Court/Jury Duty. (a) An Employee summoned for jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness for court shall be paid any difference between payment by the court and that normally received as wages by the Employee.
(b) When an Employee is subpoenaed as a witness for court in a matter arising out of the performance of her duties, at a time when she would not otherwise be working, it shall be treated as time worked.
(c) Except by mutual agreement, Employees shall not be required to attend work whereby the Employee's combined hours of work and jury duty/witness time exceed the regular scheduled daily hours of work of a full-time Employee in the work area.
Court/Jury Duty. Employees will receive their regular pay while involuntarily serving as a juror, or as a witness in any matter directly related to his/her County employment. Annual leave will not be affected while serving as a juror or a witness as described above. If the employee or official receives a fee for such service performed during paid working hours, the fee must be turned over to the County Treasurer. However, the employee or official may retain any travel or expense reimbursement. Employees who are witnesses or litigants in cases not resulting from their official duties must make arrangements with their supervisor and account for their absence with annual leave, compensatory time off, or approved Leave Without Pay.
Court/Jury Duty. 14.3.1. Salary of a teacher will be maintained, and no deduction will be made for the cost of the substitute if the teacher is subpoenaed for court jury duty or as a witness, providing the teacher reimburses any court-paid stipend to the School Division.
Court/Jury Duty. Regular employees subpoenaed as a witness for Council-related business, or called and selected for jury duty, shall be allowed their regular daily compensation for the period the court duty requires their absence from work duty, plus any expenses paid by the court. An employee who is released from court duty or jury duty during the weekday shall be required to return to work as soon as reasonably possible unless alternative arrangements for other leave have been made.
Court/Jury Duty. Employees will be compensated for a regular day of pay during those day(s) devoted to court/jury duty. In order to receive compensation, employees are required to attach the court/jury duty subpoena and documentation of any compensation received for court/jury duty service to their/a time sheet. Court duty is defined as the time the employee serves as a witness in a trial or has his or her deposition taken in any school related matter pending in court. Court/Jury duty remuneration, less mileage and meal expenses, shall be reimbursed to the District. An employee shall give notice of pending court/jury duty to the District and the Association President no later than five (5) days prior to the employee serving. The Board and the Association recognize that extended absence due to court/jury duty may cause the District to seek assistance to complete work normally done by an employee. In the case of an employee’s absence, the District will seek the assistance of other employees by way of temporary shift changes or temporary building assignment changes to complete the needed work. If attempts to complete these work assignments fail, the District may explore other options through temporary agreements with the Association. Each case will be examined individually.
Court/Jury Duty. When an Employee is subpoenaed for jury duty, or as a court witness, such Employee shall not suffer any loss of salary or wages while so serving. Such Employee shall be released from duty. Any money paid to the Employee for such court attendance shall be turned in to the Employer.
Court/Jury Duty. A seniority employee who is summoned to attend court as a witness, as the result of a work-related incident, shall be paid the difference between the hours they would have been scheduled to work and the payment received for any such services. The seniority employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received, if any.
Court/Jury Duty. An employee who serves on jury duty or is subpoenaed to appear in Court on the behalf of the Employer on a job-related matter while normally scheduled to be on duty, will be paid the difference between his/her pay for court duty and his/her regular rate of pay, provided that the employee provides proof of the payment made by the Court. In addition, to be eligible for the above, the employee must return to work after their Court duty has been completed.
Court/Jury Duty. SECTION 1 An officer who is subpoenaed to testify in a case involving the Federal, State or Municipal courts, or administrative agencies of the State, concerning matters that are personal in nature, and not official City of Xxxxxx police matters, shall be allowed time off charged to vacation, compensatory time, or holidays, if accrued, with prior notification and approval of the City Manager or his designee.
SECTION 2 An officer serving on jury duty shall be paid their normal rate of pay for that period and shall not be charged any of their accrued paid time off. The officer shall give the City any payment made to him by the courts.
SECTION 3 An officer serving on jury duty shall present the original summons or subpoena from the clerk of the court in advance and upon termination of the jury duty, the officer shall submit the statement from the clerk of the court indicating actual dates of the jury duty.
Court/Jury Duty. In the event an employee covered by this Agreement is called to serve on jury duty or is subpoenaed as a Crown witness; he/she will be paid at his/her regular rate of pay. The employee must submit written confirmation weekly from the Court Officer, of such court service, indicating the actual time spent in court before payment will be made.
