Vacation Deferment. An employee who is entitled to annual vacation of twenty (20) working days or more in any year:
(a) shall take at least fifteen (15) working days of such annual vacation during the year in which the employee earns such vacation, and
(b) may defer the taking of any part of such annual vacation in excess of fifteen (15) working days. PROVIDED HOWEVER, that the maximum deferred vacation which an employee may accumulate at any one time pursuant to this Article 12.6 shall be twenty (20) working days.
Vacation Deferment. An Employee with four or more weeks of vacation entitlement may defer one week of vacation to a maximum of three (3) weeks deferment. This deferred vacation must be taken as time off with pay as a block. If the Employee leaves employment any unused deferred vacation shall be paid. Requests for deferred vacation time shall be treated as per Article 17.04
Vacation Deferment a) Vacation time earned during the current vacation year may be allowed to be deferred to the next vacation year, staffing requirements permitting, provided that:
Vacation Deferment. (a) Vacation time earned during the current vacation year may be allowed to be deferred to the next vacation year, once every two (2) vacation years, staffing requirements permitting, provided that:
i) the vacation to be deferred must not be more than five (5) working days of the vacation year’s entitlement;
ii) requests for vacation deferment must be submitted in writing by the employee to their department supervisor no later than November 30th of the vacation year in which the vacation is being earned. Response to requests for deferment shall be made not later than December 31st.
iii) such deferred vacation cannot be scheduled during prime time as defined in Article 24.01 (g) and must be taken before December 31st of the vacation year following that in which it was earned; otherwise it shall be either scheduled or paid out by March 31st at the discretion of the Employer.
(b) It is understood that vacation deferment may be allowed, at the discretion of the Employer. If an employee is still on probation on March 31st of the vacation year in which they were initially employed, vacation earned may be deferred with the approval of the manager. Such deferred vacation shall be scheduled by June 30th of the next vacation year.
Vacation Deferment. (a) Vacation time earned during the current vacation year may be deferred to the next vacation year, subject to approval by the Manager.
(b) The vacation to be deferred must not be more than ten (10) working days of the vacation year's entitlement;
(c) Requests for vacation deferment must be submitted by the employee to her immediate supervisor no later than November 30 and approved by December 31 of the current vacation year;
(d) All such deferred vacation must be taken by June 30th of the upcoming vacation year.
Vacation Deferment. An employee may defer their vacation in one year and add it to their vacation in the next following year, up to a maximum of 80 hours at the employee’s discretion. Additional deferment may occur provided that the Company gives approval thereto. In no event shall an employee defer their vacation longer than one year, or be permitted to take more than the total of two vacation periods in any one calendar year, or take a vacation in advance of the year in which it is due. If an employee defers their vacation under the provisions of this Section they shall take it at the convenience of the Company and at such time as not to interfere with the regular vacation schedules of other employees.
Vacation Deferment. An employee who has completed her probationary period may draw vacation days in advance not to exceed entitlement for the current vacation year.
Vacation Deferment. Vacation time earned during the current vacation year may be allowed to be deferred to the next vacation staffing requirements permitting, provided that: The vacation to be deferred must not be more than ten working days of the vacation year's entitlement; Requests for vacation deferment must be submitted in writing by the employee to her department supervisor no later than November 30th. of the vacation year in which the vacation is being earned. Response to requests for deferment shall be made no later than December Such deferred vacation cannot be scheduled during prime time and must be taken before December of the vacation year following that in which it was earned; and Any unused deferred vacation at December shall be scheduled by March at the discretion of the Employer and will not be paid out. Such requests for vacation deferment shall be allowed only once in every two (2) vacation years except in extenuating circumstances satisfactory to the Employer. Vacation deferment may be allowed in case an employee is still on probation on March 1st. of the vacation year in which she was initially employed, provided that such earned vacation shall be taken by June of the next vacation year.
Vacation Deferment. (a) An employee may, after using three (3) weeks of current vacation entitlement, defer any additional vacation entitlement.
(b) Such vacation deferment shall be paid out at the rate earned at the time of deferment.
(c) On November 01 of each calendar year and for thirty (30) days, employees will be given the electronic option to elect to defer through Employee Self-Service all unused hours or shall be paid out in cash. Where no election to defer has been selected, payment in cash of all vacation hours shall be on the first pay date of January.
(d) Any conflict with another employee's vacation shall be resolved by referral to Article 8.04
Vacation Deferment. An Employee who is eligible for retirement benefits, as outlined in Article 25, may elect a ONE TIME election to defer six (6) days of his/her vacation accumulation. The Employee must be currently eligible, or will meet the minimum eligibility requirements of the Maine State Retirement System in the calendar year that the vacation selections would have been utilized. This election must be presented before March 1st of each year to be granted this deferment. This shall be a ONE TIME election, and if a member chooses not to make application for the retirement benefits for the declared calendar year, s/he may utilize all vacation accumulations in the following year or the deferred days may remain in such status until selected or until retirement occurs. However, these days are not eligible for selection outside the annual vacation selection process. Failure to utilize all accumulated days in either the actual vacation selection and/or delayed retirement election shall cause a forfeiture of the remaining unused balance of vacation days*. *An Employee who suffers a serious injury or illness during the deferment period will not suffer the revocation of the vacation balance, but shall not be able to make any additional deferment application.
