Loss of Seniority/Employment. An employee shall lose all seniority and all health and welfare benefits will cease and the employee's employment shall be deemed to be terminated for the following reasons:
(a) voluntary resignation;
(b) discharge for cause;
(c) absence from work without leave of absence being granted by, or explanation being given satisfactorily to the Employer, for an absence of two (2) working days or more;
(d) after a layoff extending for a period of twelve (12) months;
(e) failure to return to work upon termination of an authorized leave or utilizes a leave of absence for any purpose other than that for which the leave of absence was granted, without an explanation that is satisfactory to The Employer;
(f) absence for more than eighteen (18) months because of sickness or physical disability or both. This clause shall be interpreted consistent with the Ontario Human Rights Code and other relevant legislation.

A. He/she voluntarily resigns;
B. He/she is discharged for just cause and not reinstated;
C. He/she retires;
D. He/she is laid off for a period greater than their seniority or thirty (30) months, whichever is less;
E. He/she is absent from work for three (3) consecutive working days without notification to the Employer and without acceptable excuse for not notifying the Employer;
F. He/she fails to return to work upon recall from layoff;
X. Xx/she fails to return to work after expiration of leave of absence; and
X. Xx/she makes an intentionally false statement on his/her employment application or on an application for leave of absence or any other employment record or form.

5. She is absent from work for two (2) consecutive working days without notification to the Employer, except in an emergency whereby failure to notify Employer is beyond the control of the employee.
6. She fails to return to work upon recall from layoff.
7. She fails to return to work after expiration of leave of absence.
Loss of Seniority/Employment. 8.01 Seniority shall terminate, and an employee shall cease to be employed by the Employer when he:
(a) Voluntarily quits his employment with the Employer.
(b) Is discharged and is not reinstated through the Grievance Procedure or Arbitration.
(c) Is laid-off and not re-employed within twelve (12) months from the date of layoff.
(d) Fails to report for work within seven (7) working days after being notified by the Employer following a layoff. Notification by the Employer shall be by Registered Mail or hand delivery to the employee's last known address.

A. He/she quits or retires.
B. He/she is discharged and the discharge is not reversed through the procedure set forth in this Agreement.
C. He/she is absent for three (3) consecutive working days without notifying the Employer. After such an absence, the Employer will send a written notification to the employee at his/her last known address that he/she has lost his seniority and his/her employment has been terminated. In unusual circumstances exceptions will be made if acceptable to the Employer and the Union.
D. If he/she does not return from work when recalled from layoff, as set forth in the recall procedure. In unusual circumstances exceptions will be made if acceptable to the Employer and the Union.
E. If he/she does not return to work immediately upon the expiration of his/her sick leave or leave of absence. In unusual circumstances exceptions will be made if acceptable to the Employer and the Union.
F. When he/she is laid off for a period greater than his/her seniority, or twenty-four (24) consecutive calendar months, whichever is less.
G. If, while on unpaid health leave of absence, sick leave or while receiving workers' compensation benefits from the Employer, he/she accepts another job, applies for and receives unemployment benefits, or goes into business for himself/herself.
H. If an employee falsifies written information on his original employment application if detected within two (2) years of the application or if the false information concerns the employee's certifications, education degrees, or criminal record.
I. Use of confidential material received while dispatching emergency services, in a manner contrary to law.
