TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. 5.1 The Chief Xxxxxxx, or other authorized Union representative, shall be allowed time off, with pay, for meeting with City officials concerning Union business, provided, in the judgment of the City, said time off does not interfere with work flow requirements. The Chief Xxxxxxx, or other authorized representative, shall not leave his/her regularly assigned work in order to investigate a grievance without first obtaining approval of their supervisor. Such approval shall not be arbitrarily denied.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. 28.1 The President of the Union shall be allowed time off for official Union business with the City, with pay, and without the requirement to make up said time. Other Officers of the Union shall be allowed time off for official Union business with the City, with pay, and without the requirement to make up said time if there is sufficient manpower available to cover for said employee as determined by the Chief of the Fire Department.

TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. Police Officers of the Portsmouth Police Department covered by this Agreement who are officers of the Union (not to exceed 4) shall be allowed reasonable time off for official Union business with the Town for the purpose of attending collective bargaining sessions without loss of pay and without the requirement to make up such time. A police officer of the Portsmouth Police Department who is an officer of the Union (not to exceed 1, who shall be designated on 1 July of each year) shall be allowed reasonable time off to attend regional meetings of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers and the national convention of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers without loss of pay and without the requirement to make up such time.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. Members of the Fire Department covered by this Agreement who are officers of Local 1774 (not to exceed 5) may be allowed reasonable time off for official union business with the Town of Barrington for the purpose of attendance at collective bargaining sessions and/or other official union business with the Town, without loss of pay and without the requirement to make up such time. Members of the Fire Department who are officers of Local 1774 (not to exceed 2) may be allowed reasonable time off to attend meetings of the State Fire Fighters Association and State and National conventions of the Fire Fighters Association and for the purpose of attending seminars (not to exceed 2 per year) relating to fire fighting services and activities, without loss of pay and without the requirement to make up such time. Those employees who are on duty and in attendance at any meeting with Town officials pertaining to union business, except when the same relates to collective bargaining sessions, shall be subject to response to duty in the event a need arises for their performance of their normal fire fighting services.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. The City agrees to replace without loss of pay or the requirement to make up such time the President of Local 850 and one Executive Board member or delegate or Pension Board member to attend the following Union functions as follows: Formal contract negotiations with City - President/one board member Arbitration hearings - President/one board member State meetings (monthly) - President/one delegate State convention (annual) (one duty day) - President/one delegate New England Conference (biannual) (one duty day) - President/one delegate International Convention (biannual) (one week) - President/one delegate Meetings called by the City Manager – President only Pension Board Meetings – One Pension Board member only The time off above will be granted. The replacements will be made if necessary to maintain minimum manpower as outlined in Article IV, Section 4.06. Replacements shall not be required for any other meetings. Officers and Executive Board members not covered above will be allowed if on duty to attend meetings with the City by transferring on in-service apparatus. Utilization of in-service apparatus shall be at the discretion of the Chief or duty Battalion Chief.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. All employees covered by this Agreement who are officers of Local 305 shall be allowed time off for official Union business with the Town, with pay and without requirement to make up said time, if there is sufficient manpower available to cover for said employees as determined by the Chief of Police. The Town will not pay for any union business conducted outside the officer‟s scheduled shift.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. Two (2) employees covered by this Agreement , one of which is an officer of Local Rl-68 , shall be allowed time off for bargaining with the Town. The time off shall be with pay and without the requirement to make up said time. The Xxxxxxx of the Local sha ll have a reasonable amount of time in any one week to investigate any violation of this Agreement during working hours, with pay , and shall fm1her have the right to meet with representatives ofthe Nationa l on these matters with pay. It is agreed by the partie s hereto that the President or his/her designee ofthe NAGE , Local number R 1-68, shall be allowed five (5) days off without being deducted from the individua l 's vacation time , without loss of pay, or being required to make up said time, to attend Regional or Non-Regional Meetings ofNAGE. Wages will be paid only when union duties and bargaining occur during the employee's nonnal working day.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. SECTION 1. The Association officers shall be granted reasonable time off with pay to attend negotiations with the Board of Selectmen and meetings at level one, level two and level three of the Grievance Procedure, subject to call out for emergencies.
TIME OFF WHILE PERFORMING UNION DUTIES. The Union Chief Xxxxxxx or designee (see note) shall be allowed time off for meetings with School Department officials concerning union business, provided, in the judgment of the Superintendent of Schools or designee, said time off does not interfere with work flow requirements. The Chief Xxxxxxx or designee shall not leave that employee's regularly assigned work in order to investigate a grievance without first obtaining approval from that employee's supervisor. The Chief Xxxxxxx or designee shall be allowed time off with pay during the employee's regular shift working hours for investigating grievances, up to a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per incident involving a grievance or alleged grievance, but not to exceed three (3) hours per week, except with the written permission of the Superintendent of Schools or designee. Union employees elected as delegates to the AFSCME International Convention, Public Legislature Convention, Council 93 Convention, Maine State Labor Council Convention, AFSCME 93 Institute, or union employees elected to attend officer training, organization training, or other such union training/organization sessions required to perform certain union duties shall be allowed leave without pay. This leave will be granted to a maximum of two employees at any one time and shall not exceed fifteen (15) unpaid days per year for the entire bargaining unit. The Superintendent of Schools shall meet with Union officials, upon request, to discuss matters pertaining to non-grievable items not covered in this agreement, provided the Union officers submit a written agenda of items for discussion at least three (3) work days prior to the meeting date. Such meetings shall be at mutually convenient times. Note: The Chief Xxxxxxx may, if necessary, have one other Union officer in such investigations/meetings with the Chief Xxxxxxx.
