Vacations and Statutory Holidays. Casual employees shall receive 12.2% of their straight time pay exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Casual employees are entitled to the following premium rates of pay on statutory holidays: A casual employee who works on a statutory holiday listed in Article 21.01 shall be paid two (2) times her/his rate of pay. A casual employee who works on a statutory holiday, listed in Article 21.07, shall be paid two and one-half (2.5) times her/his rate of pay. Casual employees who work on a statutory holiday are not entitled to another day off with pay.

Vacations and Statutory Holidays. Section 1: Annual Vacations (i) Employees leaving the service in less than twelve (12) months from the date of appointment shall be granted vacation pay in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. Vacations and Statutory Holidays. Vacation periods and leaves of absence shall not conflict with essential departmental requirements. The general intent is that vacations should be taken at times mutually agreeable to the Employer and the employee. Recognizing, however, that circumstances may arise in which the Employer finds it necessary to direct that an employee take vacations, such direction shall not be given without reasonable notice and due consideration. In circumstances where employees do not normally participate in a vacation sign up, employees may make application for their vacation in writing to their supervisor. The Employer will respond in writing within two (2) weeks of receipt of this application. Applications made by employees will not be unreasonably denied.

Vacations and Statutory Holidays. 17.01 Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay consisting of six percent (6%) of gross earnings for annual Vacation and six percent (6%) of gross earnings for Statutory Holidays shall be paid to the employee at least once a month and upon termination of employment. If requested in advance by the employee, Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay shall also be paid on the last regular pay day in March, June, September and prior to Christmas for those working at the time. An employee may take up to three (3) weeks' annual vacation in any calendar year. The vacation period will be arranged by mutual agreement between the member/employee and the Employer. The recognized holidays are: New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Friday immediately prior to B.C. Day, B.C. Day, Friday immediately prior to Labour Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and any such day as may be declared a public holiday by the Federal and/or Provincial Government. No work will be performed on Labour Day. All work performed on Statutory Holidays shall be paid for at applicable overtime rates. For reference Appendix "B" includes a list of the dates of each Statutory Holiday occurring through the year 2014. 17.02 When a Statutory Holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday will be observed subject to the exception in Article 5.02 for employees working on a Compressed Work Week. 17.03 When Christmas and Boxing Day fall on Saturday and Sunday, the following Monday and Tuesday shall be observed subject to the exception in Article 5.02 for employees working on a Compressed Work Week.
