TEACHER COMPENSATION AND FRINGE BENEFITS. 8.1 Each employee shall be paid on the basis of 24 equal payments – twice a month. The pay dates are the 5th and 20th of each month. If a regular pay date falls on a day that is a holiday or a weekend the employees shall receive their payment on the last regular business day prior to the pay day. 8.2 The Board agrees to pay one hundred percent (100%) of the major medical and hospitalization policy for each teacher’s individual insurance. This policy will also cover dental and vision insurance. The policy is to be determined by the Board of Education. Insurance coverage for employees will commence on the first day of active employment and will continue until thirty (30) days after the last paycheck or July 30th, whichever is later. The Board will also provide each employee a term life insurance policy in the amount of $25,000.

TEACHER COMPENSATION AND FRINGE BENEFITS. 4.1 Salaries shall be determined from the salary schedule or as an increase over the previous year’s salary. A. Teachers in their first year of employment at River Ridge will be paid according to the salary schedule. B. Teachers beyond their first year of employment at River Ridge shall receive a salary equal to the amount listed on the salary schedule, one step down per year of service 1. Full time teachers may move a maximum of (1) column over per year in addition to their year advancement (Down 1 and over 1) 2. Likewise, part-time teachers will be limited to increases proportional to their employment. 3. The salary for a teacher using the Retirement Incentive of section 4.3 of this agreement will be determined in accordance with that section C. If the level of employment of a teacher changes, such as a part time position being expanded to full time, the salary will be determined based on the salary the teacher would have been paid for the new position during the previous year. 4.2 The salary, fringe benefits, and extra duty schedules shall be set forth as Appendices, which are attached to and incorporated in this agreement. A. Appendix A1 shall be the salary schedule for 2010 - 2011. Credits counted for salary schedule advancement beyond the Masters Degree column must meet these criteria: 1. All masters/graduate degree programs must be approved by the superintendent after presenting the “Degrees Program of Study.” 2. Only valid graduate level courses which improve the instructional abilities of the teacher will be accepted for future salary schedule advancement beyond the Masters degree column. The Superintendent shall be responsible for approving credits for advancement on the salary schedule. Teachers are encouraged to seek prior approval of courses for salary schedule advancement. A decision of the Superintendent regarding the validity of any course for salary schedule advancement may be grieved. 3. Proper forms need to be filled out and signed by superintendent prior to registering for the course(s). Transcripts must be turned in to District office by first teacher attendance day of the school year that the courses are included on the salary schedule. B. Appendix B1 shall be the extra duty schedules for 2010 – 2011. C. National Board Certification – 3 graduate credits. Upon certification – 6 credits. 4.3 Workshop/Conferences A. TEACHER COMPENSATION AND FRINGE BENEFITS. SECTION A - Experience Credit. Up to (20) twenty years credit will be given to a newly hired teacher on the salary schedule for Illinois teaching experience and no more than (10) ten years of credit shall be given for out of state teaching experience.

TEACHER COMPENSATION AND FRINGE BENEFITS. The health insurance plan shall be selected by the LEA. The LEA will be advised by an Insurance Advisory Committee comprised of two (2) LEA representatives, two (2) Board members, and the District Superintendent. The committee shall convene each year prior to the beginning of bargaining or prior to the insurance plan renewal date which ever is earlier for the purpose of researching health insurance alternatives and reporting with a recommendation to the LEA bargaining team. Retired staff who wish to retain coverage may do so by making arrangements with the Superintendent for payment of premiums. The Lexington Board of Education will make available a Flexible Benefit Program to all employees of Lexington Unit District #7. The program will include all of the options (unreimbursed medical expenses, including optical and dental, health insurance premiums and dependent care) as provided by law. The dollar amount which may be tax sheltered will be determined by the employee subject to the amounts set by the employer in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Annual reinstatement of the flexible benefit program shall be upon mutual agreement by the Board and LEA. The LEA will notify the Board of Education by June 1 prior to each fiscal year of any changes in the health insurance plan.

Once advance approval for the course is given and the course is taken the following conditions must be met prior to the teacher receiving the appropriate salary schedule placement in Schedule A: 1. All hours must be earned at an accredited university. 2. A copy of a grade card or a transcript from that university demonstrating successful completion must be on file in the District's Administrative office. D. The superintendent may approve a graduate program of study leading to a graduate degree in which case all classes taken pursuant to the program are automatically approved and need not be approved on an individual basis. E. Teachers will receive the salary schedule placement per Appendix A at the beginning of the academic year. F. The disbursement of tuition credit waivers will be in the following manner: 1. Waivers will be given to staff members identified by ISU as having earned said waivers. 2. Should the staff member elect not to use the tuition waivers, they are to be given to the

Any teacher employed prior to the 2018-2019 school year will be moved to the appropriate step on the salary scheduled at the start of the 2018-2019 school year based on prior teaching experience in a full-time K-12 school which required a teaching license, but will not be entitled to retroactive back pay. Retired Illinois teachers shall receive $40.00 per class period for work performed and allowed four (4) sick days per year with no eligibility for benefits. B. Education Credit – Movement horizontally along the salary schedule shall be determined by accumulated semester course credit beyond the Bachelor’s degree, beyond the Master’s degree, etc. as indicated by the column headings on the salary schedule (Appendix A). The teacher will provide transcripts or supporting information to the superintendent as proof of said course credit. Movement as a result of earned course credit shall occur two (2) times yearly. The first time shall be on or before September 20 and the second time on or before January 20. C. Full-time teachers shall move one (1) step vertically each year. Part-time teachers shall move one (1) step vertically every two (2) years. However, no full-time or part-time teacher shall move a step vertically on the salary schedule in any contract year unless the parties specifically negotiated a step movement as part of the salary increase in that contract year.
