WAGES AND RATES OF PAY. 7.01 Wage Schedules applicable to various job classifications are as set forth in Schedule “A”.
7.02 Additional classifications may be established only by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union during the term of this Agreement and the rates for same shall be subject to negotiation between the Employer and the Union.

8.02 Wages shall be paid weekly by direct deposit and shall be accompanied by a separate statement identifying both the Employer and employee, outlining regular hours worked, the hourly rate, overtime hours worked, the total earnings, the amount of each deduction and net earnings.
8.03 In the event that a new classification(s) is established by the Employer during the term of this Agreement, the wage rate applicable for such newly established classification(s) shall be subject to negotiations between the Employer and the Union. Should the Employer and the Union fail to successfully negotiate such wage rate, the parties agree that the sole issue of the establishment of such wage rate may be submitted to arbitration in accordance with Article 23 - Arbitration of this Agreement.

The wages shall apply to all work performed in the construction, erection, repair, remodelling or alteration of a building or structure, in whole or in part, which shall be or is being used for commercial, industrial or institutional purposes.
7.02 An employee who is sent home from work before he has worked three (3) hours, shall receive a minimum of three (3) hours pay at the rate of pay he would have earned if the work had been performed. In the case that inclement or stormy weather causes work to stop or prevents work from starting, employees who report for work shall receive a minimum pay of three (3) hours pay at their regular rate of pay. In such cases, employees shall make reasonable efforts to contact their supervisor by phone or text to determine whether their shift is cancelled due to weather prior to the beginning of the work day. If they do not, they will not be entitled to show up time. Employees must inform the Employer of a means of being contacted on short notice. If the Employer so attempts to inform the employee of a lack of work due to weather but is unable to do so, the employee will not be entitled to show up time. When the weather does not permit employees to start work at the regular starting time and the superintendent decides to send the employees home, any employee who has reported for work will be compensated with one hour of his regular pay, unless he was notified beforehand by his Employer not to report for work.
7.03 Where a new classification is created, the Union will be notified and negotiations commenced to determine the wage rate to be paid to the employee(s) involved. Failure to reach agreement shall be subjected to the Grievance Procedure.
7.04 Wages shall be paid weekly, within five (5) calendar days following the end of the pay period, by cheque or direct deposit and shall be accompanied by a separate statement identifying both the Employer and employee, outlining regular hours worked, the hourly rate, overtime hours worked, overtime hours banked, the total earnings, amounts of deductions, net earnings and contributions to the Unions Health Fund and Pension Fund.

9.03 In the event that a new classification is established by the Employer the wage rate applicable for such a newly established classification shall be subject to negotiation between the Employer and the Union. Should the Employer and the Union fail to agree on such wage rate, the sole issue of the establishment of such wage rate may be submitted to arbitration in accordance with the arbitration provisions of this Agreement.
9.04 When there is a temporary shortage of work within a given work day in a specific classification, the Employer may assign employees to another classification at their usual rate of pay provided the employee is qualified to do that work.

7.03 The Employer agrees to pay three (3) hours of wages in the event that the employee reports for work in the usual manner and is prevented from starting work due to any cause not within his control. In cases of inclement weather conditions, the employee shall be obligated to call the Employer to ascertain whether or not he shall report for work.
7.04 If the Employer bids on a job, the specifications of which call for the employment of some local labour or the paying of prevailing rates of pay or both, representatives of the owner of the project, of the Employer and of the Union shall meet to make a decision in regard to the employment of such labour or in regard to the rates to be paid or both.

7.03 In the event that a new classification(s) is established by the Employer during the term of this Agreement, the wage rate applicable for such newly established classification(s) shall be subject to negotiations between the Employer and the Union. Should the Employer and the Union fail to successfully negotiate such wage rate, the parties agree that the sole issue of the establishment of such wage rate may be submitted to arbitration in accordance with Article 21-Arbitration of this Agreement, the provisions of which shall apply with all necessary modifications thereto to accommodate any such submission herein to arbitration.

8.03 In the event that a new classification(s) is established by the Employer during the term of this Agreement, the wage rate applicable for such newly established classification(s) shall be subject to negotiations between the Employer and the Union. Should the Employer and the Union fail to successfully negotiate such wage rate, the parties agree that the sole issue of the establishment of such wage rate may be submitted to arbitration in accordance with Article 23 - Arbitration of this Agreement.
8.04 When there is a temporary shortage of work within a given work day in a specific classification, the Employer may employ the affected employees in another classification at the rate of pay of their usual specified classification provided the employee is qualified to do the required work.
8.05 Employees given the option to work in another classification for which they are qualified instead of being laid off shall be paid the rate for the new classification. This will be recorded in writing and signed by the Employer, the employee and the Xxxxxxx.
8.06 If the Employer bids on jobs which specify a specific rate schedule, the parties agree to meet to determine the rate to be paid for the particular project.
