VACATION & HOLIDAY PAY. The Employer agrees to pay vacation and holiday pay weekly based on the basic hourly of the employee during the term of this Agreement. The Employer shall show all necessary vacation and holiday pay calculations and the net amount due on the employee’s weekly pay cheque. Payment of vacation and holiday pay and insurance funds shall be included in the employee’s weekly pay cheque. The following days shall be classed as holidays: New Years’ Day Victoria Day New Brunswick Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Good Friday Canada Day Labour Day Remembrance Day Boxing Day Holidays shall also include such days as may be proclaimed by the federal or provincial authority as a holiday. In the event that any such holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday shall be deemed the holiday.
VACATION & HOLIDAY PAY. 11.01 Unless otherwise noted in this Agreement, all employees shall be entitled to receive an amount equal to six percent (6%) of their total gross earnings in vacation pay. a. The vacation for all employees will be remitted monthly by the Employer to the Union’s Vacation Pay Trust Fund, together with an itemized list of the employees for whom remittances are made and the amount of vacation pay remitted for each. b. Remittances to the Vacation Pay Trust Fund shall be made promptly by the twentieth (20th) of each month for the credited amounts in the previous month. 11.03 The Employer will endeavour to grant vacations at the times requested in the vacation season or periods considering business requirements. Permission for vacation requests shall not be unreasonably withheld. In the event that a vacation request cannot be granted the Employer agrees to grant an alternative time when such vacation request can be granted. Vacation requests shall be made in writing by the employee and shall be granted on a first come first served basis by a written response.
VACATION & HOLIDAY PAY. 12.01 Vacation and statutory holiday credits shall be paid to employees covered by this Agreement at the rate of ten percent (10%) of the gross wages earned. For tax purposes, such credits shall be added to the employees weekly pay and taxed prior to deduction. It is understood and agreed that five percent (5%) of the gross wages is to be considered in lieu of statutory holiday pay. 12.02 Vacation pay and statutory holiday pay shall be paid to employees in the last pay period in July each year, in the first pay period in December each year, and on termination. 12.03 Employees shall receive two (2) times their regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on a statutory holiday.

VACATION & HOLIDAY PAY. SECTION 1. Every Employer signatory to this Agreement hereby agrees to deduct from the taxable/net wage of any employee, employed by such Employer during the terms of this Agreement, Vacation/Holiday Pay in the amount specified in the Wage Schedule A and to remit said amount in the following manner: (a) Upon signing of this Agreement, the Union will notify the Employer in writing of the amount of Vacation/Holiday Pay specified in the Wage Schedule A. (b) For each payroll period, the Employer will deduct from the taxable/net wage of each employee the amount specified in the Wage Schedule A based on the number of hours worked during said payroll period and will accumulate said deduction to the end of the month. Vacation/Holiday pay shall be deducted and paid on all hours worked. First and Second Period Apprentices shall have no Vacation/Holiday pay deducted from their taxable/net wage. Third through Sixth Period Apprentices shall have Vacation/Holiday pay deducted at the same percentage as their wage compared to a journeyman. (c) On or before the fifteenth (15th) day of each month, the Employer will remit to the current Administrator the entire amount of Vacation/Holiday Pay due and owing as to each employee for the month previous. (d) The parties agree that, contributions to the Holiday and Vacation Fund shall be transmitted to the current administrator who thereupon will deposit the money in the bank. These contributions shall be made to a bank in the name of each individual worker and the bank shall set individual accounts for each employee. Interest on the accounts shall be paid to the employee.

VACATION & HOLIDAY PAY. 13.01 All employees shall be entitled to receive an amount equal to six percent (6%) of their total annual gross earnings in vacation pay and four percent (4%) in lieu of statutory holiday pay. For tax purposes, vacation pay and statutory holiday pay shall be taxed over the period of time during which it was earned. 13.02 Approval of vacation time is at the sole discretion of the Employer. Vacation requests will not be unreasonably denied. a. The vacation pay for all employees will be remitted monthly by the Employer to the Union’s Vacation Pay Trust Fund. b. Remittances to the Vacation Pay Trust Fund shall be made promptly by the fifteenth (15th) of each month for the credited amounts in the previous month, in order to satisfy the legal requirements pertaining to the disbursement of vacation pay. 13.04 When work is performed on the following statutory holidays, employees will be paid at one and one half (1½) times the regular rate: New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and any other statutory holiday proclaimed by the federal or provincial government.
VACATION & HOLIDAY PAY. SECTION 1: In order to provide funds for vacation and holiday pay, the Employer agrees to pay to a designated depository the sum of six percent (6%) of all gross wages, over and above all other compensation, for all journeymen employees in the jurisdiction of Local No. 1236. Apprentice vacation rates are four percent (4%) in accordance with ARTICLE 6. SECTION 2: Vacation and holiday contributions shall be paid monthly in accordance with ARTICLE 13. SECTION 3: The amounts paid for vacation and holiday pay shall be deposited to the account of the individual employee, and each employee hereby agrees (through the Union acting as exclusive bargaining agent) that any such funds remaining after the account has been in-active for two (2) years will be applied as provided in Section 4.

Vacation requests shall be made in writing by the employee and shall be granted on a first come first served basis by a written response. 11.04 All employees shall take a minimum of two (2) weeks vacation per calendar year.
