XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. Section 1. The Union President, or his/her designee, shall be granted leave from duty with full pay, if on-duty, to attend conferences, seminars, UNION conventions, grievances before the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration, or Prohibited Practice complaints before the State Labor Relations Board, up to a total fifteen (15) days in each fiscal year. If the officer is not on duty during the time spent on the Union business, he/she shall not be entitled to any type of compensation or any adjustment of hours of work.
XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. Section 1. Two (2) members of the Union Negotiating Committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for attendance at all meetings between the Town and the Union for the purpose of negotiating the terms of contract when such meetings take place at a time during which such member is scheduled to work. The Union shall submit the names of the Union negotiators and any of the so-named individuals may be recognized as the member granted leave as stated above. The Union agrees to notify the Town of any changes in the negotiating committee five (5) days in advance of the next scheduled meeting.
Section 2. The two (2) members of the Union Grievance Committee, or the President and one (1) member, shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for attendance at all meetings between the Town and the Union for the purpose of processing grievances, when such meetings take place at a time during which such employees are scheduled to be on duty.
Section 3. One officer or member of the Union, as may be designated by the Union, shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for Union business, such as attending labor conventions and educational conferences, provided that the total leave for the bargaining unit for the purpose set forth in this Section shall not exceed the aggregate of five (5) working days in any fiscal year.
XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. Bargaining unit members designed by the Union may be entitled, in accordance with the provisions herein stated, to draw upon a bank of fifty (50) work hours with pay, per calendar year, for the purpose of conducting business of the Union, including representation of members during the grievance procedure, including mediation and arbitration hearings when held during regular scheduled working hours, but not including time spent in formal negotiations for revisions to this Memorandum of Understanding. The Department must have adequate manpower to provide the services of the affected employees’ division, department or unit in their absence in order to allow the employees to be absent for this purpose. The approval of the Sheriff shall not be unreasonably withheld.
XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. SECTION 1 All employees covered by this agreement who are Officers of the Collective Bargaining Team, not to exceed three (3), shall be allowed time off for negotiations or conferences with the Town administration or the Chief of the Department, without loss of pay or benefits, and without the requirement to make up said loss of time, subject to prior approval of the Chief of the Department.
SECTION 2 The members of the Union Grievance Committee shall be granted leave from duty with no loss of pay or benefits for all meetings between the Town and the Union and for reasonable time required for the purpose of investigating or processing grievances, when such activities take place at a time during which such employees are scheduled to be on duty.
XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. The Chief or Chief's designee shall grant Union representatives reasonable leave from duty with pay, so long as it does not interfere with the overall operations or staffing requirements of the Department, for purposes of:
XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. One (1) member of the negotiating committee shall be granted leave from duty with full pay for all meetings between the City and the Union for the purposes of negotiating the terms of the Agreement, when such meetings take place during such member% duty hours.
XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. Section 1 Any employee who is elected to any office and is given a full time assignment with the International Union shall be granted a leave of absence for the term of such office or assignment not to exceed four (4) years. The period of such leave of absence shall not be considered a break in the record of continuous service. Time spent on International Union business shall not, however, be recognized for longevity pay purposes. Such leaves of absence shall be in written form approved by both the Union and the City.
Section 2 A maximum of five (5) cumulative days of paid release time shall be provided annually to designated employee bargaining unit representatives for the purposes of attending conventions, training meetings and/or other activities deemed necessary or useful to the Union’s collective bargaining and administrative duties. Requests for release shall be made, in writing, by the union’s president through the chain of command to the Human Resource Director, a minimum of two (2) weeks in advance of the release and shall include the names of representatives to be released, the purpose of their release and the duration of the release. The Human Resource Director shall respond to the request within one calendar week of receipt.

XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX. SECTION 1 No more than three (3) members of the Union Negotiating Committee will attend meetings for the purpose of negotiations or conducting business with the City during their working hours without loss of pay.
SECTION 2 Duly accredited delegates and elected officials of the Union shall be granted time off without pay loss to attend Union functions not to exceed, in the aggregate, eighteen (18) days per fiscal year.
SECTION 3 The Union shall furnish to the Chief of Police and the Director of PersonnelHuman Resources a list of the delegates and elected officials attending the Union function and provide the dates and locations of said conventions or conferences. This notification shall be done if possible at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled event so that appropriate coverage and scheduling issues can be addressed.
