Scheduling of Christmas and New Year's Holidays. 20.1 Assignment to least senior—When employees are scheduled to work between December 23 and January 2, those employees within the same job function shall be called in on a year-to-year rotational basis beginning with those employees with the least seniority.
Scheduling of Christmas and New Year's Holidays. Employees shall submit their wishes for scheduling of Christmas and New Year's holidays no later than the thirty-first (31st) day of October. At least five (5) full working days prior to the thirty-first (31st) day of October, the Company will post on its boards a notice to ascertain the individual wishes of the employees.

Before November 15th of each year, the employees will advise the Company in writing of their preference of days off to be scheduled over the Christmas and New Year's days. The employee's choice of either day off shall be granted on the basis of Company seniority within the functional group and each employee, if he so requests, shall be scheduled off on either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. An employee scheduled off on one of these days shall not be required to work beyond 1900 hours on the eve of that holiday. These Christmas and New Year's holiday schedules shall be posted no later than December 1st.

Each employee will be designated as either an “A” or a “B.” “A” employees will be scheduled for three (3) holidays and “B” employees will be scheduled for three (3) holidays. The next year, “A” employees will work the “B” holidays, and the “B” employees will work the “A” holidays.

The actual holiday will be as defined in Section 6.4 of this Agreement. Employees who are regularly scheduled on the PM shift shall be obligated to work no more than two (2) of the four (4) available shifts on the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

The Christmas and New Years Day schedule will be posted not later than November and except for unforeseen or mitigating circumstance, shall not be changed after the schedule has been posted. Such schedule shall reflect both the hours to be worked by individual employees as well as those employees with scheduled time off. Where an employee does not indicate their preference by the said date, the Employer will assume there is no preference and will schedule work accordingly giving regard to operational requirements.
