Be Inclusive. Stay alert. Be engaged!
Be Inclusive. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do and is essential for a working environment where everyone feels welcome and heard. Be engaged – Be engaged and reliable. We expect staff to meet/speak regularly with the consultants to answer any queries and discuss the needs of the project. Be respectful – Disagreement is no excuse for disrespect. Even in challenging situations, mutual respect should be the basis of all interaction. Be considerate - Please keep an open mind to differences in cultural and demographic perspectives. Everyone brings their unique perspectives and contributions, which should be considered and valued. Be excited - We want to work in a team where everyone is engaged and is excited to make positive change and make the learning and teaching experience more inclusive. Our Practice Faculty engagement – It is expected that all faculty actively support and facilitate strong partnership that bring our values to life. This is sustained through co-creation and contribution with a transformative approach that seeks to create a teaching and learning community that enables open and challenging dialogue and combats any oppressive practice. Further work - If staff would like to work further with the Collaborative during or after the completion of a project, this will be considered as new work for the Collaborative and may not be prioritized to be delivered quickly. This will be largely dependent on the workload of the Collaborative. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY All harassment, bullying and exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: threats of violence, discriminatory jokes and language, inappropriate behavior, explicit or violent material via electronic devices or other means, personal insults (particularly xenophobic, sexist or other derogatory terms relating to identity markers) and advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior. Behavior of both consultants and staff partners is monitored by the Collaborative supervisor, and issues raised will be discussed at regular review meetings. Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct will result in either: Termination of a project Removal of staff partner or consultant from the project If behavior is in breach of our zero-tolerance policy or deemed as a serious matter, then a formal complaint will be raised according to University Policy.
