Maxiflex. Allows employees to vary their start and end times on a daily basis, vary work days, and work more than eight hours per day. Full-time employees can complete the 80 hour per pay period basic work requirement in fewer than 10 days. All provisions of the maxiflex schedule apply to part-time employees, except that the employee’s basic work requirement is less than 80 hours.

Actual arrival time under this 2 hour glide may only occur from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and actual departure time must occur between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Full-time employees working under Maxiflex who do not work 80 hours in a pay period must charge their leave or use previously earned credit hours, as appropriate, in order to make up the 80 hour requirement. To facilitate NAD’s customer service requirements and to increase flexibility of available work hours, employees are encouraged to avail themselves of a schedule that directly supports accomplishing NAD’s unique and critical mission objectives. The supervisor shall consider these factors in reviewing Maxiflex schedule requests.

Maxiflex. Any hours more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week that are officially ordered in advance, but not including credit hours. Credit hours worked by the employee beyond 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week are not overtime hours.

Employees may request, and be considered for, participation in the AWS program by submitting a written request to their supervisor. 2.1.2. The supervisor will respond to the employee’s request within 14 calendar days of receipt of the request. 2.1.3. The Employee and supervisor will complete the appropriate Alternative Work Schedule Form and the supervisor will forward the form to the Civilian Payroll Office for processing. 2.1.4. Unless an employee’s request is received and approved, the Employer may utilize any work schedule at their discretion in accordance with OPM guidelines. 2.1.5. If the Employer determines that any organization which is participating in a program is being substantially disrupted in carrying out its functions or is incurring additional costs because of such participation, the Employer may - - restrict the employees’ choice of arrival and departure time, - restrict the use of credit hours, or - exclude from such program any employee or group of employees. 2.1.6. The Employer reserves the right to terminate an Alternative Work Schedule for reasons such as, the employee’s diminished performance, reduction of productivity, cost efficiency, or to support operational requirements in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. 2.2. FLEXITOUR PROVISIONS. Management determines the mandatory hours (core hours) within a flexi tour schedule that an employee must be at work or in a leave status. 2.2.1. With Supervisor’s approval, Employees participating in the flexitour schedule may adjust their starting and ending times up to two hours before and after the scheduled starting and ending times (core hours). All personnel who participate in a flexitour schedule must account for the total number of hours they work each day and ensure they account for 80 hours each biweekly pay period. Maxiflex. 1. Maxiflex applies to all positions not assigned to a standard tour of duty or established shift. Employees will be permitted to use Maxiflex to the maximum extent practicable without impeding the mission. The employer maintains the right to exclude or limit Maxiflex coverage for individual positions based upon mission requirements.
