SHOP STEWARDS AND UNION REPRESENTATIVES. 4.01 The Employer agrees to recognize four (4) Shop Stewards for the purpose of overseeing the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement being implemented and for the purpose of presenting complaints and grievances to the School Principal or his or her designate. The Union shall advise the Employer of the election or appointment of Shop Stewards and any changes occurring in such positions. 4.02 The Union acknowledges that the Shop Xxxxxxx’x primary responsibility is to the Employer. Shop Stewards shall be entitled to carry out their duties during normal working hours without loss of pay provided that a request for permission prior to conducting the Union business has been made to the School Principal or his or her designate and that these duties do not interfere with or disrupt the operation of the school or school division. Permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. 4.03 The Employer and the Shop Stewards shall acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and advise of the terms and conditions as set out in the Agreement.
SHOP STEWARDS AND UNION REPRESENTATIVES. 29.01 The Union agrees to advise the Company by letter the name or names of the Shop Xxxxxxx and of any change of Shop Xxxxxxx immediately. 29.02 If a Shop Xxxxxxx desires to consult a Union Representative regarding an alleged infraction of this Agreement, he may do so in the Shop during working hours. 29.03 The Business Representative or other duly authorized Union Representative shall be permitted to visit the plant during operating hours for the purposes consistent with the Agreement, provided that he first notifies management before entering the plant. The time of the visit shall be mutually agreed by the parties hereto. 29.04 The Company agrees that the essential communication between the Union officials and the Shop Xxxxxxx shall not be unreasonably denied. 29.05 The Working Supervisor shall be the judge of an employee’s ability and efficiency as a worker. When issuing a formal warning to an employee, which must be in writing, the Shop Xxxxxxx and Union Office shall be advised. 29.06 Upon request by the Shop Xxxxxxx, the Company shall advise him of the source of any work brought into the plant from outside. Such request shall not interfere with the normal production of the plant.
SHOP STEWARDS AND UNION REPRESENTATIVES. The County recognizes the right of the Union to designate shop stewards. The Union will notify the County, in writing, of the designated shop stewards. The Union will limit the number of shop stewards to a reasonable number (not to exceed 1 xxxxxxx for every 20 employees including one Chief-Shop-Xxxxxxx, & one Safety-Xxxxxxx). The Union will give reasonable notice of any change in shop stewards. Shop stewards have no authority to take strike action or any other action interrupting the County's business. The County recognizes these limitations upon the authority of shop stewards and shall not hold the Union liable for any unauthorized acts. The County in so recognizing such limitations shall have the authority to impose proper discipline, including discharge, in the event any xxxxxxx has taken unauthorized strike action, slowdown, or work stoppage in violation of this Agreement, which discipline or discharge will not be subject to the provisions of Articles 11 and 14. Shop stewards shall have the right to represent employees, with no loss of regular straight time wages, at any step of the grievance procedure and, at the request of the employee, during any meeting between an employee and a representative of the County conducted for the purpose of administering discipline to an employee or for the purpose of investigating a matter from which discipline may result. Time off with pay shall be provided for official representatives of the Union to attend Communications Workers of America's National and State meetings, or to attend training sponsored by the Communications Workers of America, provided such time off is not in excess of twenty (20) days in the aggregate in each calendar year, is otherwise reasonable, and does not interfere with the officer's official duties and functions. Requests for such leave, which may be taken as either paid or unpaid personal days, shall be made to the County at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance.
SHOP STEWARDS AND UNION REPRESENTATIVES. ‌ 1. The Employer agrees to recognize stewards as appointed by the Union. 2. The stewards may perform duties such as assist in the investigation, presentation and settling of grievances. Stewards shall not be discriminated against in discharging duties assigned them by the Union. 3. A duly authorized representative of the Union will be permitted to visit the premises of the Employer at reasonable times for the purpose of transacting any business of the Union. However, the representatives shall first make their presence known with advance notice to the District Office and state the nature of the matter involved. Such visits shall be limited to the purposes of determining whether provisions of this Contract are being observed. The Employer will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, giving due regard to the nature of the matter, safety, and its own service and production needs. Representatives who are not employees shall be subject to all regulations of the Employer applicable to non-employees. Such visits shall not interfere with the work of any employee or the operations of the terminal or any department thereof.
SHOP STEWARDS AND UNION REPRESENTATIVES. ‌ 3.1 The Club agrees to recognize five (5) Shop Stewards as the employees' representatives and will accord a hearing to the Shop Stewards for settlement of disputes and grievances. Upon prior approval of Management, Shop Stewards will be provided reasonable time during working hours for the handling of employee/Union complaints or grievances. It is understood that the Shop Stewards' first obligation is the fulfillment of their responsibilities as employees. 3.2 An authorized representative of the Union shall be permitted to enter the Plant Operations, Food and Beverage, and Aquatic areas, at any reasonable time in the interest of the employees covered by this Agreement, provided that the Manager is first contacted, and that there will be no disruption of employees' duties. With particular reference to the pool employees, the Union recognizes that they should not be interrupted while they are on lifeguard duties. 3.3 In the event of a complaint or grievance respecting an employee's pay the Union Representative shall, upon request to the Manager, have access to the time sheets. The Representative shall, upon request to the Chief Executive Officer, have access to the pay records. 3.4 Upon request to the Chief Executive Officer, the Club shall grant a leave of absence without pay for a period of two or three years (as the case may be) to an employee who is elected to Union office. Upon request, such leave may be extended for a further term of office if the employee is re-elected. An employee who obtains such leave(s) of absence must return to the employ of the Club at the end of the elected term(s) to retain employee status. 3.5 It is agreed that before the employee receives this leave of absence, as set forth in Clauses 3.4 above, the request shall be forwarded to the Employer in writing twenty-one (21) days prior to the day on which the leave of absence is to commence. 3.6 The Club shall grant a leave of absence without pay to employees who are elected to attend Union Conventions, to participate in negotiations involving the Employer, and for other Union business. The leave of absence is limited to one employee from each department at any one time. Subject to the operating requirements of the Club and upon seven (7) days prior written notice, all Shop Stewards may be granted leave to attend Shop Xxxxxxx and committee training at the same time. 3.7 The number of employees granted leave of absence for these purposes shall be subject to the service requirement...

  • Union Representatives Upon mutual agreement of the parties, the number may be altered from time to time. Where a Union Representative commences on an extended leave of absence, the Union will endeavour to find a temporary replacement for the Union Representative from within the Home.

  • Recognition of Union Stewards and Grievance Committee In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the Employer acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Stewards.   • List of Union Representatives The Union agrees to provide and maintain an up-to-date list of all Union Representatives (including Union Stewards, Union Executive, Grievance Committee, Labour/Management Committee and Negotiating Committee) to the Director of Human Resources or designate.

  • Shop Stewards 15. The Union may select one xxxxxxx and/or alternate xxxxxxx in each department or bureau in which employees covered by this CBA are working. A xxxxxxx shall only deal with grievances within or related to the xxxxxxx'x department or bureau. 16. The Union shall furnish the City with an accurate list of shop stewards. The Union may submit amendments to this list at any time because of the permanent absence of a designated shop xxxxxxx. If a shop xxxxxxx is not officially designated in writing, by the Union, none will be recognized. 17. The Union and the City recognize that it is the responsibility of the shop xxxxxxx to assist in the resolution of grievances or disputes at the lowest possible level. 18. While handling grievances, discipline, or meeting with the City representatives concerning matters affecting the working conditions and status of employees covered by this CBA, not more than two shop stewards shall be allowed time off during normal working hours to perform such duties without loss of pay; provided, however, that time off for investigation shall be reasonably related to the difficulty of the grievance. No xxxxxxx shall leave the duty or work station or assignment without specific approval of the employee's department head or other authorized manager. Such release time for the shop xxxxxxx shall not be unreasonably denied. 19. If, in the judgment of the supervisor, permission cannot be granted immediately to the shop xxxxxxx to investigate or present a grievance during on duty time, such permission shall be granted by the supervisor no later than the next working day from the date the shop xxxxxxx was denied permission, unless the parties agree to an alternative time. 20. In handling grievances or disciplinary matters, the shop xxxxxxx shall have the right to: 21. Consult with the affected employee regarding the presentation of a grievance after the employee has requested the assistance or presence of the shop xxxxxxx. 22. Present to a supervisor a grievance, which has been requested by an employee or group of employees, for resolution or adjustment. 23. Investigate any such grievance so that such grievance can be properly discussed with the supervisor or the designated representative. 24. Attend meetings with supervisors or other city representatives when such meetings are necessary to adjust grievances or represent employees in disciplinary matters. In scheduling meetings, due consideration shall be given to the operating needs and work schedules of the department, division, or section in which the employees are employed. Release time for the shop xxxxxxx shall not be unreasonably denied. 25. In emergency situations, where immediate disciplinary action may be taken because of violation of law or a City or departmental rule (theft, etc.), the shop xxxxxxx shall, if possible, be granted immediate permission to leave his/her post of duty to assist the employee. 26. Shop stewards shall not interfere with the work of any employee. 27. Pursuant to the Xxxxxx-Xxxxxx-Xxxxx Act and Employee Relations Ordinance, a reasonable number of stewards or other designated employees may attend during working hours with no loss of pay, meetings scheduled with representatives of the Appointing Officer for the purpose of meeting and conferring on terms and conditions of employment, and may participate in the discussions, deliberations and decisions at such meeting. 28. Stewards shall receive timely notice of departmental orientation sessions, and shall be permitted to make appearances at departmental orientation sessions, in order to distribute Union materials and to discuss employee rights and obligations under this CBA. The Union and a department or bureau may agree to other arrangements for contact between stewards and new employees.

  • Parties’ Representatives Both Parties shall ensure that throughout the term of this Agreement, a duly appointed Representative is available for communications between the Parties. The Representatives shall have full authority to deal with all day-to-day matters arising under this Agreement. If a Party’s Representative becomes unavailable, the Party shall promptly appoint another Representative. Acts and omissions of Representatives shall be deemed to be acts and omissions of the Party. Owner and CAISO shall be entitled to assume that the Representative of the other Party is at all times acting within the limits of the authority given by the Representative’s Party. Owner’s Representatives and CAISO’s Representatives shall be identified on Schedule J.

  • Union Stewards (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Union stewards to be elected or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period for the purpose of dealing with Union business as provided under this Collective Agreement. (b) A Chief Xxxxxxx or designate may, in the absence of any xxxxxxx, assist in the presentation of any grievance, or with any xxxxxxx function. (c) The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of Union stewards appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. (d) It is agreed that Union stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. If, in the performance of his duties, a Union xxxxxxx is required to enter an area within the Hospital in which he is not originally employed, he shall report his presence to the supervisor in the area immediately upon entering it. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming his regular duties and responsibilities, such xxxxxxx shall again report to his immediate supervisor. A Union xxxxxxx shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent in performing the above duties during his regular scheduled working hours. (e) Nothing in this Article shall preclude full-time stewards from representing part-time employees and vice-versa. (f) The number of stewards and the areas which they represent, are to be determined locally.

  • Union Representative Visits The Union shall inform the Employer in advance whenever the designated representatives of the Union intend to visit the Employer’s premises for the purpose of conducting Union business. Such visits shall not interfere with the normal operations of the worksite. Reasonable accommodation will be made to allow the Presidents of the Unions to have access to union members to conduct union business.

  • Nurse Representatives & Grievance Committee (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Association representatives to be elected or appointed from amongst nurses in the bargaining unit for the purpose of dealing with Association business as provided in this Collective Agreement. The number of representatives and the areas which they represent are set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (b) The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee, one of whom shall be chair. This committee shall operate and conduct itself in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement and the number of nurses on the Grievance Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (c) It is agreed that Union representatives and members of the Grievance Committee have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. If, in the performance of their duties, a union representative or member of the Grievance Committee is required to enter a unit within the hospital in which they are not ordinarily employed they shall, immediately upon entering such unit, report their presence to the supervisor or nurse in charge, as the case may be. When resuming their regular duties and responsibilities, such representatives shall again report to their immediate supervisor. The Hospital agrees to pay for all time spent during their regular hours by such representatives hereunder.
