Holiday and Sunday Work. (a) Subject to this clause, all weekly wage employees shall be granted the following holidays without deduction of pay: New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Labour Day, the day observed as Queen's Birthday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, or such other day in substitution for any specified day as may be agreed upon between the Union and any employer and an additional holiday shall be granted on a working day to be agreed between the Union and the employers together with any other holiday proclaimed to be observed throughout the State. Provided that payment shall be at the rates prescribed by Appendix A - Wage Rates Clause 13, Junior Rates, and 14, Special Rates, of this award for the occupation in which the employee is employed, and in addition to the above payment in the case of employees on overaward payments, piece or bonus work or any other system of payment by results, the average on a daily basis of their overaward payments, piece or bonus work earnings, ordinary hours as calculated and utilised for annual leave pay purposes for the immediately preceding period of annual leave; or in the case of an employee who has not previously taken annual leave whilst in the service of the employer, the average of their overaward payments, piece or bonus work earnings during ordinary hours over a period of not less than 3 months ending 4 weeks prior to the holiday: Provided further that where an employee is not employed during the whole of the 3 months, the average shall be calculated on the period of employment falling within the said 3 months. (b) Subject to the provisions of subclause (i) of this clause if any of the above holidays occur on a Saturday or a Sunday and are not observed on any other day, then employees shall not be paid for any such Saturday or Sunday. (c) An employee absent as the result of an accident sustained in the course of his/her employment or in the periodic journeying to or from his/her place of employment and who is receiving payment under any Workers' Compensation Act shall not be entitled to payment but shall only be entitled to the difference between the payment received for such day under any Workers Compensation Act and his/her ordinary award wage for the holiday. Holiday and Sunday Work. All work performed by day shifts on Sundays shall be paid for at double time, and on holidays at time and one half. One night shift (either starting on the night prior to or on the night of the holiday) shall be designated as the holiday shift for night shifts, and, if worked, will be paid for at time and one half. Section 14.01 There shall be nine recognized holidays as follows:

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work Week: Five (5) consecutive days per week, Sunday to Saturday. Work Day: Seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours per day. Any shift starting after 12:01 p.m. will receive a shift premium in accordance with Article 13.01 ii).

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Holiday Work Employees who work on a holiday shall receive one and one-half (1-1/2) times their straight time regular rate of pay for all hours actually worked on the holiday, plus holiday pay.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.
