RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. A. The President of the Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxx Education Association shall have released time to conduct the business of the Association consistent with law. Said time not to exceed nine (9) hours per year. Scheduling of the released time shall be agreed upon by the Principal of the building and the President.
B. The Association shall reimburse the School District for the expenses incurred.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. The President of the Association shall be provided with full released time from teaching or equivalent duties in order to carry out Association duties and shall suffer no loss of pay or employment benefits while performing such duties during the term of office expires. The Association shall pay to the District an amount equal to Step 7 on Appendix A for such release of the President.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. A. Board and the Association agree that in order to help process urgent grievances or issues that require immediate attention, released time for the Association President may be necessary.
B. The details of the released time shall be arranged in each instance through consultation between the building principal, the Superintendent, and the president of the Association.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. The Association President shall be granted up to full time released time from his/her teaching duties to assist teachers at times when it does not disrupt the learning process and to confer with Board representatives in matters of implementation and interpretation of this Agreement. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the full salary and cost of fringe benefits paid the President.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. The Association President shall be granted twelve (12) half days of released time (taken in 1/2 or full day increments) per school year for Association business relative to in-District matters at no loss of salary, fringe benefits, or seniority.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. The President of the Association may have released time for the execution of his/her duties. The cost of the released time will be paid to the Board by the Association. The time will be established as follows provided said request is made in writing sixty (60) days prior to the beginning of the school year.
1. If the President is from the junior high or the high school, he/she will have two (2) class periods of released time over and above his/her conference and preparation time.
2. If the President is from the elementary level, he/she will be released for one-half (1/2) day.
3. The portion of the day of release will be consecutive hours selected by the President with the approval of the respective building principal. RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. In order to provide sufficient time to the administration of this contract and to assist in maintaining a wholesome educational climate in which children may learn, the President of the Penn Hills Education Association will be assigned a 5/7 daily instructional day including one (1) planning period. The workday shall be scheduled to the mutual satisfaction of the District and the Association. In the event the President-elect is in a position that the release time would necessitate the cost of additional staff, the District has the right to reassign the President for the term of his/her office to a position in which the release time can be accommodated to eliminate any need for additional staff. Prior to such reassignment, the District shall meet with the Association to discuss possible assignments. The President can exercise his/her option to return to his/her original position.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. The District agrees to release an employee who is serving as Association President from his/her regular assignment either half-time or full-time for the year, or other employee up to full-time for the year. Based on the Association President’s contract FTE (full-time equivalent) during the school year previous to the school year term of office, those contractual rights accorded employees with the same FTE will be accorded the Association President during the school year term of office. The Association shall reimburse the District the percentage of FTE for release time times the total cost of the President’s salary and benefits. Unless otherwise mutually agreed by the Superintendent and Association President, reimbursement shall be paid monthly upon receipt of a billing by the District. This provision is permissive and will be implemented at the Association’s request and upon the Superintendent’s receipt of written notice prior to June 1 of any term. Said notice shall specify the amount of release time to be used for the following year. Upon completion of the school year, the released Association President shall be guaranteed his/her original position for the following school year, except for modifications/changes that occur as a result of provisions of this Agreement.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. Upon request by the Association, the MEA President may be released up to his/her full contracted FTE time on a daily basis, provided:
A. The Association notifies the District Superintendent annually and in writing by May 1 of the current school year of the Association's intent to provide release time for the President in the subsequent school year. Said notice shall specify the amount of release time to be used.
B. The Association and the employee to be released will cooperate with the District and the appropriate building administrator to insure continuity in the delivery of the educational program and services to students.
C. The employee's C-5 will reflect the percentage of time (FTE) contracted for professional duties and for release time for Association responsibilities.
D. The Association will reimburse the District, monthly, in advance and within ten (10) days of date of billing, for that FTE percentage of salary and mandatory and permissive benefits to be paid by the District on behalf of the Association President. Should payment not be made by the 20th of a month, the District, at its option, may reduce salary and benefit payments in subsequent months to the actual C-5 contracted time for professional duties.
E. Based on the Association President's continuing contract FTE during the school year previous to the school year term of office, those contractual rights accorded employees with the same FTE will be accorded the Association President during the school year term of office within the above provisions.
F. The Association hereby agrees to defend and hold the District harmless from any or all suits, damages (as awarded by court), fees and costs, including attorney's fees, asserted or claimed against the District as a result of or arising from the District's enforcement, application or carrying out of the provisions in this Section. It is understood that the Association shall have the right to utilize an attorney of its choice in defending and hold the District harmless as provided above.
G. Upon completion of the school year, the released Association President shall be guaranteed his/her original position for the following school year, or a comparable position.
RELEASED TIME FOR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT. The Association President shall be granted up to full-time released time from his/her teaching duties to assist teachers at times when it does not disrupt the learning process and to confer with the Board representatives in matters of implementation and interpretation of this Agreement. The Association shall reimburse the Board for release time based on Bachelor Step 1 including MPSERS costs and the cost of fringe benefits (insurance). District Administration and the Association President(s) shall meet during the first semester to review the annual invoice. It is understood and agreed that the Association’s reimbursement shall be kept current and never more than a quarter (i.e., 90 days) in arrears, after submission of the invoice, absent the written agreement of the District’s Superintendent or designee.
