Lieu of Benefits. All employees will receive in the first year of the Agreement six per cent (6%) of their gross earnings in lieu of benefits, six per cent (6%) in the second year, and six per cent (6%) in the third year. In addition, during the life of the Agreement, the parties agree to investigate the possibility of a complete benefit package for the workers. If it is found that an affordable package is available, the “in lieu of benefits” will be eliminated and the benefit package will replace the “in lieu of percentage”.
