Overtime Wages Sample Clauses
The Overtime Wages clause defines the employer’s obligation to compensate employees for hours worked beyond the standard workweek, typically at a higher pay rate. In practice, this clause specifies the threshold of hours after which overtime pay applies—such as after 40 hours in a week—and the rate at which overtime is paid, often one and a half times the regular wage. Its core function is to ensure employees are fairly compensated for extra work and to comply with labor laws, thereby protecting both the employer and employee from disputes over additional hours worked.
