HOURS AND WORK WEEK. (a) The work day for regular full time mechanics shall be eight (8) hours including lunch periods, with lunch periods to be scheduled at times consistent with the requirements of the respective job assignments. Mechanics shall not leave the buildings where they work for their personal needs unless permission has been granted in advance by the appropriate supervisor.
(b) The work week for regular full time mechanics shall consist of five (5) days Monday through Friday and shall normally be of forty (40) hours duration.
(c) It is recognized and understood that deviations from the foregoing regular schedules of work may be necessary and may unavoidably result from several causes such as, but not limited to, rotation of shifts, vacations, leaves of absences, weekend and holiday duty, absenteeism, employee request, temporary shortages of personnel and emergencies. No such deviations shall be considered a violation of this contract.

HOURS AND WORK WEEK a. The regularly scheduled workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours beginning at 12:01 a.m., Monday and ending one hundred twenty-eight (128) hours thereafter. The exception to this provision is the MHS/MMS split shift custodial position (Tuesday- Saturday).
b. 1. The normal workday shall be eight (8) consecutive hours. Shift schedules shall be reviewed in July of each year. Employees will be informed of their shift schedules no later than July 31st. Shift schedules shall not be altered during the course of the school year except by mutual agreement of the employee and the Employer.

The City has the right to adjust the normal work week of employees such that employees work eight (8) consecutive hours per day (exclusive of lunch break) during five (5) consecutive days commencing with the first hour and day of the employees normally assigned work week and shift. The official workweek shall begin on each Sunday at 00:01 hours, and shall end at 24:00 hours on the following Saturday.

2. The normal work day shall be inclusive of the employee's regularly scheduled work day. The number of hours of work and the schedule of hours for each employee shall be determined by the Employer and may be changed by the Employer at any time.

B. Hours of employment for each individual Employee shall be determined by the Supervisor of Food Service. Review of an Employee’s hours will be granted upon request.
C. Time and one-half (1-1/2) will be paid for all time worked in excess of forty hours in one workweek, which includes regular hours of work and special events.
D. Authorization from the Food Service Supervisor is required to work extra time. No extra pay will be given unless extra time is worked.
E. Double time will be paid for all hours worked on Sunday. Authorization from the Food Service Supervisor is required to work extra time.
F. Overtime shall be divided and rotated as equally as possible within the building according to seniority and among those employees who regularly perform such work provided they are qualified to perform such work.
G. Special events that require an employee to be present will follow the seniority list at that location continuously each year. In the fall, the list will commence where it ended at the close of the previous school year.
H. Break provision - breaks will be provided as follows: 4 hours or more – ten minute break
I. All food service employees assigned to kitchens shall be required to take a one-half (1/2) hour lunch break on the premises. The district will provide the lunch.
J. Two (2) one-half (1/2) day workshops or one (1) full day workshop and/or kitchen preparation days will be conducted for food service employees. Employees will be paid at their regular hourly rate of pay for actual hours worked.
K. Elementary Food Service personnel shall be compensated at the employee’s regular pay for kitchen clean-up resulting from facility use if approved by the building administrator.
L. A Class II employee should be given the first opportunity to work in a Class I position before a substitute employee is contacted with no limitations based upon length of time of the absence. A Class II employee who fills a Class I position for an entire workday and performs all or substantially all of the Class I position duties will receive Class I wages for the duration of time in the Class I position.
M. If an employee’s school is not in session when other schools within the District are working, then the employees whose school is not in session will be contacted first before a substitute employee is contacted.

(b) The work week for regular full time skilled trades employees shall consist of five (5) days Monday through Friday and shall normally be forty (40) hours duration.

HOURS AND WORK WEEK. A. For each regular full-time employee, the standard workweek shall be thirty-five (35) hours, Monday through Friday, and the standard workday shall be seven (7) hours, except as otherwise provided in Appendices V (Library) and IX (Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx), or as required for the fulfillment of job responsibilities. The Town and Local 136 recognize that an employee may be required to work hours beyond the standard workday or workweek to fulfill his or her managerial and/or professional job responsibilities. However in no event may a nonexempt employee work in excess of his or her standard workday or workweek without express prior authorization from the department head. A department head may modify the schedule of an employee for attendance at evening meetings, evening office hours and other routine business matters to remain within the standard workday or workweek of the employee. Routine Town Hall evening office hours shall be limited to one evening per week. Employees shall be afforded an opportunity for a minimum of eight (8) hours of rest prior to reporting to work.
B. Except as otherwise provided in Appendices V (Library) and IX (Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx) , a nonexempt employee shall be compensated for work performed in excess of his or her standard workweek as follows: for hours worked in excess of 35 up to 40 hours at the straight time rate of pay and for hours in excess of 40 hours at the time and one half rate of pay. For purposes of calculating overtime at the time and one half rate of pay (hours worked over 40) pre approved paid vacation and pre approved personal leave shall be considered as time worked.
C. 1) An exempt employee shall be required to work reasonable hours in excess of the standard workday and/or workweek necessary to fulfill his or her managerial and/or professional job responsibilities without additional compensation.
