounds and other substances damaging to health and the environment.

  • D5 Environmental Requirements D5.1 The Contractor shall in the performance of the Contract have due regard to the Authority’s Environmental, Sustainable Procurement and Ethical Procurement policy statements and in addition, shall assist the Authority in achieving the Sustainable Development in Government targets (“SDIG”). These statements and targets require the Authority through its procurement and management of suppliers to inter alia:

  • COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS The Contractor, it’s Subcontractors, and their respective employees, shall comply fully with all applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental laws, ordinances, rules and regulations in the performance of the services, including but not limited to those promulgated by the City and by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In case of conflict, the most stringent safety requirement shall govern. The Contractor shall indemnify and hold the City harmless from and against all claims, demands, suits, actions, judgments, fines, penalties and liability of every kind arising from the breach of the Contractor’s obligations under this paragraph.

  • Environmental Requirements C7.1 The Contractor shall, when working on the Premises, perform its obligations under the Contract in accordance with the Authority’s environmental policy, which is to conserve energy, water, wood, paper and other resources, reduce waste and phase out the use of ozone depleting substances and minimise the release of greenhouse gases, volatile organic compounds and other substances damaging to health and the environment.

  • Environmental Health and Safety i. Environment, Health and Safety Performance. Seller acknowledges and accepts full and sole responsibility to maintain an environment, health and safety management system ("EMS") appropriate for its business throughout the performance of this Contract. Buyer expects that Seller’s EMS shall promote health and safety, environmental stewardship, and pollution prevention by appropriate source reduction strategies. Seller shall convey the requirement of this clause to its suppliers. Seller shall not deliver goods that contain asbestos mineral fibers.

  • Environmental Safety Upon encountering any previously unknown potentially hazardous material, or other materials potentially contaminated by hazardous material, Contractor shall immediately stop work activities impacted by the discovery, secure the affected area, and notify the ODR immediately.

  • Compliance with Environmental Laws Except as otherwise described in the Prospectus, and except as would not, individually or in the aggregate, result in a Material Adverse Change (i) neither the Company nor any of its subsidiaries is in violation of any federal, state, local or foreign law or regulation relating to pollution or protection of human health or the environment (including, without limitation, ambient air, surface water, groundwater, land surface or subsurface strata) or wildlife, including without limitation, laws and regulations relating to emissions, discharges, releases or threatened releases of chemicals, pollutants, contaminants, wastes, toxic substances, hazardous substances, petroleum and petroleum products (collectively, “Materials of Environmental Concern”), or otherwise relating to the manufacture, processing, distribution, use, treatment, storage, disposal, transport or handling of Materials of Environmental Concern (collectively, “Environmental Laws”), which violation includes, but is not limited to, noncompliance with any permits or other governmental authorizations required for the operation of the business of the Company or its subsidiaries under applicable Environmental Laws, or noncompliance with the terms and conditions thereof, nor has the Company or any of its subsidiaries received any written communication, whether from a governmental authority, citizens group, employee or otherwise, that alleges that the Company or any of its subsidiaries is in violation of any Environmental Law; (ii) there is no claim, action or cause of action filed with a court or governmental authority, no investigation with respect to which the Company has received written notice, and no written notice by any person or entity alleging potential liability for investigatory costs, cleanup costs, governmental responses costs, natural resources damages, property damages, personal injuries, attorneys’ fees or penalties arising out of, based on or resulting from the presence, or release into the environment, of any Material of Environmental Concern at any location owned, leased or operated by the Company or any of its subsidiaries, now or in the past (collectively, “Environmental Claims”), pending or, to the Company’s knowledge, threatened against the Company or any of its subsidiaries or any person or entity whose liability for any Environmental Claim the Company or any of its subsidiaries has retained or assumed either contractually or by operation of law; and (iii) to the best of the Company’s knowledge, there are no past or present actions, activities, circumstances, conditions, events or incidents, including, without limitation, the release, emission, discharge, presence or disposal of any Material of Environmental Concern, that reasonably could result in a violation of any Environmental Law or form the basis of a potential Environmental Claim against the Company or any of its subsidiaries or against any person or entity whose liability for any Environmental Claim the Company or any of its subsidiaries has retained or assumed either contractually or by operation of law.

  • Health and Safety Requirements The Contractor and his subcontractors ensure at all times compliance with safety regulations imposed by any Act of Parliament, ordinance or any regulation or by¬law of any local or statutory authority. Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act of 1993-Section 37) The Contractor shall comply with:  The Occupational Health and Safety Xxx, 0000, and all Regulations made there under;  All Eskom Safety and Operating Procedures listed in this Works Information. The Contractor acknowledges that it is fully aware of the requirements of all the above and undertakes to employ only people who have been duly authorised in terms thereof and who have received sufficient training to ensure that they can comply therewith. The Contractor undertakes not to do, or not to allow anything to be done which will contravene any of the provisions of the Act, Regulations or Safety and Operating Procedures. The Contractor shall appoint a person who will liaise with the Eskom Safety Officer responsible for the premises relevant to this contract. The person so appointed shall, on request:  Supply the Eskom Safety Officer with copies of minutes of all Health and Safety Committee meetings, whenever he is required to do so;  Supply the Eskom Safety Officer with copies of all appointments in respect of employees employed on this contract, in terms of the Act and Regulations and shall advise the Eskom Safety Officer of any changes thereto. Eskom may, at any stage during the currency of this agreement, be entitled to:  Do safety audits at the Contractor’s premises, its work-places and on its employees;  Refuse any employee, sub-contractor or agent of the Contractor access to its premises if such person has been found to commit any unlawful act or any unsafe working practice or is found to be not authorised or qualified in terms of the Act;

  • Environmental Regulations The Contractor shall conduct activities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and other requirements of the Contract relating to the environment and its protection at all times. Unless otherwise specifically determined, the Owner is responsible for obtaining and maintaining permits related to stormwater run-off. The Contractor shall conduct operations consistent with stormwater run-off permit conditions. Contractor is responsible for all items it brings to the Site, including hazardous materials, and all such items brought to the Site by its Subcontractors and suppliers, or by other entities subject to direction of the Contractor. The Contractor shall not incorporate hazardous materials into the Work without prior approval of Owner, and shall provide an affidavit attesting to such in association with the request for the Substantial Completion Inspection.
