Regular Part-Time Employee Benefits. Regular part-time employees covered by this Agreement shall earn and be granted sick leave and vacations at one-half (1/2) the rate of full-time employees. The Employer will pay the premium for single coverage under the Employer's hospitalization insurance program subject to Section 14.1 and will also provide Five Thousand and No/100 ($5,000.00) Dollars term life insurance with accidental death and dismemberment. Regular part-time employees shall not be entitled to longevity. Regular part-time employees shall receive holiday pay only if they work on a holiday recognized by this Agreement. Regular part-time employees are not entitled to any other fringe benefits.

Regular Part-Time Employee Benefits. Regular part-time employees shall accrue and be allowed vacation and sick leave with pay on a pro-rated schedule based on their hours worked using the hourly equivalent accrual rate for full-time employees, holiday pay only if the holiday occurs during their normally scheduled hours, and premiums for the employee only paid by the City for health related insurance.
Regular Part-Time Employee Benefits. (a) Regular part-time employees shall be covered by all provisions of the Collective Agreement that apply to a regular full-time employee except that the level of vacation and sick leave benefits shall be pro-rated on the basis of hours actually worked. Credit for these benefits shall be calculated once they start regular employment, or once yearly on January 1st of each year. (b) Statutory holiday entitlement for regular part-time employees shall be determined on the basis of the following formula; Total number of hours paid to employee in 30 calendar days prior to statutory holiday (including paid leave but not overtime) Divided by 20 (c) If the employee has returned from maternity, parental or adoption leave in the 30 day period immediately prior to the statutory holiday, entitlement shall be determined on the basis of the following formula; Total number of hours paid to employee in 30 (or less) calendar days prior to statutory holiday (including paid leave but not overtime) Divided by the full-time hours available in the 30 (or less) calendar days since the return to work commenced.
Regular Part-Time Employee Benefits. ‌ Regular part-time employees shall be covered by all provisions of the Collective Agreement that apply to a regular full-time employee, except that: (a) The level of statutory holiday, vacation and sick leave benefits shall be prorated on the basis of hours paid including any hours covered by WorkSafeBC entitlements (subject to Article 24, Effect of Absence on Sick Leave, Vacations and Statutory Holidays). Credit for these benefits shall be calculated twice yearly on January 1st and July 1st of each year, with the calculation of the (half-yearly) credit for the next six (6) month period being based upon the previous six (6) month qualification period, divided by the full-time hours normally available during that period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, regular part-time employees working full weekly hours shall not have their statutory holiday entitlement on a pro- rata basis. A regular part-time employee who is actively at work on a full time weekly basis shall receive the same statutory holiday entitlement as a regular full-time employee and while on lay-off shall not receive any statutory holiday entitlement. (b) For purposes of clarification, the qualification periods referred to above are the previous July 1st to December 31st period for each January calculation, and the previous January 1st to June 30th period for each July calculation.

The premium cost of providing employee benefits under Article 13(b) (Group Medical, Extended Health Care, Dental Care, and Group Life Insurance benefits), and bereavement benefits shall be prorated for part-time employees according to their hours of work. In prorating benefit premiums, the Employer shall pay a prorated share of the premium based on the proportion of the employee's regularly scheduled hours compared to the full-time hours of the position and the premium share paid by the Employer for a full-time employee. The employee shall pay the balance of the premium. For example, where an employee works 21 hours per week (in a position where full-time employees work 35 hours), the Employer’s share of the monthly premium would be 45% (21 hours (scheduled weekly hours)/35 hours (normal full-time hours) x 75% (Employer's portion of premium for a full-time employee)) and the employee would pay 55% of the monthly premium. For Bereavement Leave, the same principle shall be applied to the maximum hourly benefit available to a full-time employee. For example, where the bereavement benefit for a full-time employee (working 35 hours per week) is a maximum of 5 working days, an employee working 21 hours per week would be entitled to a maximum benefit of 21 hours of Bereavement Leave (21/35 x 35 hours (5 working days)).
