VACANCIES, JOB POSTING. A. All vacancies and/or newly-created positions within the bargaining unit shall be posted within seven (7) working days of the date the vacancy occurs. VACANCIES, JOB POSTING. 12.01 When the Unit Director determines a permanent vacancy to exist or creates a new classification, the Employer will post a notice of vacancy for a period of five (5) working-days on a bulletin board provided for this purpose. With regard for the Employer’s ability to operate its business as efficiently as possible, it is understood and agreed that it is the employee’s responsibility to become aware of and apply for any job postings they wish to apply for.

If an Employee is transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit, he shall retain his seniority accumulated up to the date of leaving the unit, but will not accumulate further seniority. Such Employee shall have the right to return to a position in the bargaining unit consistent with his seniority accumulated up to the date of transfer outside the unit. No Employee shall be transferred to another position within the bargaining unit without his consent. New Employees shall not be hired when there are Employees on lay-off who are qualified and willing to perform the job.

  • Vacancy Posting All vacancies shall be posted in a conspicuous place in each building of the district for a period of ten (10) workdays. Said posting shall contain the following information:

S-14-5 Once a position has been posted with an established application deadline date, the position will be filled at the earliest possible time. S-14-9 In the event of a job opening where shift work is a factor, all employees in the same classification shall have the right to apply for a transfer to the shift in question with the employee having the most seniority in that classification being granted the transfer upon approval of the appropriate administrator. If the transfer is not granted, reasons for the denial shall be provided to the Association and the employee.

  • Posting Vacancies 1. Vacancies that occur in certified positions shall be posted online for not less than five (5) working days prior to their being filled or advertised outside the district. The Hospital agrees that it shall post permanent vacant positions within thirty (30) calendar days of the position becoming vacant, unless the Hospital provides the Union notice under Article 9.08 of its intention to eliminate the position. In matters of promotion and staff transfer appointment shall be made of the senior applicant able to meet the normal requirements of the job. Successful employees need not be considered for other vacancies within a six (6) month period unless an opportunity arises which allows the employee to change his or her permanent status. The name of the successful applicant will be posted on the bulletin boards for a period of seven (7) calendar days. Where there are no successful applicants from within this bargaining unit for vacant positions referred to in this Article, employees in other CUPE bargaining units at the Hospital will be selected in accordance with the criteria for selection above, prior to considering persons who are not member of CUPE bargaining units at the Hospital. The employees eligible for consideration shall be limited to those employees who have applied for the position in accordance with this Article, and selection shall be made in accordance with this Article. The successful applicant shall be allowed a trial period of up to thirty (30) days, during which the Hospital will determine if the employee can satisfactorily perform the job. Within this period the employee may voluntarily return, or be returned by the Hospital to the position formerly occupied, without loss of seniority. The vacancy resulting from the posting may be filled on a temporary basis until the trial period is completed. A list of vacancies filled in the preceding month under this Article and the names of the successful applicants will be posted, with a copy provided to the Union.

  • VACANCIES AND PROMOTIONS Section 1. The following procedures will be followed in the posting and filling of vacant or newly created permanent positions. The purpose of this system is to inform employees of vacancies and newly created positions and to afford employees who are interested and who feel they qualify an equal opportunity to apply for the vacant or newly created position. It is understood that newly hired employees and employees on a leave of absence for any reason may not have the same period of notice as other employees concerning position vacancies.
