EDUCATIONAL GROWTH a. When the Superintendent requires a bargaining unit member to attend a workshop, seminar, or other similar program, the Board shall pay registration, tuition or such fees as required for the workshop, seminar, or program. Travel expenses will be reimbursed consistent with Board guidelines. b. The Board shall appropriate for each fiscal year (i.e., July 1 – June 30), Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000) to reimburse classified staff for class/training tuition for any position/future position within the District. c. Bargaining unit members may apply to attend on a first come first served basis, workshops, seminars, or other similar programs that relate to their employment responsibilities. If approved by the Superintendent or his/her designee, bargaining unit members will have registration, tuition or such fees as are required, up to a maximum of five hundred ($500) per fiscal year (i.e., July 1 – June 30) paid by the Board. Travel expenses will be reimbursed consistent with Board guidelines. d. Bargaining unit members must meet with their supervisor and receive approval of the supervisor and the Superintendent on the appropriate form provided for this purpose prior to enrolling in the college/training course. Correspondence courses, online and distance learning classes from accredited universities or colleges, adult education providers or training centers are eligible for reimbursement with prior approval. e. Bargaining unit members shall submit written proof in the form on an official transcript of completed credit at an accredited university with a passing grade or documentation of satisfactory completion from the adult education provider or training center to the Superintendent after the conclusion of the quarter (semester) in which the previously approve course was taken. Furthermore, the bargaining unit member will take the responsibility to obtain and turn in such proof in an expeditious and timely manner; f. The reimbursement is to be payable as a single sum in a separate check following presentation of satisfactory evidence that the course work has been completed; and g. Each bargaining unit member receiving reimbursement under this Section, prior to this/her receipt of such pay, shall agree that he/she will work in this District for at least one (1) full school year following receipt of such pay. EDUCATIONAL GROWTH. The Board agrees that incentive should be provided for those teachers taking course work beyond that required to maintain certification. A. For each block of ten (10) semester hours of credit earned beyond the requirements necessary to obtain permanent, continuing, or professional certification, the teacher's salary will be increased $200 for that and succeeding years. This incentive will not be paid to teachers on the BA+35/MA or MA+30 salary column except as noted in part B of this Article. B. Upon proof of completion of a unit of ten (10) semester hours of credit earned beyond the BA+35/Master’s degree, or beyond the MA+30, the teacher's salary will be increased $200 for that and succeeding years. In order to receive this stipend for the current school year, the necessary course work must be completed by the end of the university's fall semester. In order to receive this stipend, qualifying course work must be completed after BA+35/Master’s degree, or MA+30 has been earned/obtained. C. When the Board encourages a teacher to take extra course work to qualify for a particular position within the school district, it will pay the cost of the tuition for those courses.
EDUCATIONAL GROWTH. Continuous job related educational and job-related growth and training is desirable. Toward this end, the Board agrees to provide tuition grants and/or reimbursement of approved costs. Prior approval by the Superintendent for any and all job-related courses, training, etc., and related costs is mandatory. The Board agrees to reimburse an employee up to $2,200.00 per course to include tuition, books, fees, etc. based on a Course Grade of A, B, or C. When members of the SSAA are required to obtain additional certifications that will be directly applicable to their job functions, all costs for instruction and testing shall be paid by the district. When additional certifications are obtained within the profession of the employee, but are not currently required by the job functions will be paid by the individual. For the purposes of this agreement, eligible certificates are those that are professionally recognized as an industry standard in the position, and shall be approved by the supervisor before application for reimbursement. Tuition grants will be made available to support service administrators in accordance with the following tuition grant program. A. Should the Board require an employee in writing to participate in required training, seminars, or certifications, the Board will pay the cost thereof. B. Payment for specific certifications to enhance their job qualifications and performance shall have director supervisor and the Director of Human Resources approval. C. The Board shall provide the maximum $10,000, which will be available for reimbursement of tuition for course taken in accordance with the provisions of the article. Any unused funds shall not be carried over to the following year. D. Tuition reimbursement will be based upon this Article in the case of academic course, and on industry standard rates for certifications in the case of technical accreditations for a maximum of three courses per year per participant. E. The applicant for the tuition grant shall apply to the Superintendent of his or her designee for approval prior to registering for the course. F. The application must include: 1. Name of the course 2. Location of the instruction 3. Purpose and other pertinent information G. Upon Superintendent's approval the applicant shall provide a copy of the registration forms and proof of payment to the Personnel Office. H. EDUCATIONAL GROWTH. 10.01 In the event that the Superintendent deems it appropriate to direct a classified employee to attend a workshop, seminar, program, adult education class and/or a college or university course, the Board agrees to pay all registration, tuition and mileage ($.35/mile) fees for the employee.

  • Professional Growth This Section applies to those regularly assigned teachers who do not hold a clear multiple or single subject teaching credential and to those who desire to maintain such a credential. The minimum requirement for compliance with this Section shall be: 18.8.1 Successful service as a classroom teacher or successful service authorized by a services credential. The minimum length of service shall be equivalent to one-half (0.5) of a school year; 18.8.2 Completion of an individual program of Professional Growth that shall consist of a minimum of one-hundred-and-fifty (150) clock hours of participation in activities which contribute to competence, performance or effectiveness in the profession of education. Acceptable activities shall be defined to include: • the completion of courses offered by regionally accredited colleges and universities; • participation in educational conferences, workshops, teacher center programs, or staff development programs, including District approved school site staff development programs; • participation in systematic programs of observation and analysis of teaching; • service in a leadership role in a professional organization related to instruction; and • participation in educational research or innovation efforts. 18.8.3 An individual program of Professional Growth shall be developed and planned by the holder of a clear teaching credential. 18.8.4 Before a teacher coming under the provisions of this section commences or amends an individual program of Professional Growth, the advisor shall certify to the teacher that the planned program or amendment complies with this section. 18.8.5 The District shall designate only certificated administrators to serve as Professional Growth Advisors (hereinafter referred to as “advisor”). A list of these advisors, including work location, will be published by the District annually, prior to the beginning of the school calendar year. The responsibility of an advisor shall be to determine whether activities identified in the plan of a teacher comply with these provisions. 18.8.6 On a form provided by the state, a credential holder shall write a Professional Growth plan, which shall identify his or her Professional Growth goals, and the Professional Growth activities he or she proposes to pursue. 18.8.7 A credential holder may amend a Professional Growth plan by adding, deleting or changing any of the original or previously amended goals or proposed activities. 18.8.8 The Professional Growth advisor shall sign a Professional Growth plan, and shall initial an amendment to a Professional Growth plan, if it is in compliance with this section and the Professional Growth needs of the teacher. 18.8.9 An advisor shall complete and return to the credential holder certification of this initial plan, initialing any revisions or verification of completion within ten (10) working days of submission to the advisor. If an advisor finds that he/she cannot certify an initial plan, initial a modification, or verify completion, the advisor shall notify the credential holder of the reason(s) in writing within ten (10) working days of submission. 18.8.10 If a credential holder believes that his/her advisor has taken an adverse action that he/she considers to be arbitrary or contrary to the terms of this section, the credential holder may seek another advisor or appeal the adverse action to the Executive Secretary of the Commission on Teaching Credentialing. 18.8.11 A clock hour for purposes of credited Professional Growth Activities shall be the actual time spent in the activity, including preparation time spent only if the teacher is a presenter of the course. College, university or equivalent courses shall be credited as fifteen (15) clock hours for each semester unit, ten (10) clock hours for each quarter unit, and thirteen (13) hours for each trimester unit. 18.8.12 A teacher shall submit evidence to prove that the Professional Growth activity has been satisfactorily completed. 18.8.13 The Union and the District shall provide a joint meeting for credential holders no later than October 1st of each school year. This meeting shall be mandatory for all teachers who are subject to the provisions of this section and who are new to the District. 18.8.14 The Union and the District agree to form a Professional Growth Program Joint Advisory/Planning Committee to consider possible recommendations for modifications to this section. 18.8.15 The committee shall be composed of three (3) members appointed by the Union and three (3) members appointed by the District.

  • Educational Program A. DSST PUBLIC SCHOOLS shall implement and maintain the following characteristics of its educational program in addition to those identified in the Network Contract at DSST XXXX MIDDLE SCHOOL (“the School” within Exhibit A-3). These characteristics are subject to modification with the District’s written approval:

  • Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Clinical Management for Behavioral Health Services (CMBHS) System 1. request access to CMBHS via the CMBHS Helpline at (000) 000-0000. 2. use the CMBHS time frames specified by System Agency. 3. use System Agency-specified functionality of the CMBHS in its entirety. 4. submit all bills and reports to System Agency through the CMBHS, unless otherwise instructed.

  • Educational Services Any service or supply for education, training or retraining services or testing including: special education, remedial education; cognitive remediation; wilderness/outdoor treatment, therapy or adventure programs (whether or not the program is part of a Residential Treatment facility or otherwise licensed institution); job training or job hardening programs; educational services and schooling or any such related or similar program including therapeutic programs within a school setting.

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.

  • Investment Management If and to the extent requested by the Advisor, the Sub-Advisor shall, subject to the supervision of the Advisor, manage all or a portion of the investments of the Portfolio in accordance with the investment objective, policies and limitations provided in the Portfolio's Prospectus or other governing instruments, as amended from time to time, the Investment Company Act of 1940 (the "1940 Act") and rules thereunder, as amended from time to time, and such other limitations as the Trust or Advisor may impose with respect to the Portfolio by notice to the Sub-Advisor. With respect to the portion of the investments of the Portfolio under its management, the Sub-Advisor is authorized to make investment decisions on behalf of the Portfolio with regard to any stock, bond, other security or investment instrument, and to place orders for the purchase and sale of such securities through such broker-dealers as the Sub-Advisor may select. The Sub-Advisor may also be authorized, but only to the extent such duties are delegated in writing by the Advisor, to provide additional investment management services to the Portfolio, including but not limited to services such as managing foreign currency investments, purchasing and selling or writing futures and options contracts, borrowing money or lending securities on behalf of the Portfolio. All investment management and any other activities of the Sub-Advisor shall at all times be subject to the control and direction of the Advisor and the Trust's Board of Trustees.

  • COVERED HEALTHCARE SERVICES This section describes covered healthcare services. This plan covers services only if they meet all of the following requirements: • Listed as a covered healthcare service in this section. The fact that a provider has prescribed or recommended a service, or that it is the only available treatment for an illness or injury does not mean it is a covered healthcare service under this plan. • Medically necessary, consistent with our medical policies and related guidelines at the time the services are provided. • Not listed in Exclusions Section. • Received while a member is enrolled in the plan. • Consistent with applicable state or federal law. We review medical necessity in accordance with our medical policies and related guidelines. Our medical policies can be found on our website. Our medical policies are written to help administer benefits for the purpose of claims payment. They are made available to you for informational purposes and are subject to change. Medical policies are not meant to be used as a guide for your medical treatment. Your medical treatment remains a decision made by you with your physician. If you have questions about our medical policies, please call Customer Service. When a new service or drug becomes available, when possible, we will review it within six (6) months of one of the events described below to determine whether the new service or drug will be covered: • the assignment of an American Medical Association (AMA) Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code in the annual CPT publication; • final Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval; • the assignment of processing codes other than CPT codes or approval by governing or regulatory bodies other than the FDA; • submission to us of a claim meeting the criteria above; and • generally, the first date an FDA approved prescription drug is available in pharmacies (for prescription drug coverage only). During the review period, new services and drugs are not covered. For all covered healthcare services, please see the Summary of Medical Benefits and the Summary of Pharmacy Benefits to determine the amount that you pay and any benefit limits.

  • Health Care The Company will reimburse the Executive for the cost of maintaining continuing health coverage under COBRA for a period of no more than 12 months following the date of termination, less the amount the Executive is expected to pay as a regular employee premium for such coverage. Such reimbursements will cease if the Executive becomes eligible for similar coverage under another benefit plan.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.
