SICK LEAVE AND DOMESTIC LEAVE. (a) You shall be entitled to sick pay of 7 days for the following 12 month period and for each subsequent year of service thereafter. Sick pay shall be accumulative to up to 21 days. (b) The company may, at its discretion, require you to provide a medical certificate for any sick leave or domestic leave absence. You shall be required to provide a medical certificate where you are absent for more than 2 days for sick leave or domestic leave absence. (c) You shall ensure notice is given to us that you are sick or taking domestic leave, not later than one hour prior to your normal commencing time and you shall notify us as soon as possible when a return to work is likely. (d) The Company shall also have the right to require you to produce additionally, a medical certificate at our expense, from a doctor nominated by ourselves.

SICK LEAVE AND DOMESTIC LEAVE. Full time employees shall be entitled to 10 working days paid at ordinary time for the first, and for each subsequent year of current continuous service, paid at ordinary time, provided that: a) The employee shall produce a medical certificate for any periods of absence in accordance with the Holidays Act if required by the employer and further certificates in the case of extended illness, such certificate to specify sufficient details of the nature of the illness and for this purpose the employee consents to the disclosure by the Doctor of the nature of the illness. b) The employee shall advise the employer prior to the commencement of work period of inability to work because of sickness. c) Sick pay shall accumulate up to 80 days for full time employees by carrying forward from one year to another any unused sick days. d) Sick leave shall not apply to casual employees. e) A part-time employee shall be entitled to a pro-rata of full-time employee entitlements, provided that a part time employee shall not receive less than their minimum entitlement each year, in accordance with the Xxxxxxxx Xxx 0000 and Holidays Amendment Xxx 0000. f) Sick leave shall be paid at the amount the employee would ordinarily have earned on the day taken. g) Additional paid sick leave will be considered on a case-by case basis and is at the discretion of the General Manager. h) The Employer is committed to providing a safe, supportive, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where support and assistance to victims of family violence, or those affected by family violence in the past, is not only provided but encouraged. Family violence may impact on an employee’s attendance or performance at work. Family violence means domestic violence as defined by s2 of the Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Xxx 0000. The Family Violence Victims Protection Act Policy gives guidance to the employee to the steps required to apply for the leave. This policy will be provided to all new staff. At the discretion of the employer, an employee who supports a person experiencing family violence may take domestic leave to accompany them to court, to hospital, or to mind children. All personal information concerning family violence will be kept confidential and will not be kept on the employee’s personnel file without their agreement. Proof of family violence may be requested and can be in the agreed form of a document from the Police, a health professional, or a family violence support service.
SICK LEAVE AND DOMESTIC LEAVE. 18.1 Sick Leave can be used when an employee is sick or injured, or when the employee’s spouse or a dependant person is sick or injured and needs care and shall be paid for at the rate of the employee’s relevant daily pay. 18.2 Employees shall be entitled to 5 days sick leave for the first 6 months of employment and a further 7 days up 12 months and then 12 days per year thereafter. 18.3 Sick Leave shall accumulate to a maximum of 60 days. 18.4 The employee shall ensure that notice is given to the employer as soon as practicable on the first day of absence due to illness. 18.5 The employer may require a medical certificate for absences in excess of three working days. 18.6 Sick Leave shall not be paid in respect of any statutory or annual holiday for which the employee is entitled to full pay. 18.7 An employee’s Sick Leave year will be from the date of their commencement of employment. 18.8 Where an employee has unused Sick Leave entitlement, leave on pay shall be granted to an employee who finds it essential to stay at home in the event of the illness of a spouse, dependent child or a dependent parent or other dependent family member. Such leave shall be treated as though it were due to the employee's own sickness. 18.9 If an employee becomes sick and / or infected as a direct result of support client contact the employer agrees to paid sick leave in addition to that provided for in clause 18.2. Any additional entitlement shall be negotiated and agreed on a case-by-case basis. 18.10 Additional sick leave of up to 5 days per annum may be available in exceptional circumstances. This additional sick leave must be approved by a General Manager.

  • Domestic Leave 2.8.1 Employees may be granted reasonable leave on pay as a charge against sick leave entitlement when the employee must be absent from work to attend to a member of the household who, through illness, becomes dependent on the employee. 2.8.2 A medical certificate may be required in support of a claim for domestic leave.

  • Civic Leave Civic leave is provided to faculty members who are a) subpoenaed to appear before any court or other legally constituted body authorized to compel the attendance of witnesses, where the employee is not a party to the action; or b) summoned for jury duty by any court of competent jurisdiction. Faculty members required to report or serve for only part of a day for court or jury duty are obligated to return for the remainder of that day unless otherwise authorized by the Chair. Faculty members are required to provide written notification of civic leave to the Chair as far in advance of the leave as possible. Documentation regarding the leave (e.g., a copy of the summons, subpoena) shall be attached to the notification. The faculty member may retain any money received as compensation or expense reimbursement for jury duty or court attendance compelled by the summons or subpoena.

  • Personal Leave Without Pay Leave of absence without pay may be granted by the College for legitimate personal reasons.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent teacher, long-term occasional teacher or teacher hired into a term position under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, as amended. b) The teacher will provide to the employer such evidence as necessary to prove entitlement under the Employment Standards Act. c) A teacher contemplating taking such leave(s) shall notify the employer of the intended date the leave is to begin and the anticipated date of return to active employment. d) Seniority and experience continue to accrue during such leave(s). e) Where a teacher is on such leave(s), the Employer shall continue to pay its share of the benefit premiums, where applicable. To maintain participation and coverage under the Collective Agreement, the teacher must agree to provide for payment for the teacher’s share of the benefit premiums, where applicable. f) In order to receive pay for such leaves, a teacher must access Employment Insurance and the Supplemental Employment Benefit (SEB) in accordance with g) to j), if allowable by legislation. An employee who is eligible for E.I. is not entitled to benefits under a school board’s sick leave and short term disability plan. g) The Employer shall provide for permanent teachers, long-term occasional teachers and teachers hired into a term position who access such Leaves, a SEB plan to top up their E.I.

  • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / xxxxx's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative. 7.3.2 All accrued personal leave shall be available for use as carer's leave in accordance with the provisions outlined below. 7.3.3 As part of its commitment to provide a family-friendly workplace, the employer will allow employees to use any amount of accrued personal /xxxxx's leave to enable employees to: (a) provide primary care to partners, children and/or other household or family members. (b) attend the funerals of family or household members or close family relatives (if compassionate leave is not available in the circumstances). 7.3.4 The leave provided for in this clause will be granted subject to the following: (a) The employee must notify the employer of the reason and likely duration of the absence before 7.00 am on the first day of the absence, unless this is not possible due to an unexpected emergency in which case the employee must notify the employer as soon as practicable. (b) Where circumstances permit, an employee must endeavour to arrange leave to minimise the impact on operational needs. (c) The provision of appropriate documentary evidence. 1. For sick leave, a medical certificate or if not reasonably practicable to provide a medical certificate- a statutory declaration made by the employee. 2. For xxxxx's leave, a medical certificate in respect to the family or household member, or a statutory declaration by the employee. 3. For compassionate leave, any evidence that the employer reasonably requires. 7.3.5 The employee is not entitled to take more than 10 days of paid xxxxx’s leave (1/26th of the nominal hours worked by the employee) per year, regardless of the amount of personal leave the employee has accumulated over time. 7.3.6 An employee may request to cash out any amount of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave that they have accrued that is excess of 3/52 of the number of nominal hours worked over the past 12 months. For example, an employee working 38 hours per week over 12 months must retain 15 days of paid personal/carer’s leave and may cash out any further personal/carer’s leave that has been accumulated. 7.3.7 In addition to the above, a request to cash out personal/xxxxx’s leave will only be granted where: (a) the employee elects to cash out their leave in writing; and (b) the employer agrees. 7.3.8 Casual Employees engaged in continuous service shall be entitled to personal leave limited to the provision of sub clause 7.3.

  • Personal Leave of Absence The Administrator may grant a request for leave of absence for personal reasons without pay provided that he receives at least one (1) month's clear notice, in writing, unless impossible, and provided that such leave may be arranged without undue inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Employees when applying for such leave shall indicate the proposed date of departure and return. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Family Medical Leave Act 1. If an employee takes a leave granted under this Article for a reason covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act, the leave shall be administered under the provisions of the FMLA. 2. Upon approval of the Superintendent and Association President, this Section may be modified as necessary to comply with federal law and rules and regulations. 3. The Board shall provide a copy of the policy on FMLA in the library of each building.

  • Vacations; Leave The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacation in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors for executive employees and to voluntary leave of absence, with or without pay, from time to time at such times and upon such conditions as the Board of Directors may determine in its discretion.
