Section Bereavement Leave. In the event of a death in an family, (that is death of father, mother, sister, brother, husband, wife, children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents, step-parents, and step-children), all related employees shall be entitled to be absent work for a period of up to three (3) consecutive working days, without loss of pay. All related employees shall be entitled to be absent from work for one (1) day to attend the funeral of a sister-in-law, brother-in- law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, and grandparents-in-law, without loss of pay for the (1) day. If the employee requires additional unpaid time off up to twenty (20) days, the Employer will grant the request Section Duty. If an employee is required to serve as in any court of or is subpoenaed to attend a court of law as a crown witness, the employee shall be protected against loss of regular straight time pay for scheduled hours to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day, for twenty (20) consecutive working days in a calendar year, provided that the employee:

Section Bereavement Leave. An employee shall be granted a maximum of three regularly scheduled work days leave, without loss of pay or benefits, in the case of death of a parent, spouse, brother, sister, child, parent-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, step-children, legal guardian and grandparents which include spouses grandparents and grand-children. A death certificate may be required. Funeral leave is not compensable when the employee is on leave of absence, bona fide lay-off or annual vacation. Upon giving twenty-four (24) hours notice, an employee shall be granted time off without pay for the purpose of attending a funeral provided that the granting of such time off shall not be inconsistent with the efficient operation of the business. A working day lost shall be not more than eight (8) hours for hourly employees or not more than ten (10) hours for line drivers. This clause will have no application for an employee on leave of absence or when receiving benefits under the health and welfare plan, annual vacations, workers' compensation or as otherwise covered by this Agreement. A company employee summoned to Jury Duty or subpoenaed as a witness on a day that he would normally have worked shall be paid wages amounting to the difference between the amount paid for such service and the amount they would have earned had they worked on such days. Employees on jury shall furnish the employer with such statements of earnings as the courts may supply. A working day lost shall not be more than the employees regular assigned shift. This clause will have no application for an employee on leave of absence or when receiving benefits under the health and welfare plan, annual vacations, workers' compensation or as otherwise covered by this Agreement.
Section Bereavement Leave. Effective February an employee shall be granted paid bereavement leave as follows: Upon the death of a spouse, common-law spouse, child, father, mother, sister, brother, a of four (4) working days up to and including the day after the funeral. Upon the death of a mother-in-law, father-in-law, law, sister-in-law a maximum of three (3) working days up to and including the day of the funeral. Upon the death of a grandparent (of either the employee or the employee’s spouse or common-law spouse) grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, a maximum of two (2) working days up to and including the day of the funeral.
Section Bereavement Leave. In the event of a death in the immediate family, an employee will be granted a leave of absence for purposes of attending the funeral. The length of such absence with pay shall be at the discretion of the Employer for scheduled days of work missed by the employee. The term family" shall mean Spouse, Parent, Child, Brother, Sister, Mother-in-Law, Father-in-Law, Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts. If any employee is called and is required to serve on Jury Duty or as a crown witness on his normal day, the Employer agrees to pay the equivalent of the regular rate at straight time, less the amount of Jury Duty or Crown Witness pay received. Employees shall return to work within a reasonable period of time. They shall not be required to report if less than two (2) hours of their normal shift remains to be worked. Total hours spent on Jury Duty or material witness and actual work on the job in the warehouse in one day shall not exceed a regular day's pay for purpose of establishing the basic work day. Employees on Jury Duty shall contact the Employer immediately following Jury Duty to indicate the availability for work; however, notwithstanding the foregoing, an individual on Jury Duty shall have eight (8) hours rest before returning to work. Leave of absence without pay may be granted at the discretion of the Company.
Section Bereavement Leave. In the case of death in the immediate family, the employee shall be granted leave of absence with full pay, for the purpose of attending or arranging the funeral, up to a maximum of three (3) consecutive working days. Employees who are required to travel beyond (300 miles) one way in order to attend the funeral of the deceased will be granted additional days of bereavement with pay. Abuse of this Section will render the employee liable to non- payment of this allowance. It is understood that qualification for non-payment is governed by this Article but in no way limits the Company to further disciplinary action where warranted. Immediate family shall include husband, wife, mother, father, sister, brother, children, mother or father-in-law, grandparents, sister or brother-in-law. Step- parents shall be deemed as parents. All time lost by an employee due to necessary attendance on Jury Duty or any Court proceedings arising out of his employment, or in completing driver's tests or doctors' examinations in connection therewith, or being subpoenaed as witness at a trial shall be paid for at the rate of pay applicable to said employee. Any employee on Jury Duty shall, subject to this provision, make himself available for work before or after being required for such duty wherever practicable. All Jury Duty pay or witness fees received by the employee from the Courts shall be reimbursed to the Company.
Section Bereavement Leave. When death occurs to a member of a regular full-time employee’s immediate family, the employee will be granted an appropriate leave of absence and shall be compensated at his regular straight time hourly rate for hours lost from his regular schedule for a maximum of three (3) days (24 hours) or in the case of a spouse or child, five (5) days (40 hours). If the day or days of leave noted above fall on his regularly schedule work days, then the employee will be paid eight (8) hours’ pay at his regular straight time rate for the leave. Hours paid under the terms of this section will be counted as hours worked for the purpose of qualifying for vacations and for recognized paid holidays, but will not be counted as hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime. Members of the employee’s immediate family are defined as the employee’s spouse, law spouse (legal), mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mother-in-law, father- in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, step parents, step children, grandparents and grandchildren. If the death of an immediate family member occurs while an employee is on vacation, will receive compensating time off at the end of vacation. In the event of the death employee, thecompany will give due consideration to a union request for representation with pay at the employee’s funeral.
