Occupational First Aid Requirements a) Where the Employer requires an employee to obtain or renew their occupational first aid certificate, all mandated expenses such as tuition, learning materials and medical examinations shall be borne by the Employer. Designated employees shall be granted time off with pay to prepare for and undertake required examination(s) for certificate renewal to a maximum of two (2) working days per certificate renewal.
b) A bi-weekly premium shall be paid to employees required by the Employer to possess a certificate under this Article. The amount of the premium shall be: Occupational First Aid Level 1 $23.00 bi-weekly Occupational First Aid Level 2 $30.00 bi-weekly Occupational First Aid Level 3 $37.00 bi-weekly
Occupational First Aid Requirements. (a) The Union and the Employer agree that First Aid Regulations made pursuant to the Workers Compensation Act shall be fully complied with.
(b) Where the Employer requires an employee to perform first aid duties in addition to the normal requirements of the job, the cost of obtaining and renewing the Occupational First Aid Certificate shall be borne by the Employer and leave to take the necessary courses shall be granted with pay.
(c) An additional payment shall be granted to employees on the basis of the type of Occupational First Aid Certificate they are required to possess under this article, as follows: Upon ratification: Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level 3 $85 per month Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level 2 $70 per month Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level 1 $55 per month OFA allowances will be prorated for part-time employees.
Occupational First Aid Requirements a) The unionUnion and the eEmployer agree that first aid regulations made pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Act shall be fully complied with. Where the eEmployer requires an employee to obtain or renew the employee's survival or occupational first aid certificate, the cost shall be borne by the eEmployer. Employees in designated positions and employees who request to be designated and are approved will be granted time off with pay during normal working hours to renew their certificate. If the course or examinations are held on a day the employee does not normally work, they will receive time off in lieu, such time to be taken subject to operational requirements as approved by their supervisor, for the time spent at courses and writing examinations.
b) A premium shall be paid to employees required to possess a certificate under this Article. The amount of the premium shall be: Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level I Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level II Occupational First Aid Certificate, Level III Forty40 cents ($0.40) per hour; Seventy 70 cents ($0.70) per hour; Eighty-one81 cents ($0.81) per hour.
c) The cost of obtaining first aid certification shall be paid as follows:
i) When an external applicant (outside of the bargaining unit) applies for a first aid designated position, the applicant shall pay the costs of certification (tuition and time off);
ii) When a regular employee applies for a first aid designated position and is the successful applicant conditional on achieving first aid certification, the Employer shall pay one-half (½) the tuition costs of certification upon successful completion and shall grant a leave of absence without pay, if necessary;
iii) When the Employer designates an employee’s position as requiring first aid certification, the Employer shall pay the cost of certification (tuition and time off).

(b) Employees required to possess an Occupational First Aid Certificate and who are designated to act as the First Aid Attendant in addition to their normal job responsibilities shall receive the following allowance on the basis of the Level of certificate which they hold: Level 3 Effective Mar 29/09 Effective April 1, 2016 Effective April 1, 2018 per biweekly period $55 $56 $58 Level 2 Effective Mar 29/09 Effective April 1, 2016 Effective April 1, 2018 per biweekly period $43 $44 $45 The allowance shall be pro-rated for partial months. For the purpose of calculating the hourly rate, the bi-weekly allowance shall be divided by 70; however, no employee shall receive more than the monthly allowance for the Level of certificate which they hold.
(c) Employees designated to act as the Occupational First Aid Attendant in addition to their normal job duties will receive their full monthly allowance while on approved leave with pay of up to 10 days or while on vacation leave with pay.
(d) Where the Employer has an additional requirement for a First Aid Attendant on a temporary basis, then provided the employee acts as the First Aid Attendant for a minimum of 10 work days in any month, the employee shall receive the full monthly allowance.
Occupational First Aid Requirements.
(a) The Union and the Company agree that First Aid Regulations made pursuant to the Workers Compensation Act shall be fully complied with.
(b) Where the Company requires a team members to possess an Occupational First Aid Certificate and perform first aid duties, in addition to the normal requirements of the job, an additional payment shall be granted on the basis of the level of Occupational First Aid Certification they are required to possess, as follows: • Level 2 - $84.50 per month or $39.00 per biweekly period • Level 3 - $110.50 per month or $51.00 per biweekly period
(c) The cost of obtaining and renewing the Occupational First Aid Certificate shall be borne by the Company and leave to take the necessary courses shall be granted with pay.

NEC shall make a reasonable effort to grant employees holding Occupational First Aid Level Certificates under this article leave with pay to attend conventions and local training sessions sponsored by the Industrial First Aid Attendants' Association of British Columbia and the Workers' Compensation Board.
(b) A monthly premium shall be paid to employees required to possess a certificate under this article. The amount of the premium shall be $75 per month for an Occupational First Aid Certificate.
(c) The Union recognizes that should no qualified employee covered by this agreement be available, other employees of NEC may be designated for the purposes of this article.

a) A sub-committee of Labour Management will be struck to develop a process to support and provide feedback for the professional development and career success of CUPE members.
b) This process will be designed to be supportive, not disciplinary or adversarial.
c) The sub-committee will develop terms of reference. The scope of the committee’s work will include:
i) a plan detailing the methodology to develop the process;
ii) a description of the resources required to support the sub-committee’s work; and
iii) a timeframe for the proposed plan’s completion.
d) The process will adhere to the following principles:
i) Supportive of a meaningful dialogue between the employee and the University;

(a) Where the Commission requires an employee to perform first aid duties in addition to the normal requirements of the job, the cost of obtaining and renewing the Occupational First Aid Certificate shall be borne by the Commission, and leave to take the necessary courses shall be granted with pay.
(b) Employees required to possess an Occupational First Aid Certificate and who are designated to act as the First Aid Attendant in addition to their normal job responsibilities shall receive the following allowance on the basis of the Level of certificate which they hold: • Level 3 Occupational First Aid Certificate: o $58.45 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2014) o $59.03 per biweekly period (effective July 1. 2015) o $59.92 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2016) o $60.82 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2017) o $61.73 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2018) • Level 2 Occupational First Aid Certificate: o $45.70 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2014) o $46.16 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2015) o $46.85 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2016) o $47.55 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2017) o $48.26 per biweekly period (effective July 1, 2018) The allowance shall be pro-rated for partial months.
