PART-TIME HOURLY TEACHERS. All terms and conditions of employment for part-time hourly teachers shall be contained solely within this Section 5 and the Appendices specifically referenced in this section. Part-time hourly employees are at will employees who work when needed by the District and whose assignments or future assignments can be terminated at any time solely at the discretion of the employer and is not grievable under the terms of this labor agreement. A teacher employed on a part-time hourly basis shall not have or acquire any rights or benefits other than the pay rate provided in Appendix D. The Board of Education and the Saint Xxxx Federation of Educators, Local 28 affirm that providing instruction in classes of appropriate size is a matter of professional interest and concern to both; therefore, the parties will ask that the Professional Issues Committee (PIC) review and discuss, in consultation with the Superintendent, concerns that continue to require attention at any time during a school year.

Student Engagement and Conduct The District and Federation jointly affirm that maintaining an engaging, safe and secure environment is essential for teaching and learning to occur. Students cannot function effectively if they do not feel safe in schools and do not have positive relationships with the teachers and other adults in the building. Teachers cannot provide the highest level of instruction and engagement to promote increased student achievement if there are frequent disruptions by students. We jointly recognize the need to work toward safe schools that are free from weapons, drugs, bullying, violence, prejudice, discrimination, and disruption. To that end, the District and Federation are committed to positive and consistent discipline protocols within our schools. We acknowledge that consequences must exist for behaviors that threaten the safety of others and interfere with learning. Together we are committed to promoting practices that support positive relationships and strengthen school climate to minimize interruptions in student learning. The District affirms its intent that the principles and procedures established in the Student Behavior Handbook: Rights and Responsibilities shall be applied consistently and equitably throughout Saint Xxxx Public Schools. The Federation affirms its support for the implementation of positive behavioral interventions and supports consistent with the Student Behavior Handbook: Rights and Responsibilities. To xxxxxx systemic implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports, the District will provide assistance to schools in the development, implementation, and evaluation of schoolwide approaches. School principals will create and maintain a school level team focused on monitoring, supporting and improving student conduct. PART-TIME HOURLY TEACHERS. (Applies to Teaching Staff Only) A. The salary guide for part-time hourly teachers shall be pro-rated on Step 1 of the BA guide in each year of this agreement. The hourly rate shall constitute Step 1 for these teachers. Each step thereafter -- Steps 2 through 5 shall be increased by twenty-five cents ($.25) over the previous step. B. The articles of this agreement shall apply to these part-time hourly teachers except for the following:

  • Part-Time Teachers A "part-time teacher" is one who is employed under written contract but who is assigned to duties on a regular basis that requires less than a full-time equivalent. A part-time teacher shall be paid a salary in accordance with the basic salary schedule, proportionate to the percentage of the full-time equivalent taught each day as outlined in the written contract.

  • Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse hired to a position to work on a regular or temporary basis that is less than the work period of a Full-Time Nurse.

  • Overtime for Part-Time Employees ‌ (a) A part-time employee working less than the normal hours per day of a full-time employee, and who is required to work longer than their regular workday, shall be paid at the rate of straight-time for the hours so worked, up to and including the normal hours in the workday of a full-time employee. (b) A part-time employee working less than the normal days per week of a full-time employee, and who is required to work other than their regularly scheduled workdays, shall be paid at the rate of straight-time for the days so worked up to and including the normal workdays in the workweek of a full-time employee. (c) Overtime rates shall apply to hours worked in excess of (a) and (b) above.

  • Part-Time Employees Employees who are scheduled to work less than forty (40) hours per workweek.

  • Part-Time Employee Part-time employee" means an employee who is normally scheduled to work fewer than 80 hours in a biweekly payroll period.

  • Permanent Part-Time Employees (1) Pay and benefits will be computed on a prorated monthly or pay period basis, such as one-half (½) monthly or pay period pay for a half-time employee, or pay will be computed on an hourly basis, and pay and benefits will be normally prorated on a pay period, pay status basis. Permanent part-time employees in permanent full-time positions will be treated as permanent part-time for purposes of this Article. (2) Employees paid on a fixed partial monthly basis shall have all extra hours worked over the regular part-time schedule paid at the hourly rate. Employees paid on a fixed partial monthly basis who work less than the regular part-time schedule shall have time deducted at the hourly rate.

  • Part-Time Only A rest period of fifteen (15) minutes will be granted during each half tour provided the duration of each half tour is not less than three (3) hours.

  • Part-Time A part-time employee is an employee who regularly works less than forty (40) hours per week. The Agency shall not use part-time employees to avoid full-time benefits.

  • Part-time Scheduling Subject to Section B of this Article, the Employer and the Association endorse the principle that less than full time equivalent ("FTE") positions shall, within reason, be expected to work a biweekly work period that equates to an eighty (80) hour work period multiplied by the position's FTE. (e.g., 80 hours @ .75 = 60 hours). It is further understood by both parties that ASF Members assigned to less than a FTE position may be required, during the peak work periods, to exceed their normal biweekly work period. FLSA non-exempt ASF Members who work a part-time schedule will earn overtime for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a work week. The Employer agrees to review any ASF position that is less than one (1) FTE if the Association can demonstrate that the position has regularly been required to work a work period that substantially exceeds the normal work period as defined above, and adjust the FTE of the respective position as deemed appropriate by the Employer.

  • Regular Part-Time Employees A regular part-time employee is one who works less than full-time on a regularly scheduled basis. Regular part-time employees accumulate seniority on an hourly basis and are entitled to all benefits outlined in this Collective Agreement. Regular part-time employees shall receive the same perquisites, on a proportionate basis, as granted regular full-time employees.
