JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. An employee called for jury selection, to serve as a juror or as a Crown witness must inform the Employer as soon as they receive the subpoena and the Employer will reimburse the employee the difference between their jury or witness duty fee, and their regular wages. Said employee will be paid as if they had worked for time spent during regularly scheduled workdays for the employee. An employee shall suffer no loss of wages while serving as a subpoenaed Crown witness or jury duty during regular working hours, if selected.

JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. Employees who are subpoenaed to serve as a juror or appear as a crown witness will be granted leave for that purpose. If any compensation received is less than the Employee’s regular rate of pay for the duration of the leave period, the Company will reimburse the difference to the Employee, up to a maximum of one month of leave.
JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. 21.01 The Gallery shall pay an employee who is required for Jury service, or subpoenaed or summonsed as a Crown witness, the difference between her straight time hourly rate for the number of hours she normally works on her shift which she spent on Jury service or as a Crown witness and the payment she receives for Jury service or as a Crown witness. The employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. Such employee must return to work at every reasonable opportunity during the period of such Jury duty or as a Crown witness.
JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. 19.01 A permanent full-time regular employee who has completed his probationary period and who is subpoenaed to appear in Court as a Crown witness, or who is called for jury duty, will receive the difference between his regular earnings for each day of necessary absence, and the fee received from the Court, provided the employee furnishes the Company with a certificate of service and satisfactory evidence as to the amount of fee received. 19.02 For the purpose of this Article, the regular earnings of an employee for a day shall be deemed to be the earnings to which he would be entitled and by virtue of Article 17. paid Holiday, or any portion thereof. Upon receipt of the jury duty summons or subpoena, the employee shall immediately notify the Employer. Upon release from jury duty or Crown witness duty, the employee shall immediately notify the Company of his availability to return to work.
JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. 26.01 An employee who is summoned and reports for jury duty and/or jury selection or witness duty shall be granted a leave of absence with pay for any time lost from their normal work week provided: (a) they have notified their supervisor immediately upon receiving such summons; and (b) they shall have deposited with the Company the full amount of compensation received for such jury duty or witness duty less any allowed travelling expenses. (c) any shift employee who is summoned and reports for jury duty or serves as a Witness will be granted a leave of absence with pay from their normally scheduled shift for that day. 26.02 Whenever an employee who has been granted a leave of absence pursuant to this Article is released from duty with two (2) hours or more to the end of their shift, they shall, as a condition of receiving full pay for that day, return to work immediately.

To qualify for such make-up pay the employee must promptly notify the Company of his selection for jury duty or crown witness, must furnish proof of service and amount received for jury duty or as crown witness and must return to work at every reasonable opportunity during the period of such jury or crown witness duty.

JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. Effective September 12, 2017: Any employee called for Jury Duty or as a Crown Witness will be allowed time-off during the period of such duty up to and including twenty (20) working days. The employee's regular pay will be continued and any remuneration received for such duty will be remitted to the Director, Human Resources. In special circumstances, the Employer may extend payment on the above basis beyond the time limit imposed above.
JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. An employee summoned to jury selection, jury duty, or subpoenaed as a witness for the Crown shall be paid wages amounting to the difference between the amount paid to them for such services and the amount they would have earned had they worked on such days. This does not apply if the employee is excused from such services for the rest of the day, or days, and fails to report back to work, or if such services are required on the employee’s scheduled day off. When an employee is summoned to jury duty or subpoenaed as a material witness while working the afternoon or night shift, they shall be entitled to eight (8) hours rest between the completion of their court obligations and the commencement of their shift.
JURY DUTY AND CROWN WITNESS LEAVE. Any employee who is required to serve on a jury or subpoenaed as a Crown witness shall be paid the difference between the amount paid for such service and their normal pay, computed at their normal hourly rate, for hours lost from work up to forty (40) hours in a week subject to the following provisions: (a) employees must notify the supervisor within one (1) working day after receipt of notice of selection for jury duty or being served the summons to appear as a Crown witness; (b) any employee called for Jury Duty or subpoenaed as a Crown witness, and who is temporarily excused from attendance at court, must report for work if more than half their scheduled shift remains; (c) employees selected for Jury Duty or subpoenaed as a Crown witness, who are on other than the day shift, shall be assigned to the day shift for those days they are required to serve as a juror or Crown witness. In order to be eligible for such payments, the employee must furnish a written statement from the proper public official, showing the date and time served, and the amount of pay received.
